    With the engine, trans and rear end out of the car, now would be a great time to hot water pressure wash everything before moving forward. The guts are so dirty on this car it would make sense to do it. Great videos. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice video! Glad to see your 352 is rebuildable, not even one scratch on that cylinder wall!

      How lucky I got on that cylinder!! I was sure it was damaged to some degree but things are looking good!

    to be definitively efficient against rust, you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body, cavities - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year.Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

      Excellent advice! Especially in the areas that won't be seen. Problem with underneath the vehicle is that dirt will stick. I plan on using an undercoat to make sure rust won't be a problem again.

      @@walkercustomgarage my experience says to me that dirt is not a problem. Grease will be dirty but does not lose lts power protection. that is the important thing.

    The Thunderbird suppliers are The Bird Nest , Larrys , Pat Wilson of course eBay and Amazon . Another source is finding Thunderbird Clubs . U receive tips and also members post parts for sale . I always purchased the factory repair manual also for the specific year and model . The model u have is a base coupe , They did come with power windows plus doors and u do have the power seat driver seat . Some of this had leather interiors . The carpet was loop pile . I tried to keep my builds original . The hub cap u have is one that did come with that car they do have others . U also have a generator not a alternator plus no PCV but a breather tube . The tank u have is a expansion tank for the radiator had these for several years on the T Birds . I did have a 1961 T Bird that I did paint candy apple red but with a black top . At the time I lived in Little Rock , Arkansas in the 70s .

    They must have got it shut down quick for as little damage as was done to the piston!
    Most I have seen over the years there was no cylinder wall damage unless the top piston glan was broke.
    Those old 352's were almost bullet proof!

    Well... your video appear in my recommended so I watched the three parts so far and I'm pretty interested in this build. Although I'm a Chevrolet fan, I love old cars, no matter the brand, so you've got a new sub, man! Looking forward to the next installment. Happy Holidays from Argentina!

      Thanks for the follow! I'm partial to these old Fords myself but like you, I love all the older cars regardless of the make and model. They just don't build them like they used to unfortunately. Can't wait to bring you the next video! Happy holidays!!

    I don't know what state you live in, but there are now several T Bird places to order parts from. I have a '65 Tbird and I have ordered a whole bushing kit and springs from them for my rear end and it was a quality parts and all installed. New gas tank from them too. place called the Birds's nest in Portland Oregon. Good luck and God bless.

    Note the heavy gauge inner fenders welded to the frame, one of the safest cars ever built. Minor ridges top of the bores indicates high nickel block, a good thing. Long lead time for seat foams and headliner.

    • @walkercustomgarage
      @walkercustomgarage  8 месяцев назад

      I am noticing a lot of things with this vehicle like the inner fenders as you mentioned. Excited to get the motor disassembled and look into it thoroughly. I am looking into doing all the upholstery on my own. Going to be a huge learning curve but I'm up for it!

    • @danontherun5685
      @danontherun5685 8 месяцев назад +1

      Can't imagine not ordering the seat foams and pre-made headliner. But look at the bux you'd save. Very few people in this region can do old car interiors and I've been getting quotes to do the interior of my 32 four door very simple non stock driver quality cloth. Averaging 150'hr T/M and guestimates 18K and car gone 4-12 months. More than the finished car would be worth. Might have to drive it to Tijuana for the $200 Mexican vinyl job.@@walkercustomgarage

      Man that's crazy! About 6 months back I tried to get the seats and door cards done on my rat rod but couldn't even get anyone to call me back. The last place I called said they had a 4 month wait before they could even start! Figured I'd look into it myself. Could be a new side hustle...

    Maybe could have done with a pressure wash before it went in the shop.. cool car. Did you see the one Bad Chad shortened the roof up on. You got a great base to work with. Thanks for the video. Good luck..

      Lol, I know! All that dirt that piled up over the years is a hassle! But it's never too late for a power wash. Unfortunately, I haven't seen that video but I'm going to have to find it now! Thanks!

    Those Cruise-O-Matics are heavy, aren't they?!? Looks like your horns were relocated with the A/C conversion. Do you have the brake booster mounted under the dash? That style was seen primarily on 430 big block cars. The 352 versions usually had an engine compartment mounted booster. Merry Christmas from Vancouver Island!

    • @walkercustomgarage
      @walkercustomgarage  8 месяцев назад

      Oh my gosh, sooo heavy!! Couldn't move this thing around like I did my C4. I have not gotten to look under the dash just yet. Didn't realize that may be a thing with the brakes but I'm anxious to get under there and check since you bring this up. It would be a wonderful surprise but I'm operating on the assumption that there is no booster. May be an option worth looking into. Have a very Merry Christmas!
