In '78 I hooked into a thermal on take off at Crestline Park, in San Bernardino, CA and shot up and back probably 200 ft. before getting dumped off the thermal. The winds were gusting to 60+ MPH and at times you couldn't make headway and just cocked yourself into the wind until the gust subsided. What an awesome flight that lasted over four hours. Once I landed I was beat from fighting against the turbulence, but thrilled to have made it past 10K ft. in my trusty Cirrus 5.
Congrats on getting back to it. You have my admiration. I'm an H1 with a tow and foot launch qual. I just got a WW F4 195, and I have flown the F3 a bit. From my vastly limited experience, it does seem to want to pitch up in the wind. Whenever I foot launch, it does seem to be a concerted effort to maintain the correct angle of attack, and it does seem to be lower than what I would think by instinct. I keep it low to get in a good run, which is especially important if I'm slot launching.
That photo with the moon is excellent! I enjoyed the video a lot, I have watched it more than a few times and I just noticed that in the captions you misspelled "thermal". when he goes up to 1000' I am taking lessons at the moment and can't wait to have my own Falcon.
You are right, got to work on that. My run was better this time. I am suffering from high performance separation syndrome. I had to step down from my old Predator142 due to my broken spine. This is the first falcon I have flown. Does a falcon launch nose high? Kind feels like it to me. I tried to pull the nose down to where I felt my AOA should be and the wing fought me like, “No, I don’t want my nose that low.” Each launch has been better than the one before. Thanks for the come back. Andy

Sorry but if I didn't see yr friends footage I would have thought the flight was fake cause yr falcon is so stable. Amazing!!
