Ok, you can say I’m judging but at this point I don’t care. That guy is lucky that he is getting some unemployment rather than nothing. His wife still has a job. Then he his shopping in the organic section and mad that he can’t get orange juice. Are you serious? Organic is a luxury as is any flavored beverage. I’m frankly tired of these people who really don’t know what struggling is. Yes, everyone has their “personal” struggle. But these people are far from it. Some of us.. not all of us need a wake up call. At this point EVERYONE needs to be eating rice and beans and drinking water from the tap. Any extra crap can wait until things get better. After this event hope ya’ll start that emergency fund that again EVERYONE should have had. Whatever, I’m taking to air at this point. People will be the same after this is over. Not caring about tomorrow or preparing for the unknowns. I’m sorry for those who are truly suffering. These people are not.

You can get 100% juice concentrate for half the price. Better yet. Drink water. It's better for your kids. And ok. And daycare expenses are about $200-$300 a week for their youngest. Seems to me, they would be breaking even. So they obviously were struggling before this happened. Once things open up, it will not automatically go back 100% to what it was like before...it could take months, even over a year. My biggest fear (and even realization) is many Americans whose jobs were furloughed will either not have a job to return to...or they will face salary cuts. Companies have lost too much $ being closed.

So because I’m not working my home should suddenly look like I never had anything? I shouldn’t have a car to get around, particularly when it’s dangerous to take public transportation? That’s a ridiculous line of thinking.

pearly Charles, thank you for responding so we can both be clear. So often people think all blacks suffer equally as bad unless they are on stage or playing sports. It is a struggle and have always been a struggle. I recall hearing Tyra Banks for as beautiful as she is, struggle to find work at times. I understood what you meant and for my part I only wanted to balance that perception which is also a reality. No one cares about racism until its their turn. Stay safe.

My heart goes out to the couple... but....look at your home! That’s not how I live... I have a comfortable home but most would not think much of my house. I live within my means which means I always put money in savings every month. I drive a 12 year old rusty dented car. In 2006 I lost my business, lost my home and I let 13 employees go. I started over! CONSERVATIVE as hell! I Bought a dumpy house, drive a dumpy car, and I save every extra penny I can! I’m not rich by any stretch of the imagination but After the Great Recession I’ve lived a life of preparedness for the next event and I’m ready for this... I can weather this storm OK.

Well done Ben. Same here. I'm not even conservative but just like you, the Great Recession taught me to be frugal and save every extra penny. Most people didn't learn a lesson from the Great Recession. Sigh!

Trump yesterday: “I was brutalized by the press.” You know what’s brutal? Needing a ventilator, not having access to one. Needing a #coronavirus test, not being able to get one. Needing a mask, a gown, a face shield, not getting them. Losing your job. Dying alone. That’s brutal. Barbara Malmet

This is so sad... everyone is struggling now. I often have to put things back at the checkout stand since I do not have enough money. I cannot wait for this whole pandemic to end as it is messing up everyone’s lives.
In the meantime, stay safe, positive and healthy everyone!!!

Good attitude Trinh, you'll be okay.
Sure, our fridge and pantry is looking a bit different to usual. We have right now a List of Meal Ideas hanging on the fridge -- so we remember ! and don't waste food.
Lotsa folks have started stewing and freezing cheap, seasonal fruit and vegies. Great for nutrition and boosting meals.
Rearranging how we live and spend ... not all bad 😬. Stay safe all.

EVERY Congress person MUST be called upon to voluntarily agree to accept the same $1,200 as salary as the rest of the nation. We ARE all in this together, and most of us have lost our income. Why are congressional leaders insulated from this struggle?? They MUST Lead by EXAMPLE. They are citizens too. SOLIDARITY will help them understand, truly understand. SHOW US YOU CARE enough to stand beside us, WITH US!!!!
