    Paul has made so many useful instructional videos, the effort he puts into educating the next generation of guitar players is awesome. This combined with his musical contributions, that is the most fulfilling life a musician can have. Paul is truly the model musician. Much respect and love from Poland.

    I'll say one thing, Paul is a considerate teacher. There are so many egocentric shredheads on RUclips, who play as fast as Han Solo doing the Kessel Run, with no regard to those who come here to learn. Sir I salute you.

    Any idea why the title is E minor lick, when he is playing in D major scale? I am a little confused.

    • @theconspiracyofnoize5984
      @theconspiracyofnoize5984 4 года назад

      Yes since there’s no 7th being played it’s ambiguous if your looking at it in terms of a D scale. So, you can’t really tell if it’s Dmajor or Dmixolydian which would be the fifth mode of Gmajor . But, since the chord progression is in E minor, it is best to analyze this as an E minor scale .

    What kind of Eminor scales are using paul...? It's not pentatonic :(

    • @volodymyrmakovskyy1183
      @volodymyrmakovskyy1183 6 лет назад

      CiroSG99 Pentatonic scale is 5 notes from the full natural e minor scale.
      In his case he uses this scale which is a diatonic e minor scale which includes all 7 notes in a scale.
      P.S. Notes in this particular E minor scale are:
      E, F#, G, A, B, C, D.
      For basic fret positions starting with low E.
      6str. - 12, 14, 15.
      5str. - 12, 14, 15.
      4str. - 12, 14, 16.
      3str. - 12, 14, 16.
      2str. - 12, 13, 15.
      1str. - 12, 14, 15.
      I hope it will help you.
      Cheers :)

      He's playing in D mixolydian which is in the key of G major / E minor then resolving to E Pentatonic at the end of the riff 6:56 & 7:04 since the riff is in E minor he resolves at the end to E pentatonic, great playing so pro...

  • @adamboof6769
    @adamboof6769 6 лет назад

    I have a ditto looper but when i have overdrive on a loop and play over that with overdrive it sounds like shit.

    • @adamf.3829
      @adamf.3829 5 лет назад

      First of all you need to make sure the looper is after the overdrive - if you're using an overdrive pedal you should put it before the looper (guitar->OD->looper).
      If you are using your amp for overdrive you will need to plug the looper into the effects loop of your amp (guitar->amp, FX send->looper->FX return).
      If your amp doesn't have the FX loop - you might need to set the amp to clean and use an OD pedal instead.
      Second AND third thing - try using less overdrive AND less volume on the backing track. The easiest way - you could roll back the volume on your guitar to record the backing track and then roll it back up to solo.
      If still too loud - use the knob on your looper to adjust the volume of the backing track.
      Hope this helps, cheers!
