why Seth Rogen is teaching coding ?
You gotta change some things from time to time, right? ;)
hly shit so fokken perfect, ROFL. I can't watch this guy without hearing Seth Rogen's laugh in the background...
haha first thing i thought

Excellent stuff. I truly appreciate the breakdown of each step and explanation.
That's really great to hear, thanks a lot!
Its great you mentioned if your from PHP server this will feel wierd, that helped me alot!
I have created a HTML page where the image is but when the server runs the image does not appear in the web page only the text appears
You have very pleasing personality - I have just started watching your videos - I started backwards from Angular to Express to Basics of NODE.js....
Wow, many thanks for this great feedback sandy - happy to hear you're liking it!
You r Welcome. May i check whats the best way to enter the world of JavaScript. I am coming mostly from a python world and I have learned a bit of JS basics...I don't know which path to take to be a solid Web developer in JS. Angular2 seems a bit of high order right now for me...though setup my web server as you demonstrated.
I'd go with a JS basics course, you should especially make sure that you understand how objects work there (constructor functions, prototypes). Having a look at some new ES6 features thereafter certainly also is a great idea.
Gotcha. One last question - IS JQuery going to replaced now with OOJ and Angular2 ( i know its a framework but is Jquery get old ?
Yeah, it looks like. jQuery has some limitations frameworks like Angular solve.
I have been so scared of node.js and actively avoided learning it... I feel so dumb, it makes so much sense now! lol
hi! how to make it as an android app! and I'm new to node js. what is the real time use of nodejs.where it is used like what websites,or application like Facebook.can u give some examples too
PHP can be a standalone server as well, but the only thing Node JS has going for it over php is that you can use the same code on client(browser) & server side.
IntelliJ IDEA has the capability of installing plugins for writing Node.js, PHP as well as for several other languages.
Great tutorial .... Glad I wasn't the only one wondering why Seth Rogen is coding :D
Tell me, does this mean I can use this to run my PHP locally? If so, is there a node option that integrates a database locally as well. I'm just curious how to set up my development environment.

LoL
hey i'm just starting out on this playlist, is this still accurate in 2019?
I hope so, I'm also just now using this.
everything except for his IDE seems up to date ;)
Yes, the entire playlist and the shopping cart one is awesome. There might be very few places where some things may not work, but that is usually covered in the comments by the uploader or community.

Thank you so much! I just watched this video and it is helping me a lot to understand Node.js. You´re awesome, seriously!
Amazing to hear that, thanks so much!
Good tutorials! Just a basic question. When you pass the "request" and "response" objects, you said they are created by node, so I assume you can access them anywhere in your application? And are those the same objects as "req" and "res" when using express? Thanks again for this awesome videos!
Hi Sergi, since you're referring to Express: Yes, Express pretty much does the same thing here and manages request and response for you. You can therefore access them in all express middlewares (=> function(req, res, next) {...})
how can you capture video with web cam without background?
thnx alot but i have one question this videos from two years age,is it valid for 2018?
Yes, Node is still the same.
Thanks for the simple and sequential explanation.
Thank YOU for your awesome feedback Dennis :)
hi,
i 'm recently following you for web development . i have question i know php & javascript now i want to learn framework so what's the best in *laravel or *node for 2017 or future . whats your about your think? after your answer i will learn them . thanks advanced .
Hi, that are questions that I really can't answer. There are no "right" or "wrong" languages. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
And Laravel is only a framework, the language would be PHP. PHP still powers the majority of the web, therefore it has the most jobs etc. But languages like NodeJS might have fewer jobs but those jobs might be higher paid. If you only look at this criterium.
In the end: Chose a language with which you like working.
You can also google for "PHP vs Node" etc. and you'll find articles with comparisons which might help you.
thanks for your valuable answer . i would like to working with js so now i 'm planing with node.js . and i hope you will upload complete series with nodejs. 1 more think i has faced database relation with node, can you say something about the DB relation . and thanks again .
Not sure what you mean with "DB relation". You can connect NodeJS (+ Express) to any Database you want. Unlike Laravel, Express doesn't ship with a built-in ORM (like Eloquent in Laravel) but it's easy to add packages to provide MongoDB, mySQL, whateveryoulike access
Hello sir,
I have several very basic doubts regarding your first application hope you will clear them .
1) is it mandatory that response header should be an object or it can be any other type?
2) you said that when you have written response.end() you are telling node js that you are not done yet. in the browser we have just seen your message hello world. except this what could be the other possible output we can get if you were not done yet.
3) when you have created the server you have specified port number as 8000 that means our server will keep listening to the port 8000 so when does our program trigger either when we send request to that port or for any request that comes to that port.

mine says this page sint working why is that?
by executing first app A plain text file ('hello world')is automatically downloaded.why??
if you get this error '(ReferenceError: response is not defined)' rename 'response' to 'res' in all places.
Thanks, it's my first NodeJS application
That's really great to read, hopefully more to come :)
can you explain to me why the sintax is --> node server.js? when you are saing core modules of node, is this the way we are loading them? by saing node... before file name? Thank you, bye.
node is simply the command in the terminal and with it, we can execute any JS file => server.js in this case
Starting to learn Node.js today!
Welcome on board! :)
do I need to know about javascript before studying node JS?
Yes, basic JavaScript knowledge is definitely required/ helpful
Thanks. Was lookin for that. Still helpfull and relevant.
I love you man! Please keep them coming.
+saburius
Awesome to hear that, thank you! For sure I will keep the videos coming :)
Hi, I see that you are using the createServer method here, however you can directly listen without using that, can you explain why we need to create a server? By the way your videos are awesome! I already watched the angular course on udemy, helped me so much :)
Your tutorials are awesome .ith helps me lot thank you🙂
Hello ! you will do lessons
interactions nodejs with mongodb?
Sorry for my english)
+Влад Маштак
Hey, yes I will do videos on Node + MongoDb. :)
Funny fact: change text/plain into plain/text and save+rerun server.js file >> if you try access localhost:8000 'Hello world' file will download automatically lol

OH GOD HE GOT CLOSER!
Can somebody explain the difference between response. end() and response.flush()..
And is it the write approach to do response.end("Hello World"). If so, how does it differ from writing response.write("Hello World").
Thanks in advance :)

Can someone help me? My server wont keep running and says my variable is undefined?
Which variable is undefined?
The app.js variable, Im not sure what I'm doing wrong I even took your exact code from github to see if I just had a coding error. From google search all I got was my environment variables need to be changed but I did that as well and still cant fix it!
Could you share the exact error message ? Does it work if you just copy all my code?
I love this man's accent.
He forgot to mention: press Ctrl + Z to exit the running node application in your terminal once done.
Or CTRL + C in a regular terminal
very well explained
Awesome explanation!
I'm new to Node.js and found this video very helpful. Thanks mate :]
How are we supposed to get the Php storm it’s expensive

I'm using "Webstorm" by Jetrbrains in this video.
PHP Storm by Jet Brains, as mentioned in the beginning. He also mentioned you can use Web Storm. Personally I prefer Atom.

He talks a lot
yeah he does get to the subject but non one cares about his personal development IDE.. We just want to know about nodejs...Not what apps you like to use or your personal history or any other jibber jabber... just the topic please...
Thanks for your feedback! But you can always skip content, ramp up the playback speed - I get these questions a lot which is why I do include the IDE.
