Hes definitely using words and he warps his sound with the beat and his emotions creating a blend that leaves you with no choice but to feel what he was saying. And if you think this is not by design, shows how much you understand music, and what you listen for.
Picasso, and plenty other painters create paintings where body parts are misplaced or straight up mashups, yet he gets honored as a genius, where as young thug gets lots of criticism for doing the same crazy ideas. I really believe society focuses on a persons image rather than their work.

I really like the so called "mumble rap" crowd of artists. You got me mentioning Picasso, I feel like these artists gets so much hate because rap as an art form has some set of standards like message, delivery and getting your point clearly, yet these artists deconstructs and completely flip these rules. It's a bit abstract. I feel like there's a linking between mumble rap and scat singing from jazz artists. It's not really about WHAT the artists are saying, it's mostly about the musicality and the feeling.
