believe it or not, people in their 20s-30s make up the largest portion of bts' fanbase, while teens make up the second largest portion. they write and produce their own music and the reason why bts is so popular is because a lot of people are able to resonate with their lyrics. they have songs that criticise society, about self love, self reflection, self acceptance, youth, empowerment etc. they also reference movies, books, mythology, and psychology in their songs and music videos. bts also have this fictional storyline that has been running through their music videos since 2014 and connects them. their music can be divided into eras which, in order, are 'a defiant teenager', 'an adrift youth', 'temptation and conflict', and 'self love'. bts has now begun a new era with their latest album 'map of the soul: persona', inspired by the ideas of carl jung, a swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, to "take off ur mask and find ur true self." their discography is extremely diverse as they constantly experiment with different genres theyre roots are hiphop. 3 of the members were a part of the underground hiphop scene before joining bts (2 of them being underground rappers and the other a streetdancer). bts are the first boyband since the beatles to get 3 number 1 albums in the US in less than a year and they just finished a sold out stadium world tour. bts are huge. bts' economic impact on the south korea is $3,450,740,000.00 and theyre economic impact on london ( the worlds 2nd most visited city) is $83.9M just because they performed at wembley stadium for 2 days. bts made it this big after years of hard work despite the system being built to go against people like bts. they struggled domestically and internationally. please listen to bts with and open mind, without prejudice. i hope u do come to like them, but if u dont then thats fine too but please do respect them as artists and people. bts are men and by the way, u can find someone of the same gender attractive without being gay, not that theres anything wrong with being gay.
I'm shook unlike Namjoon's hand I actually like them a lot and will continue to listen to and react to their music. I’m 53 btw.😉👍 so they can count this old lady in their fan group.
@@popsandgrammy5904 im glad u like them and you're not old lol. and music has no age/language so age/language dont matter when it comes to enjoying music
4:23 It's korean. Naga : It means 'me' or 'I' in Korean. The music videos of bts always have English lyrics. Next time I want you to see English lyrics together. Then you can see how deep the meaning of the music video is. The music of bts has always been a good influence, and does not include profanity. And there are many beautiful men in the world. It is a prejudice.
It's great that you're so open-minded and willing to listen to something different. BTS is known for their complex choreography, cinematic videos and meaningful lyrics. (Next time turn on the cc for subtitles.) And yes, there are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They aren't your ordinary boy band since they write and produce a lot of their own music and their songs are often about taboo subjects in Korea, like disparity between the classes or mental illness and even the economy. Fake Love, for example, is about being true to yourself and accepting yourself.... because if you pretend to be someone you're not, then you will never trust the love you receive. (i.e. the person you care about will be responding to your 'fake' self and not your real self... so how can he/she love you if they don't know you?) By the way... I'm a granny, too.... And a member of ARMY (BTS fandom), so you don't have to be young to like BTS. If you want to see choreography, you can also check out their dance practices.
The woman is hella cute and open-minded! I hope you'll fall into the rabit hole that BTS is and learn about their message, their lyricism, their talent.... 💜
Thanks for being open-minded grammy 💜😄 Bts has hip hop background so yes they have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. If you are interested in getting to know them and their personalities please react to Bts introduction videos by gadaursan or Who is BTS by suga & spice (this one is a bit outdated but its the most popular one)
Lol? Are guy in the left judging their dancing by a little pieces of chroreography in one video? I recommend you to watch some dance practices like Idol, Mic Drod and others. And I'm in love with beautiful lady in this video! Please, I want to see more your reactions to them. Also, they are not so little. The youngest is 22, oldest is 27 :)) Sorry for some mistakes in English, I'm actually Russian ^^
Dude I saw the candy and fire and water and thought “😂 this is a regular day at my friends house! “ we make fires in his pit and eat candy and sweets and food, then it rains a lot. Yea, just another day at his house! I have the best time there.
If you want to see them dance more, please react to their dance practice videos. I recommend Blood Sweat and Tears and Danger dance practice videos by bts.
Hello hello hello. Well I'd like to chime in on this. This didn't do very much for me. Do they have talent I don't know. I was more interested in the iconic pretzel stick LOL. This will definitely not be on my playlist LOL. I tried. LOL LOL. Well you guys take care and God bless you. Keep On Keepin On
I am so surprised at how closed and boxed little world this guy lives in. Open up and look around. You are not living in 70s and 80s when there was no internet to see how the world is evolving. The funny thing is his mind is stuck in old days but he behaves and talks like a 5 yr old kid. Thanks to the lady though trying to put some fresh new air and sense into this block head.
JtotheK we will be reacting to more of their songs because I’m determined for Pops to like them. It’s now my mission.😉👍 I love them 😍 and will be enjoying all the videos.🥰
Pops have the same reaction as my mom and dad, they dont hate bts but its just not their type of music although bts has a decent range of genres in their albums. My parents like 70s-80s music. I already gave up trying to convert them lol, i guess they think its too modern? Idk
Hey pops, did you know black people can vote and gay people marry now! Welcome to 2019, please leave your prehistoric attitudes and toxic masculinity back in that era.

Btw if you have twitter you'll meet a lot of fans that are actually around your age 😁
They didn’t say the N word. There are two words in Korean that sound like it. “ naega” meaning i or me & “Niga” meaning you.
why that guy is too disrespectful and close minded? omg

Smh. Sad
Personally I don't like bts. Just not my taste.

Always a problem with older white guys.
