Hey Steve, I agree with y’all completely! How should we Orthodox Christians view the Metaverse? I heard you can attend church service now in it… 😔 Honestly, by God’s grace, I haven’t had Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat except RUclips for 4 years. The best decision I had ever made because I got to focus more on my life with Christ, family, friends, and everybody.
@@stevenchristoforou1667 / Steve don’t be sarcastic… I know your hair length is least important - that you’re loyal to Orthodox Gospel instead of secular liberal world but it’s worth noting , ok? p.s. I sent you email & it didn’t go - guess you’re no longer working at Archdiocese?
@@Andyelmasry This Baptist lady wants to give a shout out to my Orthodox brothers and sisters, especially my Coptic ones. Why? On the Saturday before Palm Sunday this year, my husband and I were in NYC. He was not acting like himself and I was having an anxiety attack. We popped into a Coptic church that I believe God sent me to. My husband chewed the priest's ear off, and his son and a few younger women(maybe late high school or college) sat with me while I collected myself. My husband was not well at all and needed to be hospitalized the next day, and it turned out that he was struggling with Bipolar disorder. I really appreciate that they helped out a few complete strangers on a very cloudy and confusing day.
Thank you Steve and Christian! Very good video, it reminds me of one thing C.S. Lewis said in his essay The Weight of Glory: "We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."
Thank you for everything as someone who’s been learning about my heritage and church listening to your videos for years but finally taking steps the past couple months with this being my one true faith you’ve been incredibly helpful. I’ve found my place at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Willimantic CT where Fr Marc has been tremendous and extremely welcoming. As I put it, the faith I started in as a child, now returned to serve the lord! God bless you Steve and everyone at Y2AM and again thank you for all the hard work to help educate and help make things make sense with a simple approach. God grant you all many years
The next one takes things a bit deeper, both theological and psychologically. I'm pretty happy with how the script turned out. Currently working on the video!
Well said, Steve and Christian! I love this kind of content. It seems like Be the Bee has evolved from the earlier kind of fun videos to lighthearted conversations about important matters. I've been sending them to my friends and family and it's helped us explore Orthodoxy more in-depth. Your remark at 10:36 reminds of James 3:1, "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness." Also, I recently set time limits on my phone and over the last week or two have seen my screen time drop noticeably. I've devoted more time to reading and am about to finish Met Anthony Bloom's classic "Beginning to Pray". Next is "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis and then "Everywhere Present" by Fr Stephen Freeman. I don't say this to pat myself on the back because I certainly still need to spend more "drinking deeply of the Church's wisdom" as you say at 9:55. And before anyone says anything, yes, I know C.S. Lewis was Anglican, not Orthodox 🙂 I say all this because I want to encourage anyone who is still reading my comment that you *can* change for the better. Take small steps and put a plan into practice. Work on it daily and you'll see the changes you've wanted to experience.
Great video kings. This is one where I can proclaim myself the chief among sinners and actually mean it! Such a cross we have been given with the internet. May God have mercy on us. Steven, are you related to Alex Christoforou from the Duran, by chance? I noticed the last name, and with the beard you bear a resemblance as well.
Nope, just a coincidence I suppose.
I am surprised that no where in this video did i hear the scripture: Be not in the world, be in the spirit of god (summed)
Surprised why?
“Double tapping a few Orthodox memes can delude us…”
Please say this louder for the neckbeard arm chair theologians in the back of the room?
I think we all need to hear this. I had myself in mind as I wrote the episode.
I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about....
Why the tie? Without a jacket it looks like you’re working in an office or in a job interview. ...it’s distracting.
I don't know, I rather like the casual tie/short combo. Sorry my terrible fashion taste is distracting!
