this even includes the 6 talents from the mainland chinese branch that fell apart between bad pr (taiwan mentioned) and a risk of related gov intervention.

I hope Fubuki knows just how much "Shirakami is here!" means to so many of us.
0:29 Fauna is one of my oshis, so her announcement hit me harder than any others. The first few days were rough but I've found the strength to move forward by enjoying and appreciating the past three years of Fauna while still enjoying what everyone else in Holo is doing. I'll probably cry on Fauna's graduation day, but until then, I'm glad everyone in Holo just doing their usual things can help us get through. All things considered, this month has been fun so far!
    Thanks for the subs!

    • @imaencuru
      @imaencuru 4 дня назад

It's funny, Fauna is my oshi too, but I ended up being much less emotional over her graduation than Ame's (who I barely watch), and I feel like it's a combination of seeing lemonleaf reactivated before the announcement so we know for certain she's still going to be around, and her not being the first EN to go (after Sana of course but that was a long time ago).
In the end she still wants to stream and her pool of things to stream and people to stream them with will massively expand as an indie, even if she misses out on some of the corp benefits.

Not a Pro Life Tip, but a tip from an older fan, is to take opportunities that might be difficult but well paying when you are still young. You will struggle. You will have sleepless nights. You will learn a lot. You will make a lot of mistakes. You will network with others. You will, hopefully, earn lots of money. And you will, eventually, leave because it may no longer match how you want to live your life going forward. It will help you decide what you find important in your life, and value the time with your friends, family, and hobbies, which is often difficult to do when you are still a young adult.
Of course, then there are others who know exactly what they want, and how to get there and are workaholics to achieve their goals. Just look at the HoloPro roster lol

And my guess is that the doomposter are tiktok watcher : shorten attention span, low anger management and other effect of very short video comsuption.

It really is quite a miracle how few graduations there have been. It's not like talent had never considered graduation before 2024. It's just that they decided to stay after all.
Talent who do graduate have their own individual reasons to do so & I no longer think there is necessarily any grand unifying reason for that. Choosing to graduate doesn't necessarily have to mean there must have been a terrible reason or experience either.

Amid all that's happened in just a single year, I think many people are forgetting just how long it's been since this all began.
People have taken their bachelor's degree, from start to finish, over the course of some of these talents' careers. This position has taken up a large fraction of many of their adult lives - and now, for some of them, they're content with what they've done and want to move on.
Just as many new Hololive talents have once graduated from their respective indie channels, to turn the page once more.
5 years is a long time. But even now, the dream remains, the journey continues.

It's funny to think what Fubuki said back a few years ago where she told us to believe in her as long as she's in Hololive or something like that and even tho she can't exactly comment on this or doesn't know exactly what to say regarding this, she still knows in her head that the thing she said forever ago is probably the same thing she would say now. I don't think she'd be the type of person to suddenly "betray" us and pull a 180 by saying something like "I'm sorry that it's difficult for us right now" or at the very least something like "things are currently really tough right now here in Hololive, but don't worry, things will be fine". Something like that. She knows how things are really like for Hololive right now. It may not seem like it, but Hololive is only getting better. I know we see all these graduations and scandals (you know the one with Holo I'm referring to) as really big things, which, they are. But that doesn't mean it'll make or break Hololive. This isn't WACTOR, Akio-Air, or especially Nijisanji. Besides if anything, Hololive and its talents have done more good than harm this year. Just look at all the VTuber events that occurred this year that were Holo-related: the Hololive-Dodgers Collab, HoloEN's Breaking Dimensions concert, HoloGTA, the debut of Justice, the sololives that occurred this year like Pekora's and Miko's. Not to mention that COVER, Hololive's parent company, announced that they're opening up an overseas HQ in America. So when Fubuki and other talents say that things are and will be okay, things are indeed still and will be okay. No one in Hololive is being held hostage nor do they feel like it. Yes it's a Japanese company and we know how bad their work culture is like, but it won't stop them from making VTubing just in general the best it can possibly be.

Technically, Hololive gained more that they lost and it should already be in the minds of people that it is impossible for all Members who joined will stay forever.

