The awesome thing about Alexia as a villain is that, unlike a lot of other RE villains, she was never upstaged by Albert Wesker despite sharing a game with him. Usually when Wesker is in an RE game, even if he wasn't intended to be the primary villain, he always ends up upstaging the real villain. But Alexia was just so unique and disturbing that she stuck in our memory even after we finished the game.
You ain’t wrong. You have to be a special kind of villain for Wesker to actually be afraid of. I mean look at his showdown with Alexia. He landed a couple of punches on her, sure. But when Chris happened to be there with him, Wesker decides to pussy out and let Chris handle the mess Wesker made in the first place. Though in Wesker’s defense, Alexia would have turned anyway if Chris was the one to confront her first instead.

I just played Code Veronica for the first time a couple weeks ago, and this song definitely set the mood. It's pretty yet haunting. Perfect for the mood of RE: Code Veronica
What’s interesting to me is that the lullaby sets up that Alexia would betray Alfred in someway, taking advantage of his devotion to her, but this is somewhat subverted. Alexia didn’t hide any secret from Alfred, she never hid her plan to cryofreeze herself, in fact she ONLY told Alfred and relied on him to protect her for 15 years. She just didn’t foresee how extremely codependent Alfred was on her to the point he would go mad from loneliness in that time and even forget where she actually was. Alfred does not die by her hand at all, in fact she’s upset in her own way when she finally sees her brother all this time and he’s dead by the time she steps out. The immediate reaction is giant tentacles erupting from the ground and beating the ever loving shit out of Claire and Steve’s escape truck. Meanwhile back in the cryo room, she’s cradling and stroking Alfred corpse, humming their lullaby. There’s no witnesses, it isn’t an act, she’s mourning him sincerely. Heck later when she dressed up and Chris arrives, she’s still on the ground cradling and humming to Alfred. And then later she has placed his corpse in the cryofreezer and I am fairly certain she would’ve used mad science to resurrect her brother somehow. Yes Alexia calls him her loyal soldier ant and drone, but she does truly love him, as much as someone like her can. She even declares that avenging his death is part of the reason she wants to torture Claire, Chris and Steve. Capcom tho, went and changed their story to be more generic and directly fitting the lullaby in Darkside Chronicles with Alexia directly killing Alfred. Which I do hate, it literally removes any nuance and the poignant lullaby scene. Luckily, it’s non-canon.
Very underrated game. I think a lot of people find it too difficult and it doesn't get the respect it deserves as a result. I remember back in the day, I could never get past the Tyrant fight on the plane.
@@Pretzelcoatlus Nop, broken was the RE 3. Nemesis was annoying and unfair. Ngl when I first heard the lullaby, I felt bad for the twins tbh. Sure they were irredeemably evil but I feel like alot of the evil shit in re is a consequence of their time and umbrella itself.
Yup. As evil and crazy the twins are, they were a consecuence of Alexander Ashford's selfishness: Alexander didn't want children to love and care for, but means to fix his failures, shamelessly exploiting Alexia's talents for evil and selfish gain. And Alfred was an unintended byproduct of the experiment, which caused Alexander to give up on him.
