I use the Ryobi battery system and they make a similar soldering iron...my main concern was how long the usage period would be; their cordless hot glue gun uses up the battery pretty quick. Still, it seems like a battery-powered system would be fine for light hobby use...
Yes, seen those too. So far this Craftsman works as I wanted it to. I have two Hakkos and several ol Wellers. I didn't need another but enjoy trying them.

It’s actually smoother than the Dremels I have. Very quiet. Of course some of them have many years on them.
Mine shutdown with any kind of pressure just to cut a nail it will shutdown 5 to 10 times depending on nail size
