A person who is distrustful , will always be suspicious of people no matter how many times you show with your actions, words, in different circumstances that you are sincere and honest They will misinterpret your words or actions. They will not allow you to explain yourself. I feel sorry for them because they have seen the ugly in others and they are projecting it on you. I totally agree with you Rabbi that the only way for people who have trust issues is to turn to God .. because we as humans can only see the faces, but God sees the heart .. Trust that God can reveal people‘s true intentions to you and that you don’t have to control everything and everyone because you trust no body… Allow God to take action.. may be God can put in your way , a person you ‘d never expect who would support you , believe in you and love you sincerely so you can regain trust in people and life if you would give them a chance and don’t push them away.. many thanks for your wise words

After decades of untrustworthy and abusive relationships, including my family of origin, my journey, the path to trust, began with Radical Acceptance. Once I was able to reconcile what was, is, always will be I was able to move forward to a place of renewed empathy and discernment. That didnt mean never facing toxic, manipulative or other difficult relationships again. There will be people in our lives who do the "right" things for the wrong reasons. They use those breadcrumbs of humanity to gain some sort of "supply" from us. But the road to a life well lived is looking at what's broken in your life so you can find what's right for your life. Rabbi, this way a phenomenal video! Im going to listen to this one again and again! Thank you for sharing these important ideas! Continued and Greater Blessings!

I feel less alone listening to you, Rabbi Jacobson. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I learned at 7 yrs old that I couldn't trust my parents. And my lack of guidance in life and love drove me to seek out the same kind of people most of my life. And I realized that I couldn't trust my own decisions. That was terrifying - especially when I went into a state of dissociation and wound up homeless - it was then that I found people I could trust and I am starting to trust myself again. You are right: Trust is as important as oxygen. Without it, it's a frightening, dog-eat-dog world and I nearly ended up being someone's dinner.

You just made me realize that I stopped trusting God when I was 4 and my baby brother died. I decided I wouldn't believe in him anymore and I lived as an atheist for most of my life. I didn't really think about the trust issue of it until just now. Finding trust- faith in God made me able to trust myself again - and other people. I can't even begin to explain the sense of relief I feel after more than 50 years of being godless and without anyone in the world that had my back, not even myself. It's rather amazing I'm alive, so I need to spend my last decades doing things to help others like me find their way back to the light...

I agree. At about 30 years old I suggested to my mother she visit the neighborhood place of worship instead of her regular church.
It took about 1 1/2 years for her to drop her cold shoulder to me; I’d rather of been hit by a bus. My world disappeared for a while.
I think we’re both stronger and wiser now, trusting, glad to be able to laugh about it now.
    It’s a serious topic.

I had a mother who completely hated me because of her pain over my sister's death, God taught me to forgive and love. I tried to find her as I was taken away from her for my protection, it was 23 years later and she still hated me. Thanks to God's love He taught me such compassion for her suffering and imprisonment I feel only sincere love for her though I don't have contact in order not to encourage her hatred. Our Father is so beautiful and pure in His love for us. I have had issues, terrible fears, terrible behaviour, but God won and I thank Elohim for being my Yehoshua Messiah and winning in me and teaching me to know others fears, insecurities, sadness and brokeness and give them the same love our Father has given me and I'm so grateful

My mom recently passed away. We had an on and off relationship but spoke on the phone and I visited her as well. As a child it was rough but I still tried with her. Come to find out she had been in and out of the hospital and neither my brother or sister told me until she was in a coma. Apparently she had told them not to tell me she was going down hill. Lots of family went to see her and visited while she was still alert. I am still struggling with the deep sense of betrayal from my brother and sister, they only said we were just following her wishes. My mother told them that I didn't care about her so this is what I get. I was neglected as a child but she was loving to them. My dad had PTSD and had a hard time when I was a child but we had been rebuilding our relationship when he got sick and passed away. I am grateful I have a loving life long husband who has been there for me. A lot of prayers has helped me to just move on and let things go. My mom just couldn't be who I needed.

