We've had THE BEST OF TIMES on our NC500 adventure - possibly because we totally lucked out with the weather. How was your own NC500 experience? Did anyone get blown off Whaligoe Steps? Did you manage to frolic more elegantly than me (not a hard feat I guess)? Let me know! 🌅
What about a trip to the RSPB nature preserve in Aberdeenshire with the wild ponies and wonderful birding. Loch of Strothberg. There are some beautiful old buildings in that area and the Lighthouse Museum in Fraserburgh.
Dear Kat and Simon, this is probably one of my favorite videos you posted!! The NC500 is like my dream trip!! Have been to Edinburgh and few other places 5 times now and the NC500 is the dream! I will sure do it!! I just need to put my fear of driving “on the wrong side” aside 🙈 I guess my fiancé will have to do it! But would be curious to try!😉 Thank you anyway, I just ADORE your channel!❤
I worked as a volunteer at Puffin Croft in John O groats back in 2020, so it's really great to see the area I used to walk in my spare time. Never felt so at home as in John O Groats.
Oooh that place looked so cute! We drove around and I really wanted to pop in, but we were running so late for everything the whole trip 🥲 glad to hear you enjoyed your time there!
Frolic Skill Level: Professional Vlogger. Achievement unlocked! Love your sense of humour. Great video, looking forward to this series. Looks like a lovely part of the world.
I couldn't believe just how beautiful the area was - and the landscape changes from coast to coast too, so one never becomes bored! (Although, fair warning, the North part of the coastal drive was indeed mostly amazing beaches and not much else .D but not complaining!)
Wow! Your best video visually you have done yet. Your shots on the ground and in the air were spectacularly shot and edited. You and Simon have officially elevated your game - no pun intended 😂 Fantastic trip, can’t wait to see more. 🙋♀️😊
The drone footage is fantastic, as well as the music in the intro, you guys are upping your game in a big way. I’m glad you had such a great trip. Scotland really is stunning.
I know right? One of my favourite colours!! (Also as I was googling random facts on our trip, I've learned that gorse acts as "emergency food supply for bees" between seasons! 🐝)
I love this and have always wanted to drive the NC500🎉 Excited to see the next one! Also, thanks for always making such fun, informative and creative videos 😊
Hopefully this series will only make you you want to do this trip more! It was absolutely fantastic - if I could I'd do it again in a couple of months! .)
Amazing!! So glad you’re taking this on! We’ll be in Edinburgh in 2 weeks and have been following your videos. We won’t get to do the NC500 this trip but looking forward to it next year.
This episode makes me very homesick, 10/10 for pronouncing Dornoch correctly, I hope you visited the Wee Pink Hoose and got a Capaldis ice-cream, it's traditional (yes the Capaldis are cousins of the Dr Who actor)
Some spectacular footage - a drone truly is a good investment. And are those penguins at 15:44? Lots of animals, loved the seals. And the cat. And baby sheep.
They were definitely penguinesque! Unfortunately I forgot what exactly they were, maybe it will come back to me 🤔 but there tend to be little birdwatching guide signs around bird heavy areas which helps!
Great insights on this tour video and lovely scenery and nature sights. I cant's wait to get back in a few months to explore more of my heritage land. Scotland is a beautiful country and the people make it all that much better. Cities there are slowly succumbing to typical UK and Euro immigrations schemes, but it is still primarily as it was, as it is, and as it should be. Beautiful, friendly and fun! Thanks as always Kakibot! You've become an asset to the country!
Neskutečná nádhera ♥Musí se mít na dron ve Skotsku nějaké povolení? U nás jakmile má dron nad čtvrt kila a kameru tak se musí registrovat, aby měl vlastní SPZ :D Kocourkov trošku...
I think that for someone who is not also shooting a video while travelling, the six nights would probably be pretty relaxing! If I had an extra day I'd probably spend it on the East coast before hitting Wick. A bit of extra time to explore Tongue and Thurso would also be great - I think splitting the extra day of time among these things would be my ideal plan! And if I wanted to live truly luxuriously, I'd also add an extra half day towards the end to do some sort of whale/dolphin trip OR the rigid inflatable boat trip from Wick to Whaligoe steps for a bit of adrenaline! .)
The No Drones signs are just a request, not a lawful order. They have no rihht to stop you filming in those areas. Only flight resistrictions are near airports and prisons, but your Drone Assist App will give you that information up to the minute. Mini III is under 250g so know your drone law, because the land owners clearly do and try to pull a fast one with these official looking signs.
Thanks! We were playing it safe as it was our first trip with the drone - but past the east coast I don’t think we’ve seen any more of these signs! A friend of ours pointed out that once the drone is up in the air, not much anyone can do to stop you 😅
There is actually an ancient bylaw from the year 1965, which today gives National Trust sites marginal lawful right to ban drones at their property just by the sheer power of stretching the interpretation of the law to its limits (obviously there were no drones in 1965). In my experience, it is much better for everyone to just step outside into public space and take off from there. The more are people bothered by drones, the stronger the restrictions are going to be. 😢😢

