    Outstanding work, I love the fact that they are driven by their own weight to go in the correct position.

    Even if that whole thing costs you $50... man what a savings. Slightly better motor, having to actually buy the plastic, random little things... Probably wouldn't even cost $30. Great job man.

    Awesome Job on the case feeder, it's a great feeling when you can actually make something yourself and it actually works, and even better when you save all that money doing it :) I just made my own primer tube filler for about $5 after looking at Dillons. Keep up the great work.

    That's a unique shell flipper mechanism. So far, I think the style used on the RCBS bullet feeder is the cleanest design I've seen. Very good work. I'm subscribing now.

    Brilliant! I've tried for months to figure out how to make the case drop bottom first. Thanks so much for posting this. Now I'm on the way to HD for plexiglass. Great video and thanks again.

    I'm in the "Can you post blue prints" group. For even $100 I'D BUILD THIS! Buying the plastic would be the expensive part but a detailed parts list and measurements of the holes you cut for 223 would be nice.

    I love ingenuity, this is so awesome!!
    Would you share the opening dimensions, which cause the case to always fall bottom down regardless of orientation?

    • @aaaooaao9949
      @aaaooaao9949 4 года назад +2

      It's a little bit more than the distance from bottom to mass centre.
      If the bottom is in front, it's fall down direktly.
      If not, the collar is over the hole (not heavy enought to fall, the mass centre is not over the hole yet), so the buttom fall first if it's reach the hole.
      easy, but very clever

  • @wouternet94
    @wouternet94 11 лет назад

    Excellent design. Adapting this for pistol ammo would be very hard. Because you want the ammo to drop with the base of the casing facing downwards. This design uses the necked .223 casing to achieve this. Sizing this up to .308 is no problem, but sizing down to "straight"-cased ammo like 9mm or .45 isn't going to be easy.

    The TRW PP-GF30 is hard to fond and no longer made. A rotisserie motor will work about as well and handle 20 to 25 pounds. Some places have the GF30 but want $30 for them. You can get the rotisserie motor used or new for $20 @ many places.

    Turned out good, there is a few issues that i am going to fix but all in all it works fine. I made it a lot harder than it needed to be, but my wife says that's just how i am lol. I am going to be making another now that i made the first to fix alot of the issues. Having exact measurements helps a ton which i didn't have so i guessed alot. But now i know it all or close enough and gonna make one that doesn't have little mistakes on it hehe.

    very cool! I wonder, will there be a toll taken on the motor caused by the constant short interruptions of cases tripping the microswitch ? Maybe add a piece to the circuit to add a 1 second buffer after the microswitch is tripped ?

  • @Jeenyus1983
    @Jeenyus1983 14 лет назад

    yeah-.I cant beleive I didnt think of it ...if you take a peice of .223 and try balancing it-you'll find that the last 1/3 of the brass is equal to the front 2/3's. So if it goes upside down-the back drops first. if it goes rightside up the front will glide over the opening untill the base drops down the hole...I hope I didnt over complicate this answer for ya.Now I cant figure out how to adapt the shell feeder to a hornady LnL AP and I'm stumped on how to make a bullet feeding die for the press

  • @Ron.88
    @Ron.88 12 лет назад

    @njmvermont the base of the cartridge weighs too much. As you can see the case mouth passes over the drop whole every time, then when the base gets to the funnel they drop mouth up every time!

  • @a986fan

    I wonder how much something like that would cost to build if you cannot find a 4rpm motor at a junk shop? Could a faster motor could be used with a potentiometer to dial down the voltage and slow the motor?

    • @aaaooaao9949
      @aaaooaao9949 4 года назад

      i don't know, how to link, so the answer 2.nd time:
      The hole-lenght is a little bit more than the distance from bottom to mass centre.
      If the bottom is in front, it's fall down direktly.
      If not, the collar is over the hole (not heavy enought to fall, the mass centre is not over the hole yet), so the buttom fall first if it's reach the hole.

    • @hogheadv2
      @hogheadv2 9 лет назад +1

      tkarlmann Striking that forward or base first they drop base [Heavy] without issue. Simple as a seatbelt!!!
      [Slot size will vary for each caliber, .... even if your motor turns 6rpm vs 4rpm. Just test and tweek it to run well] At that point bucked lids are really cheap.

    hi thanks for the great video, you have provided the inspiration for me to start my own!
    the one problem i have is that the micro switches i have been able to buy (+/- 10 types of varying sizes) require a force greater than that of a 9mmP case (+/- 61 grains or 4 grams)
    can you provide a part number for the micro switch you used?

    • @jamezh2822

      The lever he has installed in the funnel provides mechanical advantage. You aren't going to find a micro switch that has that low of a trip point.
