The man has enough energy to power a small city.
‘Small’ city my ass
Enough energy to power an army of guitarist looking to learn the ways of the master.
Paul has made so many useful instructional videos, the effort he puts into educating the next generation of guitar players is awesome. This combined with his musical contributions, that is the most fulfilling life a musician can have. Paul is truly the model musician. Much respect and love from Poland.
Pozdrowienia, przyłączam się :)
I was just thinking the same thing. He's truly investing into his replacements in the next generations.
I'll say one thing, Paul is a considerate teacher. There are so many egocentric shredheads on RUclips, who play as fast as Han Solo doing the Kessel Run, with no regard to those who come here to learn. Sir I salute you.
Paul is one of the best teachers around. I really feel like I'm sitting across from him right now and he's talking to me directly
It is easy to learn from Paul. He is a very good teacher, and is very concise with the note spelling.
the bob ross of shred.god bless Paul Gilbert!
Indeed.
Haha yep 😁
could not have said it better myself, what a beast
This guy is everything a guitar player should be...extremely skillful, gentleman...and wearing no stupid hat or anything to try and stand out. Everything is in the heart and the passion!
I could watch the first minute of that every minute for the next hundred years and never get bored.
I met him once... he introduced himself to me as if I didn't know who he was lol... what a nice guy!
How did You meet him??
The rhythm section is Gary Moore - Gonna Break My Heart Again. Awesome solo Paul! (y)
Paul really feels the Music he's playing whether it be a Lesson , Tutorial, Live Performance or in the Studio 😍
This guy always motivates me, love u paul
Even there are a many many great guitarist right now.... But Paul is Paul.... Truly Amazing
What a solid guy with true love for music and sharing it with others. He's got it thank you Paul
Even when I can't play your lessons, they help me be a better player.
So thankful for these series of greats talking guitar: Satch, Vai, Paul....such a freaking goldmine!
I have to say I've really come to love Paul Gilbert. I was unaware of him until a few years ago (My bad), but he just comes across so genuine.. so little ego, for so much talent. Keep up the great work Paul.
PG is the best and coolest teacher who also KNOWS REALLY HOW TO PLAY. Some teachers know theory only.
Probably the best guitarist in the world, nice that he mentions Gary Moore
I remember jamming with him when I was a student at g.i.t was awesome experience jamming at those open counseling sessions
This guy is a genius...
Paul Gilbert is just so awesome, I learned so much from his lessons . He the MAN!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘📦
For the longest time I couldn't figure out where Bucketheads pick magically went when he wasn't using it.. Seeing Paul do it is pretty rad. Now eye see 🙏
Love the amazing Pablo Gilberto!
Paul talked about drop the 6th note thing in the masterclass tour this year, really cool and useful! Love you Paul, you are the best teacher! 😘
This guy is way better than most!
Some would say he's the best.
@@burnindownthehouse for me he is! One of the best
What I also would really love to learn is all the other cool licks and stuff he threw in around the one he was teaching.
Paul is too too too fantastic.....he's really a wonderful teacher...I'd like getting lessons from him...but I should be a litttle scared in the same time...!!...Cool that he mentioned Gary Moore, the Legend, Gary is one of Paul's favourite guitar player...Paul said in a video that when he's gonna in studio for the first time he brought with him the Gary Moore album "Corridor of power" and asked to the sound ingenering, "I want this sound"...something like that....Two awsome guitar players livin only for the music...God bless you two...
Instant likability! Wow! Just got hooked onto your playing. Keep rocking.
Paul Gilbert as a teacher is the GOAT!!
the best in the business.....Paul is too cool...
I see why buckethead would take lessons from you master!!
they were both young and he had about 6 lessons from paul.
Good from start to finish as usual!
Hello of an intro Paul...holy cow and excellent lesson
Nice. Thanks again, Paul.
My god....Master Gilberto stop it please, this is so good that only the chord progression loop was already a lesson...hahaha
Only the coolest guitarists watch Paul Gilbert instructional videos ; ) If you're down with P, well then you're down with me.
love yr work PG.
I come from Thailand
Paul master thanks my idol
Thanks for sharing, you are a Legand, appreciate your Talent
the intro alone was worth a like!
OMG I needed this effort level !!! Well done brother, thanks
This guy leave most RUclips teachers to shame.
I really think he could be the worlds greatest player, honestly who can top him?!
Great love this guy since the 80s :-)
Thank you so much MR. Gilberto! Always... 😎🤟❤
I’m so glad Paul is a teacher
6:50 .... He went Super Sayan !!!!!!!
God of the Guitar
Der Mann ist wirklich klasse, ich mag ihn auch als Mensch, als Gitarrist ist er sowieso großartig.
