Mam, i have a doubt relating to the word endorsement.. act spells it under section 15 as "Indorsement" and normally people write it as endorsement. I even related it in relation to section 2(5) of registration act.generically both mean same.. but what spell we should right whenever it is demanded. Indorsement or endorsement
Endorsement has a wider meaning than indorsement. Indorsement is a legal term which refers to just signing on financial documents like cheque or bills. But endorsement refers to approving something- (may be supporting or accepting a decision, policy, idea or transfer of a document). Normally both the terms can be used for referring the transfer of a negotiable instrument by signing on it. But endorsement is widely used.

Can crossed cheque with "not negotiable " written on it can be endorsed or not
It can be endorsed but if the title of the transferor is defective the transferee also will get the same defective title
Can the crossed cheque be endorsed?
If the cheque is crossed it is payable through account then how can it be endorsed or negotiable?
