Cool stuff thanks for sharing your shop. I got three great ideas from you that I'll make some changes to my garage. Portable bandsaw wall mount, storage for paint cans, and casters or wheels for my portable welding table to roll around, right now I drag it across the floor.

You have a well thought out use of work space.
It's funny your space is almost exactly the same size as my primary space.
I got two 20' containers spaced 14' apart , and the flat roof is made using 16'. X 2.0" x 10." , spaced 12" on center (one foot on top of each container for support). I know it's over kill, but I'm in New England and we can get lots of snow.
    Another good video.
    Take care Bud.

Great use of space. There is a saying "Make your shop big because it always gets smaller. Choose your girlfriends small because they may get bigger." I put everything in my shop on wheels so I can move it out of the way if I don't need to use it. If I was you, I would keep my eye out for a used Bridgeport in good condition. It will be your new, best dance partner in your shop. It will pay for itself. I don't miss my fiberglass days. I repaired fiberglass race cars to support my racing habit. I started itching as soon as I saw the rolls of matte in your shop. Nasty stuff.
Thank you for making a well produced video. Maybe you can do an update in a couple years.

Alex -- since I'm new here I'm doing a bit of jumping around. I'm still (carefully) using my HF 14" chop saw and after seeing yours I have to ask what I should think about in an upgrade when I'm ready. Thanks for your help always.

yup working small has it's drawbacks but also it's benefits. the benefits are it FORCES one to "think" and be creative with organization. if/when you don't have square footage...? then GO VERTICAL and place stuff overhead, 7ft gives enough clearance for both walking and storage items but also leaves those items just with in arms reach without needing any sort of step stool to access (which would only be in the way 90% of the time).

The Evolution saw IS a game changer for sure. I absolutely love mine, worth every penny. I love your ceiling mounted sono tubes for material storage. Think I may just try that in my shop. The ceiling is about the ONLY open space left in my 3 car garage shop. Nice video young man 👍🏼👍🏼

Alex - me again; when using the evo saw, is there any hazard I should be aware of in cleaning up stray chips with a shop vac? Thanks

    • @amcustomfab

They can definitely be sharp. I have a magnet on a stick that releases the polarity that I used to clean up the majority of it and then I do the final cleanup with a shop vac

    Alex,
I really enjoy your videos, I am an old back yard mechanic and recently purchased a Primeweld cut 50d, I love to weld and have Gas, wire feed and arc welders. I was doing Tig welding in the 70's and in all that time I have never watched a video that explains the process better than yours do, I do have 1-2 questions for you, do you rest the tip of the plasma cutter directly on the material or do toy use one of those small wire clips to raise the tip off the metal. Would you add extra air dryers to the compressed air and if so what type do you recomend.
Thank you very much, I haven't watched all of your videos yet but I will.
    Take care

You either want to use the wire clip standoff or you can purchase what are called drag tips that have high points that allow you to drag the tip itself without plugging up the orifice. I do have a small dryer set up currently just have a water oil separator and then a motor guard 100 micron filter in line with each other thanks for watching really appreciate it 🙏👊😎

Hi Alex, I contacted Prime weld about drag tips and was told they are not available for my cut50d machine also the ceramic cups that came with my cut50d have no groves to use the wire clips to raise the cutting tip off the surface, I do see that they sell a pack of consumables that includes 10 tips, 10 ceramic cups with groves and clips but I am not sure they will fit my machine

Alex, I really want to do exactly what you are doing. I am recovering from getting run over on my 1957 Harley Panhead but I am able to walk now. I have been sourcing parts for my V-6 4X4 Ranger XLT that I put a flatbed on and a 50 gallon 5 horsepower compressor and a flathead briggs to power it. I am installing a 1000 pound crane on the right rear corner with hand made outriggers and a hydraulic power unit that is a power steering pump and 12 volt motor. I have a Miller Roughneck 2e AC welder and a Hobart 300amp DC 2 cylinder welder that is fantastic. I am going to mount one of them to the bed as well. Are you here in Pa. I would love to talk with you sometime. Thanks my friend. Oh I found a 100 year old lathe that is in great shape but no tooling. I have the ability to purchase a fully equipped lathe for 1000 but I do not have the money at the moment. I should be able to start soon.
