Raiden Shogun Story Quest “Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act 2 - Transient Dreams” | Genshin Impact

- Опубликовано: 3 окт 2024
- In this video, we explore Part 2 Act 2 of Raiden Shogun Story Quest - Imperatrix Umbrosa Transient Dreams. In this story, we were able to meet Raiden Shogun’s puppet, Raiden Shogun Boss, as well as Raiden Shogun and Raiden Ei.
The Adventurers’ Guild in Inazuma seems to have a commission concerning the Sacred Sakura. We met Raiden Ei and took this opportunity to talk with Raiden about her cherished friends and the Inazuma she wants to protect. Afterwards we went to Kamisato Estate, went to Grand Narukami Shrine and the Secret Realm, and defeated Raiden Shogun. In Raiden Makoto’s remnant realm of consciousness, Raiden Ei and Raiden Shogun Puppet engage in an endless fight. Afterwards, we once again force our way into the Secret Realm to fight Raiden Shogun, witnessing the end of the long battle and the begging of the dream, as we finally talk to Raiden Ei and Yae Miko.

The most shocking part about this quest is that we finally got a reveal about Ishtarot's existence within the story, and how the flow of time works. And Makoto basically played a big 5 chess game, with the Sakura Tree's existence and more about Khanre'iah's destruction.
EXPLAIN. Pls. I want to know what you learned about istaroth’s existence, and how makoto played chess and who is “higher power” Makoto took help from which Ei talked about during the end 1:23:56 to be exact. I’m dumb soz.
Istaroth is one of the shades of the primordial one. she was one of the god that was worshipped in mondstatd once but was later forgotten. the thousand wind temple is dedicated to her. she is also the one who heard the prayers of the people of enkanomiya and later gave the knowledge to abrax to build the helios
@@peptobismolveins Well this lore is newly discovered in Enkanomiya. Basically there is a higher god which known as "Primordial God". He Is an outlander god who came to that world.
The Primordial God had 4 phane and Istaroth (the god of time) is one of his phane. In Raiden quest they mentioned about the involvement of Istaroth when we enter Makoto's realm but no further info about it. But Yae thinks that it was strange that we successfully enter Makoto's realm without the help of Ei. She told us about a turbulence that helped us.
Makoto also said in this story quest that "the archon's" are forced to go to Khanreiah.
@@aurelian3268 wait, who's kairos then?

Her voice acting has truly given this more depth. I've cried so many times and I'm not even halfway through.
Seriously. Her voice actress is top tier. I really felt the emotion in her voice
exactly omg. i BAWLED my eyes out in the final cutscene and part of it is the incredible voice acting. this game in general is incredible, i would have never imagined that a game from a relatively small company could release a game as good or even better than some modern day animes.
I thought it’s only me 😭😭 This story quest sure hits hard than anything else
@@matchamojo1271 seriously its way too good that i forgot the inazuma archon quest existed. They really did her justice.
Yes, im also cried alot when doing this quest😭
Mad props to Anne Yatco for voicing all THREE different aspects of the Electro Archon as a whole (Makoto, Ei, the puppet) and gave them distinct vocal inflections each!
I don’t here a difference between the three at all. Just one sounds slightly higher, but then dips back down to the same range that it’s difficult to tell them apart. After listening to the JP version, you can hear a deep contrast between the three.
@@anon7730 Ok Okay, JP version is the best of the best, Happy now? Ugh.. both Eng and JP VA are top tier plus Talented and yet because of some "Weeb" who worship JP version so much that they just have to reply in every single comment that praising Eng version with " JAPaNeSe vErsiOn iS bETter". Just enjoy it the way you liked but don't force others to do the same please..
@@anon7730 check you ears my man, you can easily tell the difference between them.
@@anon7730 I listened to the JP version and I think the differences are quite the same (pun intended, haha!). Miyuki-san also uses the same vocal inflections as Anne's: high for Makoto, semi-high/mid/semi-low for Ei, and low for the Shogun.
For the EN version, I can hear the differences in their manner of speaking as well. Makoto's is slightly "floaty:" airy, and a bit slower. Ei's is less airy, and has slightly more presses in it. The Shogun's is direct, pressing, and sudden. This is also reflective of their personalities as well. For the JP and CN versions, I don't have much comments, because I don't speak them.
I wouldn't say JP has a "deep contrast," but "subtle" like the EN one, and I think it's executed well. Not only they share one VA, they also reflect the lore that these three are different facets of the Electro Archon, too.
Overall, I believe the VAs did a wonderful job in depicting the emotional weights in this story quest, so I'd say, mad props to them! 😁
@@anon7730 Think you're just deaf dude, better check in on your ears
Lore wise Ei was already insanely powerful and this story quest just gave her a power boost through her weapon, also the fact that she can fight an equally matched opponent(herself) for centuries, damn.
Honestly, we should have seen that coming. Her weapon was inherited from her sister, but because she never understood her sister's will or perspective, it makes sense from a story perspective why she couldn't use it's full power.
Though now that you mention it, I think Ei is like the only one of the Archons so far who are still growing both in maturity and power. Zhongli and Venti are like retired, while Ei continues to grow.
@@Stormraider821 I would love to see her fight with the God of War(Murata).

