Ikr! Descendants is great but the rest of the songs were more upbeat than this and looking into a more jokey side of telling a story whereas this one was so much more mature. But it fits Mal’s character arc so well. Starting as a goofy and more selfish character and starting to learn about love and being afraid to lose it.
the descendants movie was such a brilliant idea and the cast was amazing and beautifully written and executed. this song especially is a peak Disney moment and one of my childhood

This song really speaks to me. I think there is a deeper meaning to this song. It could be that you can't decide who you want to be as a person. Or it could be that you feel torn between gaining your parents' approval and what you really want. Or maybe it could be that you are unhappy and secretly want something better but can't decide if it is the right thing to do.
