- Ferdinand Porsche famously said “I couldn’t find the sportscar of my dreams, so I built it myself.” This would eventually lead to one of motorsport’s most famous brands with countless wins at Le Mans and the most famous sportscar ever built: the Porsche 911. Porsche defied all engineering logic by placing the engine in the back and actually making it work brilliantly. In the meantime, their efforts on the race track were nothing to be ashamed of either. Quite the contrary even. With the Porsche 917, they basically ruled WSC for two years straight outclassing everyone else. Many of the records the 917 set at Le Mans in 1971 stand to this day. Even the distance record remained unbeaten for over 40 years. During the Group C era, the 956 and 962 brought the brand numerous wins at Le Mans. In 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988, the 956 and 962 took the entire top 10 except for 2 places year after year, even winning 4 out of those 5 years. in 1983, 9 out of 10 cars that finished first at Le Mans was a Porsche 956. This incredible result was later famously paired with the saying “nobody’s perfect.” Of course Porsche made more iconic cars than the Porsche 917 and 956/962. So today, “From The Archives” will contain videos of all major Porsche sports and race cars at full chat.

About "From The Archives": Back in December of 2012, HistoricRacingHD was formed. Its foundations were an undeniable passion for cars and the desire to share that passion with the world. Over the next years, HistoricRacingHD would redefine the online video world of Historic Race Cars , with a relentless focus on the sounds these stunning machines produce when they're racing on the most iconic and legendary tracks of Europe. Since 2012, we, Robin Wouters and Arne Hintermaier (founders of the channel), have travelled far and wide to find the loudest, most striking, weirdest and most magnificent historic race cars to bring them to your screen. 2012, however, was a long time ago, meaning that over the years, we have built up a massive archive of videos featuring race cars from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s racing at tracks like Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps, Dijon Prenois, the Nürburgring, Hockenheim, Goodwood, and many, many more other tracks. With “From The Archives” we aim to bring back the best of everything we have ever filmed, simply for your enjoyment. You’ll see, as the videos are released, that “From The Archives” is divided into a large array of topics, meaning that at some point, your own favourite topic will be featured. So, do you care to join us to dive deep into the HistoricRacingHD archives? Be sure to strap yourself in and hold on tight, cause this will be an epic journey! Make sure to add the FTA playlist to your favourites and subscribe to HistoricRacingHD with the bell notification active to see all future uploads of "From The Archives"!
Cheers, Robin & Arne

That litte 935 baby sounds even a bit angrier than its bigger brethren. Amazing video, as always!
Love the 911 GT1! Wish those days of Prototype racing could come back 👍🏻
Wonderful cars, wonderful engines and sound, great pilots 😎
21:10 Not a 934 yet, a 911 Carrera turbo (1974).
21:46 : a 934/5 (a 934 with a 935 rear including intercooler)
This video is just wonderful.
The 917 "hippie" art car is probably one of the most beautiful looking and sounding sports cars ever built
The 910 is by far my favorite 😍
The 904 is such a sexy car, I have to mention this even on the reupload of this video :-)
The 908 Spider. OMG, what a dream.
and 917K is over the top. Sexiest car ever built. :-)
What is that team jacket they are wearing at 15:00 please? Love it! and the cars
Wicked Collection!
Fabulous!! It's a shame there's no video of the two F1 cars Porsche produced. I suppose they ate not put on the track because they are so rare....?
You talking about the Footworks Porsche cars? There are other Porsche powered F1 cars though.
@@trance9158 I'm talking about the 804 and its predecessor...1962 winner at Reims...
Every Porsche ever built is a race car!
La musique des Flat-6 et Flat-12 🤪👏
A mechanical symphony indeed.
Best Brand Ever in all; no doubt ;) (My favourites brands Ferrari and MV Agusta; it's not a joke)
For me Porsche is other level...
18:04 probably approaching 100 MPH it still wants to bring that ass end around with a quickness!
Porsches 👌😉
How come this video got pull and reupload?
A few small details went wrong after rendering/uploading. We fixed that and reuploaded it :)
HistoricRacingHD Alright fair enough

No 550, no 907.
Where is Derek Bell's Lowenbrau 962? It's missing...this whole vid is a wash.
Because the joest rothmans 962c is there, that won literally everything... For years
No RS Spyder or 919? Poor.
