    There's magic in a McElroy Game. They call it 'inspiration' and it tells the listener what they need to hear right when they need to hear it, and right now...
    You hear it, too.
    Thanks for playing a nerdgame so hard that you made us cry c:

    TAZ is one of my favorite storytelling experiences of all time. Every now and then I think back on Balance and I'm awed at the love, and talent, and dedication that went into it. It makes me want to be able to give that meaningful an experience to other people. If that's the McElroys legacy, then it's a great one.

    • @BinTtown
      @BinTtown 5 лет назад +5

      TAZ Balance is the ultimate "calvinball" house rules DnD podcast. Griffin McElroy is the ultimate storyteller. He's not as good of a raw DM as Matt Mercer or voiceactor given that's not his primary job...but his story telling....it hits you in the feels. TAZ will ALWAYS be my favorite DnD podcast. Even Amnesty was great. It was no Balance....but I don't think anything will ever compare to Balance. I really wish the McElroy's and Critical Role would team up for a one shot or a 2-3 episode short arc. The results would be amazing. Also...I don't think it's possible, no matter the campaign, for anyone to make characters as lovable as Justin does :)

      They played Calvinball with the rules alot....which they acknowledged. But that's the best way to do it. Rule Lawyers suck :)

      @@BinTtown My least favorite thing is when the game is more focused on fighting and stats and little quests to get more money or whatever than telling an interesting and coherent story. It's fine if people prefer to think of D&D as something you have to 'win', but I'd really rather focus on character and story than gold and experience, if that makes sense? I dunno.

    im in love with the adventure zone and I’ve JUST gotten my sister to start balance because of quarantine!! I feel like I’m reliving it through her eyes and seeing the story for the first time again. it’s even more personal because she’s my sister and it’s a family podcast :) I got her knee deep into McElroy content and now it’s one more thing we do together. it’s brought us closer and now my whole family is starting their first campaign where I get to show them my DM skills!!! the adventure zone podcast has genuinely and thoroughly changed my life in ways I never could have expected and I’m overwhelmingly grateful for it. I even stopped listening to TAZ once I started RELISTENING with her!!! Once we’re caught up on past arcs, we’re excited to dive into graduation together headfirst!!! I’m really attached to all of these stories and I truly have heard from many close friends that Travis is an incredible DM :) I cant wait to experience a new fun style and I’m certain he has plenty of incredible ideas to bring to the DND table!!! Thank you Travis again for giving me characters and stories to fall in love with. The McElroy family truly has influenced the way that I think and act and you have certainly changed me for the better. Can’t wait to keep listening for years to come 💕💕💕

      That's so nice! Unfortunately, my sisters are older than me by several years and just don't seem like the type of people that would enjoy TAZ, but I can't wait till my kid is old enough to listen with me! (He's 4 now, so I've got a while to wait! haha)
      I've already gotten him hooked on Clint's "Stories from your Gaffer" live videos over quarantine though, so I'm starting him young on the McElroy love ;). Haha.

      @@BinTtown I mean, you can't always tell that sort of stuff about people cause there's more to disorders than just a couple symptoms or obvious traits. Someone being impulsive or 'all over the place' doesn't necessarily mean they have ADHD.

    • @BinTtown
      @BinTtown 5 лет назад

      @@pearlyp9898 I never said it did. I had, and yes I said HAD, ADD (no hyperactivity...the ritalin was basically like giving me speed so I stopped taking it), the signs are different for everybody. For me you could tell easily. If it wasn't a task of choice? I wasn't paying attention yet I did REALLY well in school cause school was a task of choice other than english class. Weird. I know. But I did have ADD as a child, just after puberty I kinda grew out of it. That is possible if you don't believe me. A lot of people DON'T. Particularly ADHD (not ADD) patients. But it does happen. I got really lucky. Thanks genetics!

    • @pearlyp9898
      @pearlyp9898 5 лет назад +1

      @@BinTtown Oh, I do believe that. My own mental state has changed over time, put simply. Your comment just sounded a bit condescending to me, so I got a bit defensive in return, I'm sorry. I'm iffy about people theorizing about what goes on in real people's brains/lives, cause that feels real invasive, in general, so the insinuation that one should come to those conclusions made me want to defend the stance that it's completely okay to not notice that stuff about other people.