What Fubuki has to say here really hits at something I've been sort of wondering for a while. Like I don't want to assume too much because calling people on the internet kids always seems so dismissive, but committing 5-7 years to any job is a lot of time to end up growing out of it, even one that seems from the outside like too much of a dream job to actually be real.
Working retail, fast food, etc. I constantly saw people quitting in less than a years time over a wide variety of age ranges, and that doesn't even come with the perk of generally being able to jump straight to being an indie with a lot less of a reset than was originally assumed. I guess its easier to blame the company (especially in this era where being anti-capitalist online is "cool") than to admit that sometimes the talents want a fresh start to redefine and refocus themselves from though.

I connect it with something Ame said before her graduation that none of them (presumably meaning EN Gen 1) knew that it would take off like it did and that they would still be at it 4 years later. These people are in the prime of their lives and hiding behind a computer makes you miss a lot. You can't get time back and these are the times where if you miss out on something you will regret it. Stuff where you may only get one chance. You don't want to wake up one day and realize a harsh reality that you missed out.

I think if Fubuki graduated, I would stop following Hololive altogether.
Different talents from different branches get treated differently, but Fubuki, coming from a life where she has been pretty much turned to herself, hiding in her shell, has been given opportunities by Hololive that someone like me doesn't even dare to dream of. And she's remained quite true to herself through the years. I'll have faith in Fubuki as long as she enjoys herself and and remains genuine.
Your answer doesn't have to be perfect, nor cover all speculation. As long as it's genuine, that's enough for me.

Still, Fauna's reasoning bugs me a little bit.... Disagreement with the management AND she did not want to leave! It seems that Cover is a stubborn corpo that does not want to make comprimises. Well it is a just a business so I guess it is expected that any company would put profit and money above everything else.

That is a wrong perception of Hololive. Cover doesn't try to maximize their own gain. Cover already support the talents as much as they can and willing to concede to the talents if possible but there is a clear bottom line. Company needs profit to keep going, it's not a charity if no more compromise can be made, talents either have to look for alternatives routes to make it work, give up and move on or ultimately choose to leave to do their own thing without corperate restrain.
Also Fauna's statement was more or less clear on the subject that neither dislike toward Hololive itself or being an idol to be the reason to leave. It really is just unfortunate that Fauna might not fit with the current way the company runs the business while the majority seem to do, so she chose to leave on good terms rather forcefully adept (and possibly become resentful).

eh, it doesn't have to be anything drastic. I left a job for a disagreement with the management, and it really was just a disagreement, two equally valid and justified ways to do a job, I wanted one way, management wanted the other, so I left after a couple months, and it really wasn't their fault for not bending the rest of the company to my preferences. It really could be anything, maybe Fauna was just fed up with having to discuss things with management in the first place. What sucks for us is that neither party will go into much detail, so all we get are vague statements, and have to guess what happened.

@@Troytaicho I agree with this. Hololive operated for several years greatly leaning in supporting the growth of their talents rather than making big profits like Nijisanji. I'm actually even surprised that they were even allowed to talk about their stories like Sakamata or talking about the 'Disagreement with management' like Fauna.
      .
if you also think about it deeply, Fauna & Ame were on the bottom of the list in all of Myth & Promise on how frequent they are travelling to Japan. 'Disagreement' doesnt 100% mean Cover/Hololive is at fault. a Contract is an agreement between TWO parties, if she is being demanded to travel to Japan more often by 2025 for recordings, business meetings etc but Fauna doesnt want to as about 60-70% of her activities is only streaming then I can easily call that as 'Disagreement with management' as well.
      - Mumei being looked at as the closest to graduate in EN next to Fauna makes me trust this theory of mine even further. there's also Kronii's japanese proficiency improvement which is probably way better than Mumei now. Raora being confirmed to have moved to Japan after getting accepted to Holo and Biboo moving to Japan recently just cements this theory of mine even further.
      .
if we get tons of 3D Streams & Live Concerts by 2025 beating 2024's record of having Suisei's concert tour and the famous Dodgers stadium appearance, it'll give more points to my theory.

