Since that is a professional model, I guess that makes you a professional user - lol It looks like a very nice unit. The under side looks like it would hold 2 NVMe drives, but there is not a second connector - maybe in a different model. I also noticed the cooling pads under the drive, that’s a nice touch. I look forward to your review.
The long row of unpopulated pins is for a pci-e extension card and is only available on devices with intel cpu's. I don't know why because those AMD cpu's should have enough pcie-e lanes. It needs a special riser card and then you can put in a pci-e card which is connected with pci-e 3.0 x8. The original low height pci bracket fits when bending it a little bit. I put a 10G network card in my lenovo M920 tiny and put pfsense on it, so it serves as a tiny and powerful router. Lenovo also sells them with a nvidia quadro card, which would make it a nice video transcoding device.
Hei Morten. Well, at least with Dell and HP you can add/change memory/CPU and you won't loose the warranty. We've been doing that quite often back in a day and never had any problems with the warranty. Of course just keep original parts for the whole period of warranty in case you will need to send it back. Well, at least that is how it is here :-) Thanks for the video and good luck in all your projects ;-)
Very similar to my by now older M715q, but things have moved a bit around internally. Another nice compact PC I accidentally bought is the Asus PN50 approx 0.72 liter and much smaller footprint. AMD, of course....
What’s the use for the USB-A port on the front (USB 3.2 Gen 2)? I mean I know it’s a USB port but I’m trying to figure out a good use case for the increased bandwidth of 3.2 Gen 2.
I really love this form factor, sadly I was not able to find one that suited my need as a replacement for my SuperMicro 1U pfSense-box, ended up buying an HPE MicroServer Gen 10 Plus. Since I needed space for a 10GbE adapter.
Please say that you are going to upgrade to dual channel RAM (2 sticks) as you will see more improvements in the CPU/GPU benching and general use will be snappier !

I'm interested in editing insta360 one x2 5.7k video as well, potentially with this exact setup. (Or maybe 4750ge...or 5700g?) From the beginning of the video it sounds like you bought this m75q to try and do the same kind of video editing. Granted a desktop with a dedicated $700+ latest gen video card would be best, but I'm wondering if you thought this setup was workable for your needs. I'm really hoping it could work for me. I think most people go the desktop route and there doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there so I hope you don't mind sharing your experiences. Anyway thanks for an informative video, subscribed.
I had wanted a new little tiny PC for a while,, but the one I had worked just fine,, and was not really that slow,, but it was struggling with the 360 footages,, and I used this excuse to upgrade :-)
@@MyPlayHouse Did it make much of a difference? I hear Premiere Pro is affected more by a lot of memory rather than a big graphics card, if two systems with late-model processors are compared. Hello Mårten! Was it expensive, how much in SEK, DK or NOK? I am kind of liking this small form factor, seems to pack a big punch. But really I am looking for a gaming laptop for my next buy, as my system (stationary, old 1150 CPU with GTX 970) is getting old now. All the best from Sweden. 🙂 Heill auk Sæll!
I'd stick with 4650GE, it's not much different than 4750GE, if you find a proper (1U server or similar) dense fins copper heatsing, go with 65W 4750G, would be much better improvement, because else it's not much difference between 4650GE -> 4750GE (or 4650G -> 4750G)... But from 35W 4650GE to 65W 4750G it may be quite cool (but hotter CPU :PPP)... And get a 90W charger (or more) , I'd recommend 120W if you're going to connect a hub to USB-C, except if you'll connect active one, with own power supply... Else, the RAM stick for dual channel should not bump a performance that much overall, but it will significantly improve the graphic performance of that chip, so if you're gonna use to do anything with graphics like editing those fabulous videos, I'd highly recommend you get a good, low-latency and high speed dual channel kit ;) Overall performance in some workloads would bump from 5-25%, but graphic even up to 50% in well optimized software (or games) ... Congrats, another great video! P.S.: You're getting rid of old mini-pc? I'd be interested in that old xeon thingy :))
