Love it! - I was at this one - one of my first concerts. The bands crew hired my mates and I to help setup the gear. The amount of gaffa used to keep leads out of Peters way was phenomenal...
Thanks for posting - loved the Oils around this period - used to come home and put Place without a Postcard on 11 get the air guitar out and go off - and wonderful hear them live in venues like this - Tara's Dad
Fantastic recording and brilliant set list from the greatest pub rock band to ever exist. The guitar harmonies from Rotsey and Moginie are so uniquely brilliant and when backed up by one of the best engine rooms in the business you have a recipe for greatness.
23 Nov 2022 : Now we have the SA March 1982 trilogy to listen to with the news The Old Lion gig is to be released as part of The Desk Tapes series. Old Lion - Shandon Hotel - Whyalla. I was at the Old Lion & Shandon gigs.
Yep thanks for posting it .The tightest kick arse rock band I've ever heard . One complaint .I would've loved a live version of 'Nothing Lost ,Nothing Gained'
Look at the live album called "Live at the Wireless, 1978 - Studio 221", released 2017; it contains a live version of Nothing Lost - Nothing Gained, as well as Ensemble, Dust, Surfing with a Spoon, Powderworks, Run By Night, Used and Abused, and Take Me Down Easy, all from a concert on April 4, 1978. Currently, that's the only live version of that song I know of.
