  • Join me as I revisit the thrilling Japan Camping Car Show in Chiba, Asia's largest outdoor event that drew in over 50,000 visitors! With 79 manufacturers and 165 exhibitors showcasing their camper cars and related products over 16,000m2, the event marked another year of growth.
Manufacturers reported strong sales and high customer turnout, setting a positive tone for the Japanese Camping Car industry. Personally, I find the Japanese RV Association's eagerness to learn from Europe's experiences to tackle local challenges promising, signaling a bright future for the expanding market.

I was there too. I find Japanese campers cute but quality not as good as European. Maybe due to low pricing.

I love how compact these campers are. But I think most campers in Japan don't have toilets/showers because campers mostly stay on campsites which have toilet and shower facilities. For me, those campsites might just as well add rooms and make it a motel. The challenge of camping is to go into the wilderness and spend the night in a wild wood or forest where there are no convenient facilities.

I am not sure Japan has plenty of wilderness. For countryside you can always find toilets in convenience stores and can bath at onsen within half hour drive You can also get disposable toilets in Tokyo hands or camping store.
