South Africa's squad is ready to take on any challenge and pack a serious punch. Big shoutout to Hugo Broos for bringing out the best in our players; he’s definitely one of the best coaches we’ve ever had!
@@Joe_Ndlozi Okay okay okay! All the praise of the world you are giving to South Africa because you are a South African yourself. With all the local and Young talented players you mention, how many CHAN did South Africa won? Because CHAN is exclusively an African competition for all the local players.
No need to be rude. Asking like that just doesn’t work. Just so you know, South Africa doesn’t bring in "first team" players for the CHAN and COSAFA tournaments. They go with younger guys playing in the lower leagues. Most of the players who finished third at AFCON are actually first team players, and a lot of them are from Mamelodi Sundowns and other top teams. These are the same guys who beat Morocco twice back to back and Nigeria also couldn't beat them in 90 minutes at AFCON and World cup qualifiers.

South Africa at no. 4 favourites 😢? We prayed for times like these 🙏 Only losing 1 game in regulation time (against Mali) and the other in penalties (against Nigeria) the whole year. It's been a good year Indeed.
No one gave Nigeria the chance at the 2023 nationa cup, a lot of people thought we might be sent home at the group stage but we ended up playing the final, between now and 13 months a lot can change, once we figure out our coaching issues.

Morocco is on fire, it's the team to beat. Nigeria has the pedigree to win any tournament. SA depends on the performance of Sundowns and Pirates in the Caf Champions league. Good analyses.
I think AFCON is the most difficult tournament to predict. Teams like Nigeria can pick up despite poor form. The tournament is about 12 months away and a lot can change. Morocco still remains favourites however, I think they might crumble as teams understand how they play. Also, pressure to win the tournament might play out.
Nigeria chances of winning the cup is directly proportional to the amount of flogging they receive before entering into a game not minding the opponent. .. eg if dey game against a weak opponent and u gave eagles 1 Kane per player dey could draw the game . If dey have a game with strong team and u gave each 4 strokes of Kane dey will win the game. That is Nigeria for u
But, I still have huge respect to teams/nations who always qualify even when we had 16 nations format. Of course with 24 nations it gives more slots to other nations to quality too. Nations like Cameroun, DR. Congo, Ghana, Tunisia, Nigeria, or even Zambia, they don't miss the AFCON easily, unfortunately for Ghana this time.
How can Zambia the 2012 african champions a country that just topped an afcon qualifying group with the current african champion be a tier three team with sudan, Tanzania and comoros rated above them? Let's wait for the tournament.
And what is interesting is that he clearly does not have a proper reason for placing them there, 😂 he just have his doubts about them. I would not put zambia as a first tier team but second last in tier three behind teams like Mozambique, benin, tanzania, comoros, uganda, sudan, eq. Woah so many teams in tier 1. Morocco have been good in the last 3 qualifiers (2 AFCONs & 1 World Cup) because they play away matches at home. They still make Tier 1 though because North African sides are strong at home and they'll probably get a favorable group and KO draw. My tier 1 (title contenders) would be Morocco, Algeria, Egypt (home advantage and form) + South Africa and Senegal because they win matches they are supposed to win (to steal your line). I expect at least two of these teams in the semifinals.
But we did beat gabon 5-1 in gabon its not our fault that many african nations dont have certified staduims so they play in morocco because the federation hosts them for free unlike cameron or south africa for exemple plus afcon is at home so there is no point of beating teams outside morocco

Firstly, in tournaments, especially the AFCON, there are teams that tou don't write off no matter the form they qualified with, a good example of that is nigeria, Nigeria makes it into the semi finals of every AFCON tournament at least, despite their coaching problems or lack of results in the qualifiers. Also you have to remember they are capable of going all the way in the next one considering they have individual talents that can turn up at the big stages. Ranking them second tier and behind countries like Angola and Dr Congo is a bit careless and doesn't really depict a team that is supposed to be feared . It is fair to say Nigeria has an FA and coaching problem in their football, however, when the chips are down, Nigeria is totally capable of beating any team in Africa on their good day, trust me. I can only talk about Morocco and senegal as teams that are capable of beating nigeria and going head to head with them in a major tournament as their match.