It’s crazy how Ei went from my least favorite character storywise, to probably one of my favorites in one story quest. Props to Mihoyo for addressing the problems with her writing
It’s because she has one of the best lore if not the best, it was just not well executed
This story quest was absolutely compulsory.
Its because the first quest is setup imo. The 3rd act of her first story quest (the kamado thing) is nice, its just that first quest is horribly executed even of concepts discussed (nature of eternity) is sloppily done. The 2nd quest is ei at 100% emotional damage capacity after reading those light novels for angst ideas lol
I know the first was setup but it could be more then I read her story 5 and was hoping we could one day see it and as just as I thought it turned out like that with the puppet
Finally! Some good lore dump the one that Zhongli couldn't speak off. The truth and the destruction of Khanreiah. I can't blame Zhongli for not telling. Ei was the direct victim from the Khanreiah war,
This one knocked it out the park. Best Story Quest so far in the game. it is simply outstanding, with better writing, Anne Yatco unironically proving why sometimes Eng VA's are not as bad as the general consensus may think. and a very climactic battle full of inspiration quotes, engaging dialogue, and kickass punchlines.
You know what thought it's amazing of this quest... is just how much heart Ei's/Raiden Shogun voice actress and how much emotions she put during every line about Ei's and Makoto's past. She did an incredible job i think at some point during the moment where we come back with the Tea set to the blind man ( forgot his name) im not sure but her voice seemsto crack a little, meanibg that, she really got emotional while voicing it. Great job
Eh. But have you heard the JP version? It’s way more emotional and you can actually tell the stark difference between Ei, Makoto, and the Puppet.
@@anon7730 Who cares? This person was just saying how much the English VA was doing a very good job at delivered the emotions though the voice line. BUTTT "someone" who can't stand it then reply "bUt tHe jP vErsiOn iS wAy mOrE eMotiOnAl"

I litterally cried so hard when Ei was revealing what happened 500 years ago with Makoto. Not that we didn't know Makoto died, but we got much more details here, and even more importantly, Anne Yatco did a wonderful job here... all the sadness, the pain in her voice, I just couldn't help but sobbing uncontrollably at 4 AM in my bed.

She's such a great voice actress. Her voice breaking in sadness is superb acting!
Normally I just want to skip the dialoge fast but as soon I noticed EI´s voice breaking.... I gave her all my attention and time she deserves meanwhile apreciate the voice acting and meet EI more

@@bladefier1954 I already know and I just want to add something. In the past versions. Mihoyo was using in-game assets for cut scenes. It's a good thing that they now consistently put pre-rendered scenes instead.

It's interesting to see that Shogun uses a polearm while Ei uses a sword. Ei's weapon is a polearm too but she's using Makoto's sword because it's remind her memories of her sister. Here, you can see that Ei haven't really forgot her past but that the Shogun really don't feel anything. There's the difference between puppet and master.

Amazing quest. It really humanized Ei and showed her personal growth beautifully. Man I just wanted to give her a big ol hug during the quest. She deserves to be happy and I'm so glad she decided to grasp the future for her people and for herself. I love Ei so much
The big thing is the fact that aside from the war on Khaenri'ah, lots of monsters also attack Inazuma at the same time.. Pretty sure that Makoto is like Orobashi who knows a lot of things which is why the Celestia wants her dead.. Makoto maybe knows about her fate which is why she device a plan that can help Inazuma and Ei in the future and it's also one of the reason why she didn't say anything to Ei.. Since before, Ei sacrifice herself for Makoto to become an Archon so now Makoto definitely wants Ei to live..
Makoto's ideal and the Sacred Sakura is against the heavenly principles so it's very possible that Celestia killed her
Yeah this makes a lot of sense. I was thinking why there was no explanation on why Makoto left alone to fight in Kaenri'ah, cuz as u said it's a big thing. Now i think that maybe they will explain in the future, Orobashi was executed by either Makoto or Ei bcs Celestia needed it, so Makoto must definitely know the ways of Celestia. And also Ei in in this quest did speculate about Makoto leaving her behind bcs she wanted to put herself infront of Ei and keep her hidden to shield Ei. Anyways Ei seems completely clueless about everything, ruled Inazuma together with Makoto and yet no idea about how to handle the land, nor does she know much about Celestia. Hopefully gonna hear about this in Enkonomiya event
@@firefly_0619 what? Really? If you dont mind me asking what's her ideal and how does that go against them? I thought she wanted a future for inazuma to move forward?
@@SpikeTheWolf yeah, that problems. If they move forward (become strongth enough par with celestia), it's possible Inazuma become the new generation of Khanreah.