    • @Troytaicho
      @Troytaicho 10 дней назад +7

@@litlsteps8486 That is a plausible theory although several members have shot that down. Members can decline jobs and there is no need to move to japan (that is purely the talents desire). Members can also choose to focus more on streaming if they want to.
But it might also be that some may not want to deal with japanese beaucracy anymore that Cover is roped in because those are a huge pain to deal with.
Also something that people may overlook that it could also be a case of burnout and that the disagreement may be that the company want the talent to have a long break rather them quitting but talent choose to quit to be at their own pace rather long breaks. Not with Fauna's case but the possibility should also be kept in mind that the disagreement doesn't necessary mean the company way of things "pushed away" the talent.

@@andrewadhiatma7037 It really is a case by case thing. Some of the older members fit surprisingly well now while newer may had different expectation.
Also kinda need to differentiate the reason why some left. Ame wanted more focus on her 3D studio, she owns it might as well use it fully on her own if Hololive can't support all her projects or plans. Chloe had health issue for a long time, so she had to retire due to that and not because of something within the company itself. Fauna had disagreements which are unknown at the moment but a clash of opinion always happens in terms of artistic jobs so she just might not want to compromise or negotiate anymore as buisiness is always a hassle to deal with and rather go indie.

@@andrewadhiatma7037 coincidentally, Ame & Fauna's activities are mainly 'Streaming' and is good at it. with Dev_Is introduction functioning with the actual 'Idol' activities & group activities, it's safe to say that Hololive wants to take the 'Idol' route as Yagoo originally planned it to be. let's add Aqua into the mix? she's one of Holo's top Idols with her face in a lot of merch, she's also a great streamer and ofc let's not forget she's an insane Gamer. keep in mind that she was only able to participate in Vsaikyou ONCE and didnt appeared in any VCR servers. basically her activities is 50% Idol & merch stuff then the other 50% is on streaming & gaming. what do you think would happen if she was given a schedule so packed with Idol activities like dance practice, singing practice, recordings, meetings, merch development and more which basically renders her to stream less?
      .
I gotta say though, Sakamata's story was rough to say the least. even Sui-chan talked about the manager stuff too. though also keep in mind that we only heard Sakamata's side of the story. after Sakamata's story, we never heard any other info about that manager who forced her to record. keep in mind that EN had a history of a certain bad manager too. with Kiara dissing that manager, it's safe to say that she's already been 'cut loose' from Holo EN.

Never worked in a big company before? Disagreement with management is a common occurence and unavoidable, especially in artistic jobs and entertainment. A company has to care for their brand and need to make profit to keep things running, meanwhile talents have their own personal goals that not necassary is in line with the company. So both side has to work it out and find a compromise to make it work. Which obviously won't work all the time since the company has a bottom line they can't cross, so it's up to the talent how much they are willing to adept/improvise/compromise if they can't they may make the desicion to leave to be free from those restraints because they fit indie life more.
If anything the phrasing " I have done everything I want to do" when it's clearly not the case is a massive red flag that something is wrong because there was literally nothing left to feel positive about being in the company.
It's a green flag if they can openly say that they had disagreements with management as there is nothing big bad to hide about it, also when they say that they took a long time to come to the desicion as that means that there was still room for compromise or negotiation but ultimately chose to leave for the better to do their own thing than forcing things to work out.

Also you have a misconception that a lot left Cover when in fact the turnover rate is far lower than expected. If anything it is a mircale so many work 5+ years in the company already. Not only are they able to expand their fanbase to millions of people that 99% of indies cannot do, they get to bring them and have a massive boost when they leave. Some even had earned enough from working in a corpo to fund their own 3D rigging studio.

DIsadvantage? Let's frame it in a way you'd understand better IRL.
Let's say you're a Starbux employee. Years later, you become shift manager, and later become outlet manager or higher. When you eventually leave, you leave behind your pay grade, your status and any company assets loaned to you during your tenure. Reasonable, yes?
What's important here is, what _intangible assets_ did you harvest during your tenure? Connections - social network, business network, suppliers, potential clientele, municipal knowledge, labour laws, potential and prospective hires. Anything, everything.
Should you choose to restart in the coffee business but as a privately run shop, all the above can, and will help you. A company is a great place to acquire networking power. If you chose not to harvest those advantages that a company can provide as a shortcut, you've only failed _yourself_ .
At the end of the day, Vtubers live in the same reality we do, there's no pretense of fantasy and kayfabes here. IP will never be as important as the power of networking.