Do you ever feel like life is betraying you? You are betrayed by family, friends, strangers, people with authority, and finally after a lifetime of receiving their abuse you finally betray yourself. I didn't even realize that I was doing it because I'm so adapted to it after a constant lifetime of it. If betrayal caused PTSD I would have CPTSD for sure after everything. I'm honestly tired and I can't really explain why.

I admire you so much, dear Rabbi Simon Jacobson. I've been watching and listening you for some time... and I resonate with the manner you express your love for the divine creation. Thank you! ❤
Usually, I don't feel to comment, I just want to listen... But this time, on this theme, you touched a very sensitive aspect of my life... and I would kindly confess what I've come to understand...
It is better for the children to live and grow up within a harmonious family/environment than within a compromised one. If the parents are not a couple anymore, they should not sacrifice for the sake of their children. They must continue to show love and care for their children by any other means... so that they don't feel themselves abandoned or not loved.
It is a very delicate subject... I understand the message you wish to convey, but I wouldn't call it betrayal. The separation of the parents is rather a solution for the children's sake. And the parents must do everything it takes to make their children understand that... while continuing to be meaningfully present in their lives.
I would love to receive an answer from you, dear Rabbi Simon Jacobson.

Every single star fell out the sky the night l met my wife years ago. meteor shower or what ever Nasa might call it. Trust her ? Love her even if she hurts me no problem. love is more important than the trust. you cant Trust a single person if you do wrong things in life and betray your loved one and end up in pain insted of love. its not really about trusting anyone its trusting in your self to not do evil to your loved ones. Ofcourse that dont mean that you dont shine light on there dark mistakes as that will make them better even if thay hate you for it, because truth can hurt and seem like evil talk. but lies and fake smiles are evil. l dont know. thanks anyway for the good thoughts RABBİ.

Another important notion: You cannot be disappointed by expectations when you have no expectations.
I hoped to find and fall in love with the legendary wife of mine all my life, and those broken hopes only taught me that I cannot be disappointed if I have no expectation.
The bright side of having no expectation is when the unexpected happen.

    The 20 commandments
I am who I am, I AM sent me
I am the ONE who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of slavery
You must put no other gods before ME
You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth beneath in the sea
You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I AM jealous and WILL NOT tolerate your affection for any other gods.
I lay the sins of the parent onto the children, The entire family is affected
You must not misuse my name. I will not let those who misuse my name go unpunished:
Thou shalt not kill OR rape
    Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not covet for thy neighbor's house
    Thou shall not commit adultery
Thou shalt not bear false witness/Not Lie on others
Thou shalt honor thy mother and father
Keep your day of rest holy
Thou SHALT NOT KILL, written AGAIN! unless for food purposes, or last resort self-defense/survival purposes
Thou shalt be kind and respect others
    Thou shalt NOT ENSLAVE
    Thou shalt protect the child
Thou shalt not consort sneakily in the dark to constrict, ensnare, manipulate into corruption, or cause harm to others even for monetary gain
Thou shalt help the elderly and weak and orphans or else...
    Thou shalt not litter
The rich SHALL, in the future meaning FROM THIS POINT ON, realize money is just paper from trees and will begin using their imaginary dendritic monopoly currency to help the hopeless, homeless, starving poor, and begin fixing the infrastructure of THE HUMAN RACE and or all living beings.
Thou shalt not exalt thy racial culture to be esteemed higher than any others because of your subjective stupidity
Thou shalt not create torment or cruel punishments on behalf of your judicial, justice system, military, or imaginary religious beliefs

It’s sad once you reach the point that you expect everyone will betray you because it’s an eventuality. I have lived only 46 years and witnessed it play out repeatedly. Then the thought of someone like Moses that has lived 900 years and watched people over end over placing confidence that with each generation they will be different only to have the same play out again.
Or god, where he’s given opportunity after opportunity generation after generation starting off with each generation having hope and promise only to disappoint him. Each generation taught to become what he didn’t like about the previous instead of teaching how to connect to him where the rulers leveraged this knowledge of him to rule over others.
The planet has been reset many times and this same bad seed infected each evolution of man with the same result.
The experiment is nearly over. We have months, not years before Hashem returns.