1:26:16 Look at who Yae is looking at when she says "So this time, it looks like thanks are due to you." And the way the line is emphasized. The whole conversation at the shrine might as well be conformation that Paimon is Istaroth.
Huh, never thought about it that way
F o r e s h a d o w i n g
oh shit, dont do that man, dont give me a theory that makes sense so early on in the story.
Ohhh that makes more sense now. Yae did mention a turbulent force helping us reach Ei which was alluding to Istartoth. Makes even more sense if it was Paimon.
I thought the same. Also Yae insisted Paimon to accompany us when we entered the realm to rescue Ei. It is possible that Paimon doesn't know who herself actually is. Consider Istaroth has the power to influence time, Paimon might a version of Istaroth before she was a god or she lost her memories somehow. Also after this story, the causality of events in Tevyt has become much more blurred. Now we don't really know which event caused which. If anyone watched star trek next generations before, there is an episode where an event haven't in the future affect the past. So maybe Paimon will become Istaroth at the end of the story.

the abyss are the people of khaenriah
I don't think all of the people of khaen'riah created the monsters and we only know rhinedottir (aka gold) created those

This story reveal how strong primodial istaroth must be still alive in another time line it just jump timeline future or past so that why all the monstadt had forgotten his existence due to a paradox that made him feel as if istarorth had never been there and was like ei who was hit by a paradox because makoto rewinded time and made ei plant seeds for remove all paradox in future. So all monstadt people get paradox and no one remember istarorth is, like ei doesn't remember sacred sakura tree who has been plant by herself
of course she's alive. she's been right next to you this whole time xD
Istatoth = Paimon
Between 1:28:57 Ei's troubles with Yae and Yae's impression of Kamisato Ayato I can make a new meme:
Yae: You cannot defeat me
Ei: I know, but he can
*Kamisato Ayato makes huge entrance*
Ayato, while sipping on his Teyvat Boba: now this looks like a job for me, Almighty Shogun.
? WHST
It sucks that Ei couldn’t help us with the Khaenriah disaster. Seems like she was in the same boat at Venti, who was supposedly not there for the events of Khaenriah either. But at least we managed to get some more bit of information regardless.
Atleast ei says something happent about khaenriah while venti and zhongli isn't
She did tell us something about Khanr'iah though eventhough if it was little. Far better than Zhongli.
@@yakz9600 maybe venti was still asleep while it happen? and some in the comments said that zhongli was threatened and was sworn to secrecy

