After watching this and other reviews I bought an EBW808 today. Beautiful guitar with a great sound. i would recommend this guitar if you want something a bit different. Joins my 2nd hand TE1 95 model.
That is all going to depend on your playing style. The cedar of the SRS is a softer wood so in turn you don't have to drive it as hard to get the volume of the harder blackwood. The way I play and the pick I use (.96 cellulose) I can get more volume from the SRS.The EBW would definately require a harder pick attack for volume. If you are a finger picker or lighter picker I would go with an SRS.
@@ArtisanGuitars Some people say that cedar tops have less dynamics - start to compress sound earlier. Do you think blackwood top would have broader dynamic range?
I’ve owned EBG 808te and currently play EBW 808. Both guitars are fantastic! I do not favor one over the other. So at the price point, EBW all the way. If you are not concerned with price, the Tommy model is super nice as well! Point is, every one I’ve ever played feels/sounds/looks equally great. The pickup system is just unbelievable. So plugged in especially, you’d never tell the difference.
