About Shawn:
Around 1998/1999, by mistake, Shawn Williams discovered that he could better control opponents while in a High Guard/Rubber Guard position in which the fighter makes a framed grip underneath his own leg (between his knee and opponents shoulder). The move was later named the "Williams Guard". He is the head instructor at 5 Star Martial Arts in Los Angeles, CA.

Awesome technique. Also, I didn't know Zachary Quinto had a brown belt...

As i see...a Whilliams guard is something that mixes a hiza-gatame posture with kanuki gatame grip..