Spoiler?
Well based on what we know know now, Ei was not involve in Khaenri'ah's destruction, only Makoto was. So Im gonna take note of that and cross her off the list of who's involve during Khaenri'ah's destruction
Cross of the list?💀
What are you planning?
@@bladefier1954 Im just listing people to know who has was involve during Khaenri'ah's fall. For figuring out lore purposes
@@bladefier1954 Zhongli and Venti are still on the list, yes?
@@v.emiltheii-nd.8094 Yes. Although Venti is on the "Maybe Involved" part on my list since I am unsure if he was involved or not. Cause they said that he was alseep for 500 years & had awoken around the year the Traveler was around. Im not sure if it's true or not
@@LunarEclipsa1026 pretty much canon. the cataclysm happened due to monster created by rhinedottir spewed out of khaenriah into teyvat. venti alongside dvalin was fighting against durin to protect mondstadt which caused dvalin to be injured and his blood to be poisoned, and also for venti to fall asleep for hundreds of years for exhausting his power, so during the cataclysm, venti was busy defending mond from durin.
THIS NICE EVEN I DON'T PLAY THIS GAME I LIKE WATCHING FULL STORY NOT JUST CLIPS. SOON WATCHING FULL VIDEO PLEASE KEEP THIS AND I ALWAYS WATCHING.
For now... This is my favorite story quest.
lmao yae at 1:28:50 really is so cheeky and ei making that face really makes their whole relationship so perfect
I didnt know what dreams and ambitions meant until now 😳😳
Ei:i Know kaneriah
Ei:i in there for 500 years ago...
I love this story quest
I can’t wait to get raiden
Yooo the OST when Ei is fighting the Raiden Shogun is LIT
This quest hits hard on another level... it just takes Thor's hammer and slams it into your gut. No sugarcoating, and all this delicious information drops about Khaenreah and other things >:D Yes.This is what I needed, more delicious lore
hello, i use your video to make a raiden edit, thank you so much!! have a very very nice day! ❤️
58:39 I like how easy it is to discern the shogun and ei. Anne yatco did an amazing job voicing them
this part 2 iof ei's story quest is more depressing.
The way paimon compliments Ei's power is enough to convince me that she's the strongest
Kratos slamms her
I believe that Paimon is Istaroth (God of Time) but it seems she has no memories at all.
BUT, at the end of the Labyrinth event, Paimon told Shiki Taisho that he would be able to get his true form if he remembers something from the past (or something similar) which could also be an easter egg for Paimon. If she learns about something from the past and understands who she truly is.
BTW, I don't think Paimon would betray the traveller and become evil (alot of people think that from what Enjou said in Enkanomiya), more like once she discovers that she should be the one to end the rule of Celestia, she doesn't want the MC to get involved in this so she pushes the MC away to keep them safe, her friendship with the Traveller definitely seems to be genuine so their parting will surely be emotional.
From what we have seen so far, Istaroth seems to be immensely powerful cuz not only did her powers planted the Sacred Tree back in time, everyone within the vicinity (Inazumans) had altered memories and always believed that the Tree already existed.
Makoto said that the Sacred Tree can bloom finally free from the clutches of the Heavenly Principles, means that Istaroth's powers defy the Heavenly Principles. One of the heavenly principles, is that anyone is affected by Erosion throughout Time but it seems Istaroth's powers goes against it.
Really can't wait for the Traveller to understand about it in the Main Story cuz these are only mentioned in the Lore.
If I could give her a hug, I would 🥺😭
My jaw dropped when i learned that Ei was continously fighting for 500 years
This was a big step up from raiden's first story quest, kinda reminds me of zhongli's story quest with azhdaha, rich full of lore, story progession, and character development, absolutely love it
The Sakura blossom symbolizes a time of of renewal, a symbol of rebirth...
Sakura trees will usually only bloom for about two weeks from the end of March and into early April before "dying"...however, so long as they are taken care of they can continue to live and bloom for many years to come. It is for this reason that Sakura blossoms symbolize hope and positivity.
The symbolism is evident in end of this quest.
Well said. Just as these trees don't last forever, neither does human life. In this metaphor, Ei is trying to keep Sakura trees alive forever, but in doing so, she looses out on their beautiful blossoms. In contrast, Makoto cherishes each moment they bloom, taking proper care of them to ensure they will bloom again. When both are achieved, the result is Inazuma today, a nation that will not only last forever, but also constantly "blooms," full of ambition. The eternal beauty in these ambitions and the eternal peace of an everlasting nation is unchanging in the Eternity Ei promises.
I just replayed this quest yesterday. I had no idea how rich the writing was, and I forgot just how beautiful this quest was. I'm glad to have been able to experience it.
Here's my take: the siblings arrived at teyvat before what happened in khanrei'ah, and were separated by the unknown god, the other sibling woke up first, but he/she started with khanrei'ah unlike us who started with Mondstadt, according to raiden, monsters showed up in Inazuma because of what happened in khanrei'ah, those rifthounds are from another world and were trying to slice the space between worlds to bring stronger monsters into Inazuma, this means that khanrei'ah was much much much more advanced than the other nations, my theory is that the other sibling is the reason that khanrei'ah reached such development, since both of them are from other world, the other sibling probably made a device that allows the worlds to connect to each other in hopes of finding his/her sibling, the unknown god strikes again and destroys khanrei'ah, khanrei'ah was probably on a good terms with other nations, to the point that the archons tried to prevent the disaster, Morax for example tried to prevent the disaster but was threatened with the safety of liyue, thus he made a contract to not interfere so that liyue doesn't get destroyed, barbatos had a similar thing happen to him, thus those two survived and the only remaining of the original seven, the other 5 archons either died of war or died in khanrei'ah, the cryo archon was affected to the point of cutting ties with barbatos and hunting gnosis, citizens of khanrei'ah were cursed and turned to monsters of abyss and dain was cursed with immortality, after the disaster the other sibling was powerless and started a journey all over teyvat to restore his/her power, and was able to communicate with the abyss order since he/she was important fellow back then, the abyss decided to follow him/her, centuries later you woke up and has to discover all of that
*Lumine = abyss princess.
Rifthounds are from another world? didn't Gold created them? gahh im sorry, I'm a little confused
@@jeweldimapilis2284 yup Gold aka Albedo's master and creator created the rifthounds
Just for ur info, the rifthounds are created by Gold or Rhinedottir. Albedo's Creator.

It's actually a good thing since this is Ei's fight..

Makoto's mindset is something that makes me like her. We also get to see more of Ei and now i really feel like Inazuma will be a better place.

Yo just saying this is the most many times we hear what happened 500yrs ago plus Khaenri 'ah from an archons mouth 😅 and I'm I the only one who cried when ei reunited we her twin makoto? Sigh wonder when will travelers be reunited..
