Really appreciate Sean going along with "10 minutes no rush"... it does give him a chance to get used to later-game units but there was some chance the guy would spend the entire time just building bunkers to fill from his one barracks, because that's how some people play when they're new to RTS, and it would've just wasted 10 minutes of Sean's time 😂 I'm glad the guy put up a good fight, made it worth watching.
Day9 learning AoE2: I will ONLY play Franks for one year so I can learn how the game works without distracting myself with al the faction-specific stuff. Day9 learning Stormgate: I will immediately play random only!
Celestials can use one of those Morph Cores to place a production structure near the enemy base, then use it to reinforce (since all units from the same type of structure can be made to warp out of that one structure.)
As an RTS novice, I played SC2, AoE, Stronghold Crusader, AoM, RoN, and watched a ton of BW, I really like how this plays, or at least how it looks like it plays. so I may be the target audience.
It's so dangerous for a developer to do an early release of a game that's competitive and likely to be streamed, because the game is gonna sell much better if it immediately gets a ton of positive coverage on stream - but it's also much harder to make the best possible game if you don't have a lot of play testing. I hope Frost Giant listens to the feedback and can convince people to try the game again when they feel like it's the best it can be. I want them to succeed, but it seems pretty precarious at this point.
I dislike the game, but it's cool to see him play Stormgate. Iirc he never streamed SC2 in its heyday because he was worried he'd get judged too hardly as a commentator because he wasn't as good as he used to be in scbw

the quick-build thing seems like... kind of a companion to AoE2's autoscout mechanic they added recently -- though coming from the opposite direction. Autoscout frees up your micro so you can focus on your base and the fundamentals. The quickbuild seems like it's to free up your fundamentals so you can focus on micro?
he was using the quick build system, which automatically sends workers back to do what they were doing before they were sent to build what was happening was he sent the worker to build the expansion, but when it arrived the therium field had expanded into where he told to build, so the building couldnt build, and the worker was automatically sent back by the quickbuild system when he babysat it he used manual commands, so the worker stayed there when the building failed instead of going back

I'd give it a 3/10. It just feels unfun and I'd rather play just about any other RTS out there. Supreme Commander, AOE 2, 3, 4 and Mythology, Command and Conquer Generals, Command and Conquer tiberium wars, Command and Conquer red alert 3, Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Act of Aggression, Company of Heroes, Grey Goo, Sins of a solar empire: rebellion and Crossfire: Legion. All of these I'd rather play than continue playing Stormgate. Some of the ones that I mentioned are definitely pretty bad but they are still better in my opinion. Stormgate feels like a hybrid between popular RTS games and in turn it didn't get a soul. The only reason why I'm not giving it a lower score is because some of the older RTS games are simply just too old for me to enjoy. I'll give it a try again when it's done but it's not looking good so far.

@@mykolalabach2141 Because people learn one thing at a time, and it's worth having a crutch while a new player learns what the macro cycle is and how to play around it. The specific hotkeys you're using for it are a very small part of learning an RTS. It's the same reason why your first math teacher probably told you subtraction can only be done if the first number is bigger instead of explaining integers. Or denied the possibility of the square root of a negative number years later.