Easy as ABC the way he teaches this . fun to add your own flair. Th Paul
i'm 5 foot 6. pauls fingers are longer than my legs
Wow you must have pretty long legs
yes, but is your ego bigger???
I think he is 6'4". So that helps out a whole lot! Long fingers.
Buy a youth guitar and continue on with your life
Angus Young is 5ft 2 so what's your problem again?
Holy shit! I can finally play it! Only took a year🤣🤣🤣
He just Draws me in.
Mervelous.... you are my always favourite
Paul Gilbert is the best!
The keeanu reeves of guitar 😎💪
What a rad dude!
Great! Thanks Paul. (:
You are the one for me forever...^^ really thanks...^^
Amazing.
Anyone else use their ring finger where Paul typically uses his middle for notes 2 & 5 of this scale? Is that wrong or just my preference?
Yes
I like it
Good teacher
Im glad to know he was built with a metronome.
Such a fucking great person!
It doesn't hurt having two foot long fingers
Even Paul Gilbert couldnt help me become a better guitarist
just asking out of curiosity, is that Dweezil Zappa playing in the beginning, it doesnt sound like paul byt sounds like dweezil to me
Nathan Easty
I hated all that shredding in the 80's when he had long hair and I had short hair. Now I've got long hair and he's got short hair, what's hair got to do with it? He's frikin awesome! lol
Thanks man
nice❤❤❤
He makes the best faces!!!
Why that marshall has purple colured light?
Now with humbuckers please 🙏
I wish it was just like All Might and all you gotta do was chew on one of his hair to get all his skills haha.
I always think Paul Gilbert had the best guitar face when playing
I believe Miyako of Lovebites has the best guitar face while playing.
1:58 things tat u will see once in a blue moon.
And that too free of charge? Halleluiah!
Lmao Paul's pinky is bigger that my pointer finger.
Paul can make a twangy guitar sound good as well!!!
Nossa que energia
1:50 when it's time to change......
How to join with Paul Gilbert school online?
Is that a Marshall vintage modern ?
Is that a MARSHALL DSL 40CR, Paul?
Any idea why the title is E minor lick, when he is playing in D major scale? I am a little confused.
Yes since there’s no 7th being played it’s ambiguous if your looking at it in terms of a D scale. So, you can’t really tell if it’s Dmajor or Dmixolydian which would be the fifth mode of Gmajor . But, since the chord progression is in E minor, it is best to analyze this as an E minor scale .
Wow! Who is this guy? 😳
Im kinda late to the party but does anyone know what BPM he plays at 6:50?
I think around 115-120
😍
Steve Stain for me is the best teacher even if i love gilber.
What kind of Eminor scales are using paul...? It's not pentatonic :(
CiroSG99 Pentatonic scale is 5 notes from the full natural e minor scale.
In his case he uses this scale which is a diatonic e minor scale which includes all 7 notes in a scale.
P.S. Notes in this particular E minor scale are:
E, F#, G, A, B, C, D.
For basic fret positions starting with low E.
6str. - 12, 14, 15.
5str. - 12, 14, 15.
4str. - 12, 14, 16.
3str. - 12, 14, 16.
2str. - 12, 13, 15.
1str. - 12, 14, 15.
I hope it will help you.
Cheers :)
Volodymyr Makovskyy Thanks for help man.
Michael Herscheid no problem man :)
He's playing in D mixolydian which is in the key of G major / E minor then resolving to E Pentatonic at the end of the riff 6:56 & 7:04 since the riff is in E minor he resolves at the end to E pentatonic, great playing so pro...
I have a ditto looper but when i have overdrive on a loop and play over that with overdrive it sounds like shit.
First of all you need to make sure the looper is after the overdrive - if you're using an overdrive pedal you should put it before the looper (guitar->OD->looper).
If you are using your amp for overdrive you will need to plug the looper into the effects loop of your amp (guitar->amp, FX send->looper->FX return).
If your amp doesn't have the FX loop - you might need to set the amp to clean and use an OD pedal instead.
Second AND third thing - try using less overdrive AND less volume on the backing track. The easiest way - you could roll back the volume on your guitar to record the backing track and then roll it back up to solo.
If still too loud - use the knob on your looper to adjust the volume of the backing track.
Hope this helps, cheers!
Paúl rudd?
Want to take lessons from him. But all i will get is his videos and not him teaching directly in artistworks, which is okay but i'll be left with doubts and queries which will remain unresolved.
Paul kinda looks like dr strange cool
What is the name of song? Or this is just lesson?
Gonna break my heart again from Corridors of power with Gary Moore
He must have a high tension string on his guitar. His Sound is very pregnant when he play clean
