Joan started out as a natural beauty and talent to boot with a little copycat persona she molded very well into her own image and what a image it still is today,Im glad to say im here biggest fan,But everybody else is to,But i got one up,She let me run my hands through her 80's shag at a local venue before she cut it off,The stickey hair spray didn't wash off right away but that was 👌

Always liked Joan's cover of this Bo Gentry/Joey Levine tune. Back in 1969 studio singer Tony Orlando cut this song under the group named Wind. Of course Orlando would go on to make many hit songs.

One of those rare instances where the cover is much better than the original. Few people know this was originally recorded in 1969 by a one-hit wonder bubblegum band called ‘Wind’, which featured Tony Orlando, before Dawn. Joan has always been pretty smart with her choices of covers, as to not pick songs that are obvious (‘I Love Rock and Roll’ is also a very obscure cover, but how many people know that?). She definitely does this one way more justice than old Mr. “Tie a yellow ribbon ‘round the old oak tree” did, even if he did it first. One of my favorites from Joan’s first solo album.

Kenny Laguna also picked a lot of the songs Joan ended up recording. They are inseparable.

In the real world, Wind never existed. It was a studio band put together by the producer to record a few songs. When "Make Believe" became a hit, they hired the same guy they had hired to sing those first songs to record an entire album. Every single musician used was a studio musician. I have that album and Tony Orlando's name does not appear anywhere on it. Joan had nothing to do with choosing this song. It was her producer who was the same producer who produced Wind who chose it for her to record. I have everything Joan Jett ever released, and I've always liked her and her music. The fact that she has had such a great career speaks to her talent and the music professionals who surrounded her from the first Runaways album to today. I bought her "Bad Reputation" album the very first time I saw it in a record store because I already had every Runaways album.

Cool. I never saw this video before and I thought I saw all of her views. Long ago I even purchased the 2-disc set that Joan and her manager, Kenny, VJ'ed and this wasn't on there. It started with the video of her singing 'Bad Reputation' as part of "Urg! A Music War!" documentary.

@@tomt6142 - It's a misconception that most of her songs are covers, and the misconception stems from the fact that the covers are the most well-known, but in actuality, the vast majority of her songs are originals (and there are plenty of them).
