The best part, for me, is the way the sliding jaw lifts up, from the base, due to the angular stress of clamping the piece of wood and no frame to hold it down. @8:52
Nice vice, but there is a reason they make them out of metal. Over tighten once and it’s going to crack. You need to beef up were the verticals meet the body with solid oak gussets.
I'm seeing a few saying it's click bait, the way I understand click bait is they put a pic up of something and show something else entirely. This isn't click bait, the pic is the project, granted it's unfinished but it's still the project. The pic is the internal hardware that's in the vice in it's unfinished state, if you keep watching you will see. I think it's good, it needs a bit of support maybe but still good. Good job on your vice, stay safe and Happy Building 💯😁
I think the whole thing is top-notch :-) I even liked irregular pattern of the base. Is there a specific purpose? Such as: fitting in a certain spot on your bench?
Brilliant work, Vanya! Really well done! 😃 Unfortunately, those screws are REALLY expensive here in Brazil, or even to buy from China... I'm tempted to buy a tap and die set to make screws and nuts out of wood. But I don't know yet, we shall see. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I have been wanting a vice, but they are kind of pricey. I love the design. But as one of the other commenters mentioned the picture didn’t give any clue as to what the video was about.
well done - however, a better, more accurate title to this would be "$10+ to build but you'll need many thousands of dollars of investment for the tools to build it." If that were the title, then it wouldn't be worth watching. Hartley [garden grove, CA usa]
It is sad when society in general and platforms in particular are so corrupted by advertising revenue that the only way a producer of value can succeed is by being dishonest.
Why did he offer up the bearing to mark out the wooden block then cut over size with out having msrked out for the ply and somehow the bearing and the plywood cheeks magically fit in the opening he’d cut?
Very early on you were cutting the "slot" for the linear bearing only just as wide as it is. 1:14 in, and the slot you took out of the oak is wider than the bearing. So I am concerned with your methods. Also, in the first part of the clip it was in INCHES then at the end it was centimeters. Which is it? Again, that to me is a bad sign you can't keep consistency with what you are building.
Good afternoon, thanks for your feedback! The fact is that my viewers are not only Americans and not everyone understands the imperial measurement system, viewers from other countries understand the metric measurement system. I'm trying to combine it, but it's not working out very well yet, as you noticed.
8 for the design. -100 for the click bait thumbnail and misleading title. Just say what you’re making and show a thumbnail of the design. People like maker stuff but hate gimmicks. You are better than that
Hello friends. How do you like the design and the sliding mechanism? Rate from 1 to 10!
Perfect design but the video thumbnail is little bit confusing however i rate it 10
Непрактично и не технологично, только красиво. Бутафорские тиски, вату зажимать ))
10
Might be a good thing, but it’s not what was in the picture. Quit it.
Absolutely Amazing and an exceptionally brilliant design and build project!
Well-done, Sir!
Good woodworking skilks can't be outdone.
Very nice and neat job.😊
Very cool vice project.
Worth a subscription and like.

Always amazing!
nice job thank u
I love it 😄
You nailed it.
Beautiful!
Good job 👍👏

you would have a great channel if you didnt click bait. I delete channels after the 2nd clickbait thumbnail.
Unfortunately, my channel works according to such algorithms, I wish you all the best!
Awesome job 🎉
Excellent!
Nice
Interesting, thanks.
Nice vice, but there is a reason they make them out of metal. Over tighten once and it’s going to crack. You need to beef up were the verticals meet the body with solid oak gussets.
Bro, great idea, as always! I liked your platform displacement mechanism, I'll take note of it)
Very nice.

The neighbor was surprised because it didn't look anything like the click bait picture.
Why not just put Plastic Jaws on a Vise?
Do you have a lathe in your workshop - classic case of building something you can buy less expensivly.
Que diámetro y paso de rosca tiene el tornillo que usas y donde conseguirlo? Gracias

Hi! Thank you for your assessment. I also think that making wooden screws myself is a great idea!
The price of metal screws really bites)
Не плохой планшет у тебя на маске однако!!😂
Nice job bro✌️
But… how exactly did you save 200$ ?
and don't forget... how exactly is it related to the thumbnail???
@@davidyoung518 Exactly
Sieht super aus. Top 👍
Thank you for appreciating my work so much!
Cool to see this made by a woodworker but why not buy a vise instead?
What’s with the clickbait? You have over 800k subs you don’t need to clickbait for views.
RUclips doesn't work the way you think it does. It's not that simple)
Your videos get hundreds of thousands of views. You are intentionally baiting for views. Says a lot about you my friend.
Yes, I use different methods to attract new viewers, but you have to agree that I don't force anyone to click) Any viewer can skip my video
@@hand_craft you forced me to click with a col thumbnail just to not have that item in your video.

Why not remove the wooden handle and add a Stepper motor and a micro controller and a foldable screen...
Исполнено артистично. Результат - сугубо для собственного развлечения (как тиски не годятся - автор сам продемонстрировал).
Cool idee
Do you have pdf plans with dimensions and hardware size etc..
Bait and switch. A big thumbs down for dishonesty

Only $10? 😂😂

💖
I think it's overengineered. The metal rod at the bottom is not needed. Could have been replaced by some channel where the wood could slide
I agree with you. But I always want to experiment and try something new)
What fun would it be if you couldn't over-engineer it.
❤
Can you share the plans?
Are the 10 bucks also for the tools used to build the vise ? If not then the whole video is a lie
Ah yes, $10 and $500 in tools and 20 man-hours. Wth
In what century $10?
Cost $10 plus $1000 in tools
No way does that cost $10.
$10 in 1960?
Can't you just mention what it is so we don't have to sit through the whole video just to find out we don't care.

Not another vise....... Use some imagination and create something else besides another vise..
10$ ?????
$10🤕