This trip had some of the most spectacular driving I've ever done, anywhere. Thoroughly recommend! Where else would you all want us to go?
Isle of Staffa please!!
Lewis, for the Callanish stones!
Shetland islands!!

Another delightful and informative adventure video. Can't wait to frolic there!!!
Thank you! It is indeed the best location for frolicking!!!
Love it, must do North coast 500, though I did get Father Ted flashbacks when you were at the 'Hill of many stanes' ;-)
So excited for the NC500. It’s on our bucket list!!

These vlogs are so high quality. You’re crushing it!
Thanks so much!!
this vlog brought back so many great memories! 🤩 I hope you had a looooovely time :)
We did indeed!! This past week has been a horrible contrast to the freedom of driving around beautiful landscapes for one week straight 🥲
severe wanderlust watching this video! scotland is calling and i must goooo! Xx

@@Kakibot Thats okay haha, you visited another great spot at the stacks and the lighthouse, loved to walk there. I even saw some wild seals there.
@@Kakibot And maybe you have time to visit Puffin croft the next time you're in John O Groats 🙃
That was awesome thanks for sharing and yes I love Mint Chocolate as well

Had so much fun taking these shots - what a blast being able to see the landscape from that point of view! Thank you for tuning in .) ❤️
So much gorse everywhere! Beautiful!

@@Kakibot that's an amazing fact! :) I bet it smells gorgeous there as well!
Really nice flying there! Those seals were amazing. Just watch out for oystercatchers. Those hate anything that moves nearby, including wee drones 😂
Love it 💖💖
This looks incredible, I need to start planning my NC500 right now!

Good to have a plan for all the future trips! Scotland is not a place people feel ok visiting just once! .D

It’s on my bucket list!! One day, I hope!! 🤞
Fingers crossed! Do you think you'll go for the more adventurous way of camping/van-sleeps or hotels?
@@Kakibot i would love to stay in cosy b&b 🤗
Excellent frolic. 😂
Perhaps... a lucrative career in frolicking awaits?!
Just when I was thinking of doing the trip myself....Thankyou!
Perfect! Hopefully this series will bring some extra inspiration!! 🧳

I'm not a knower of birds, but through some research, I believe they are Razorbills, a relative of the Puffin!
Thanks
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!!

This video is beautiful and has too many highlights to mention, but my top favorite is Simon finding £20 !
I'm sure that was his highlight too 💸 .DD
Right until I tried to spend it on ice cream and found it was one of the old style notes and "not legal tender" anymore...

How much time do you recommend to take off to have a relaxing NC 500 holiday?

I read that Inverness Castle holds the law courts.
How much did you spend doing the NC500? It costs a fortune to go up there!
Yeah I believe that hotels alone cost just under 1k ./ makes sense that so many people decide to van it up!
