Many questions about the "was/were" and i had there same. I had to check it out, better find it yourself and read the rules. BUT "if I WERE .." is correct. 1. Because we talk about unreal situation. "WERE" - When we have doubts and uncertainty about whether it will come true. 2. if + Past + should/would + Vinf. Always "were".
My dear you are a wonderful teacher. You take your to explain things to some of us who are weak in English language. May God bless you abundantly. Please stay blessed 😁👏👏👏👏👏
Modal verbs are easy to learn and understand, as they have a lot in common with other languages, although they have some differences. In any case, they will be a good help in moving forward for everyone who wants to improve their English language skills.
@@BaihakiEfendy Well, you can use was as well, for I/he/she/it. That's optional. Look below; I wish I were taller. I wish I was taller. Both are fine. But in formal context you better use the first one.

Anyone can tell me why should we use "i were" instead of "i was"? Sometimes I see that change and I always thought "were" was used with plural.
I is itself singular and plural both ...so we can use both
@@rumuor012 Yeah, but with different situations. I've already learned how to use it.
Same question !!!
It's a condional sentence that's why we r using were other wise it will be i was

Yes in such sentences it's correct. If he were a doctor he would give you some advice. You can't use was instead of were.
