Hilversum is located in the Gooi. This is an area in the south of the province of North Holland on the side of Utrecht.
Hilversum is known as a media city, all public broadcasters and some commercial broadcasters have their offices here.
Its excellent accessibility by car as well as public transport makes Hilversum a very attractive to place to live and work.
Hilversum is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe, and the Amsterdam metropolitan area.
The city is home to the headquarters, studios and broadcast stations of several major radio, television, newspaper companies. This means that Hilversum is known for being the media stad (media city) of the Netherlands.

Jeemig, d'r is zo te zien nog al het een en ander verandert sinds 1970. Geweldig dat allemaal zo te kunnen zien en heel blij dat de Febo, Hema en C&A er nog steeds zijn. Ja, die C&A, daar heb ik ooit eens zomerbaantje gehad. Allemaal zo lang geleden en op deze video, nog steeds klote weer. Groetjes van nu, al voor een halve eeuw, uit Canada. Ja hoor, Hilversum, nog steeds ee geweldige topper!
