    I used to LOVE the Tavern in the Town in the early 70's...even tho i'm from Wolverhampton, i'd sometimes go in up to 5 times a week, on my own at times as i made some lovely friends there. Devastated in November 1974 .....At weekends, we'd go to Sloopys....such happy memories xx

    As a scruffy student 1985-89 my favourite times were in Edwards No.8, The Dome, Powehouse and Rum Runner. Always enjoy a swift half in The Pot of Beer, Sacks of Potaoes or the Penn and Wig before going into the city centre. Curry at Manzils after every student night was a must. Remember a riot seeing Alice Cooper at the Odeon and Digbeth Civic Hall was always good value.
    Thanks for the memories, I have photos of hair and clothes just like that!

Smiling at the memories that have come to mind whilst writing this.

    People find it hard to believe that I was seeing three bands a week in the 80's. looking at gig lists like the ones included, it's easy to see how we did it.The powerhouse, The Hujmingbird, Digbeth Civic Hall, Burbury's on Broad Street, The Irish Centre and the occasional excursion over to Wolverhapton.

    • @jamiewesson898
      @jamiewesson898 6 лет назад

      in the seventies i saw 5 or 6 bands a week it was frusterating a good band at the odeon and a gig at the town hall around the corner and you could walk in get a ticket and there was so many good record shops then but we avoided reddingtons rare records and plastic factory who were only out to rip off music fans with there inflated prices
