hahaha i'd say the yygs online program might not have been as fun as the on-campus program but it was honestly really great for me to get to know the most amazing people all over the world! it was def an eye-opening experience. def apply and see how it goes!

yes ofc! i don't know exactly what will get you in YYGS but as long as you can show your interest and fondness for the two activities then that will only help with your application.
@@genesiscastro5972for essays like write what they are asking about but should be well structured, good story telling little bit emotional and what I did was I start the main essay from third-person perspective and for recommendation letter, my maths teacher wrote the letter with me at school so this also played a main role. The main part of my application was my olympiad, stem competetion and I was also working in a NGO.
thank you! unless you get financial aid you'll have to pay for your flights as well :( they are known to be quite generous with giving financial aid tho so if you think you qualify for that you should definitely apply for it too!

glad this video was helpful! YYGS looks at your application holistically so there are many other components they look at other than your grades like your activities, awards and essays. so my recommendation would be to not be dragged down too much by your grades and focus more on perfecting your essays! i also review my YYGS essays again in another video on my channel if you want to check it out for more tips :)

Just a small doubt... In the application form activities section there is a question 'How many hours you spent in a week'. Does it matter to answer that question cuz I don't remember how many hours I spent in my activities
Sorry it's been a while since I filled out my application so I'm not too sure! Assuming they won't let you skip the question, just give your best estimate, just make sure you don't put down an unrealistic number or it could negatively impact your chances. Hope that helped! :)

I was fortunate to not need financial aid so I didn't apply. For the 2020 application cycle they were need-aware, so your chances of getting admitted would decrease if you applied. They haven't said anything about the 2021 application cycle though, so fingers crossed!
