Adio Ash I always get asked where I’m from and many people first say America, Australia, South Africa, but never England 🇬🇧🙈 I’m originally from Wimbledon 🎾
got this light due to this video and im considering buying another because its compact, light is super soft, much better than other more expensive lights ive owned.
It's a fantastic light, I did however drop a video on it's successor the other day, the RB9, worth checking out, you can use and charge it at the same time, it has an app now, excellent light.
Well, that's really on your own risk, I'm sure it'll work, I'm guessing they just wrote that to insure themselves in case it overheats and causes a problem.
Glad someone pointed this out. These reviews are meaningless without saying how the camera is setup. If it’s iso100 and f4, it’s amazing but iso5000 and f1.4, not so much!
I just ordered two! I'm curious about two things. What is the battery life when using it at 100%? Can you power plug it and keep it at 100% as long as you like?
If I had to choose, I’d go with the successor to this light, the Weeylite RB9. It’s at a great price, it’s packed full of features and it’s been used and tested by me quite a lot. I made a video about it with links to it in the description. Hope that helps!
A Q T A II well this really depends on the style, the iso, f-stop, etc. I would’t use them to light a music video myself as they’re just too small sources. Like I said though, it really depends on your personal situation.
I just ordered 2. I was going to plug in a usb cables while I'm using it. I read that this is not possible. I know it will not charge the battery while using. Can I run it off the usb? Is there a solution?
Hi Michael, sorry for the late reply, yes, I'm afraid you're right, it isn't possible to power it off a powerbank or usb socket. As soon as you plug it in to a power source, it will automatically switch off, it's actually one of very few lights that do that. However, it's usually very rare that I find myself completely discharging the battery, so it's not something I notice as I mainly use it as an effects light. If you feel you need it as a light that is on for longer, I'd recommend returning them and buying something like the Aputure MC which has very similar functions plus a few more, and you can power it off a powerbank for as long as you like, the same goes for the Pilotfly Atomcube RX1, fantastic light which can also run off a powerbank. I hope that helps!
Thank you both. This is the information I was looking for before purchasing. I got ebay offers from a seller for $46 each thought was a good price for RGB but not being able to run it off external power source is a deal breaker for me. I’ll check the other reviews I subscribed for more awesome info. Thank you 😊
3:06 my understanding was you can power it on using a powerbank. Did you mean the light can keep on while connected? I just mine and is great but if I connected via usb to the wall or to a powerbank the light turns off.
No, I'm afraid not, sorry about that misunderstanding, you can use the power bank to charge it, but you can't use it at the same time, when attached it will turn off. It is a fantastic little light and I use it quite a lot, but yes, the charging time gets on my nerves, especially as some of the others can charge in an hour and also work when connected to a powerbank.
So I loved this light and more than loved the video quality. I'm currently revamping my set, and shopping for lighting. Can you please share a link to this light, not sure I found it in your kit link
Thank You! Well, this is a pretty cool pocket light, I have so many of them I don't add them all to my KIT, I'll make sure I do though. I've added a link to the description of this video. Thanks for dropping by 🔥
@@DayoSamuelMastery It's the Godox SL60W. I'd call it a budget Aputure 120D. It's okay, does what it's meant to, I use a large 120cm deep softbox on it. The remote is very useful, though it doesn't memorise what you did on the light, and visa versa, so that's a little annoying, apart from that, great budget light! I will make a review about it pretty soon as I've been using it for a while and I feel I know it pretty well know.
Thank You! Not really, no, but I should be getting the new version in the post this week, so I'll test it out and drop a review soon! That apparently has a great fire effect.
@@NicolasWaldvogel I literally just got it this morning, I'll test it out this week, check the battery, the charge, and basically use it to see how it works out and I'll drop a review soon.
Well, if I have to be honest, which I will be both lights pump out a really nice soft light, have very similar features, but the Pilotfly has a bit more kick to it, and has bluetooth options so you can control it, and not only that, connect a whole bunch of them together and either control them together or separately. The colour options and CCT options in the Pilotfly are also a lot more complex, as well as firmware updates through the app which really give it a ton of points. The Viltrox is lighter and smaller, but not by much.
Really? I've been using mine quite a lot since this video and it still works fine, mind you I've recently been using the RB9 a lot more, that's an update to this little guy.
Like an oven! The majority of these lights get pretty hot, it's not something to worry about, some get volcano hot and are uncomfortable to touch, especially the full metal body ones, it's just their way of getting rid of some of the heat.
@@PhillipSkraba i have the weelite and another one from amazon same price but it will go in protection mode, i might add some small holes for heat to dissipate
this review is exactly what i needed to hear. the stop motion clips truly persuaded my purchase ;)

You can buy 4 of them instead of buying expansive brand * 2. So the power is enough for 4ea.
You’re missing a huge opportunity to say “please subskraba”
Oh no! That is perfect! "make sure you subskraba" 😂 Fantastic!
