- Redacted Painting or Negative Space Painting is a great way to turn a random piece of paper or an artwork that didn't quite work out, into something lovely!

Thanks Julie! Great technique for a lot of reasons. So glad you believe in good art supplies for your son … it makes a difference!
How fun to create art together with your Little One!! Great memories and also great for his self-confidence, plus of course it turned out so nicely. I particularly like the scratched in circles you added later. My Baby Girl helped me gesso a large canvas last week which was super fun. Of course she's almost 30 ... but seriously, we've been doing art together her whole life and it's just nice.
When you said it feels 'more like an art journal page than a piece of art', I felt that. My goodness, I felt that. I'm in exactly that place in my art practice at the moment - trying to find my own art style that feels like 'art' (to me) rather than another of my art journal pages. It's hard. It takes a lot of play and exploration, and I know I'll get there... eventually. You've taught me a lot over the years, though, that I'm using to help me in this process.
Again. Love it !!! I may try this today. I love making backgrounds!!!!! Love u girl
I love this technique and I use it very often. I tend to see flowers in every background, monoprint or random painted page I make, haha!
Thanks, Julie! Great idea. Best wishes, Sondra Borrie
