Don, thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute to a beautiful friend. My only regret is that it took me so long to find it. Steve’s wit and charm were second to none. Your video tribute prompted me to dig through my inbox and reread the last communication I received from Steve (January 27, 2013). I think of him often and cherish the times we had together!

What a wonderful and moving tribute to dear Steve Sanders. He will be so missed in the coming years. He was a great friend and I wrote my own tribute to him at my website Judy Garland Costumes dot com. With love and respect always, Charles Triplett

Just re-watched the memorial I created for my dear friend from many years ago. My tears for him still flow. Miss you Steve.

Back in '91, I had the great privilege of meeting this extraordinary writer at a book store in West Hollywood, where he was signing copies of his book "Rainbow's End." He was articulate, kind, personable and approachable. I recall his sharing that "Presenting Lily Mars" was one of his favorite Garland pictures. He revealed that Liza considered it a fave, as well (this was interesting to me, as I also love the film and have never heard her children comment on it). At any rate, I loved his book on Garland, as well as on Desilu. He was fabulously gifted and what he did to restore Garland's dignity after the horrible Mel Torme bio was honorable indeed. I cherish that night.

How nice for you to remember my/out dear friend. It's hard to realise he's been gone for several years now. He's still here in my heart and mind.

I came close to meeting Steve Sanders a few months before he passed, but it never happened. I have always regretted that.

He was a sweet, creative and talented ... but most of all a good friend. After 4 years, I still miss him, always will. Thanks for your note.

He died relatively young. I'm wondering what he passed from?
