I stumbled upon the TGCF donghua(Chinese anime) a few weeks ago, and after the first episode, I paused and did my research (because my old anime experiences told me this was not just any random anime). I found out about the original web novel, the craze over it and how famous it was. I beat my ass for having been living under a rock and hurriedly bought all 10 volumes and read it like a maniac.
I have to say, it's been a while since I've been this invested in a franchise. The writing is great on so many levels and the character development is painfully good. Ugh... my standards for men have been raised again. If I die alone, please know that it was because of how great of a "husband" Hua Cheng is in the book haha.
I'm planning on watching the rest of the donghua once season 2 comes out (hopefully later this year), so hopefully a few months later I'll have another TGCF cover ready.

The story of how you discovered it went just about how it did for me. I was hyper-fixated on it for months, finishing the novel in a week and consuming any fanfic/fanart/fan-animation content I could find. I adore it so much, and I think it's truly a story I'll remember fondly for the rest of my life.
