I just brought an KitchenAid back to life, thanks for your videos. I ordered the everdime from your shop, so i hope you will get something out of it. Thank you very much for your efforts here on RUclips and greetings from germany! 👍😉
Thank YOU! I have watched several of your videos and about a year ago I took a chance on a Kitchenaid at a resale shop. Following your direction, I redid the worm gear and grease, cleaned, ordered a few parts from you and it is my work horse. So now I watched this video and found a mixer on Ebay (priced for nothing) that the low speeds does not run. Ding Ding. Ordered it and 20 seconds out of the box, per your directions, I had it running. The screws had backed out. It will get a new worm gear, grease, calibration and cleaning (BTW the Tub O' Towels smell amazing). Thanks again.
This is amazing! I have a 23 year old 5qt mixer and it needed some TLC. This video was so helpful and allowed me to adjust my mixer to like new. Thank you!
Mr. Mixer, thank you very much for the KitchenAid mixer tuneup tutorial. It was very helpful. You are very good teacher. With all the mixers you have waiting you must be very busy in your business. It's hard to find people like you that do repairs on small appliances. Thank you again for producing the video. You take care and God bless.
Thanks for your help on this. Wife "dropped" her Artisan Kitchenaid, and when she turned it back on it made a horrible noise and stopped working. Watching a combination of 2 or 3 of these videos helped me order the parts I needed. Ended up repairing the spped controller and a broken gear. I went ahead and ordered the Ever Dime as a donation, and it was definitely beneficial. Thanks again, Mr. Mixer.
This was incredibly useful for KitchenAid newbies like myself and my wife. “Fixed” (calibrated 😂) my wife’s grandmas old kitchenaid bouncing issue following this guide and ordered the everdime to avoid this issue moving forward. Thanks a bunch!!
Just *today* was gifted a KitchenAid Stand Mixer Classic Plus from a local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook by a woman in the nicer part of town. She said the mixer was leaking oil and she wanted to give it away. I alluded to the fact that these machines can be fixed-thinking of your TikTok and that she’d keep it and send it out for repair-she insisted on giving it away and chose me, luckily. So picked it up. Now I just got done following this guide video to clean up and adjust it. I had no idea it’d be *this* easy to do. I may have to calibrate the speeds, but it seems fine-oh, and my mixer has the spring mechanism of the older models! Anyway, thank you so much for this. Let my pizza and bread making journey begin!

You have helped me to see what I need to do. I have a KitchenAid, it leaks oil. When I use it on speed 5 or 6. I am going to break it down and clean it up. Replace the wax or oil. The head does move up and down a little. I will be adding the everdime. To see if it stops the bounce. I bought it used; it needs lots of TLC. As a 70 yrs. old, without your videos, I would never attempt to do this. Thank you.
I bought a KAM90 about two years back that's been sitting in pieces waiting to be painted and greased for about two years. I'm waiting on the gasket from Amazon to come, and I'll finally be ready to use this thing! Never knew they needed to be tuned and calibrated!!
Thanks for the info! I re-calibrated my mixer speeds and only shocked myself once when I accidentally touched the metal piece between the adjustment screws!
Thank you for the lesson on adjusting speed screws. My Proline KSM5 is now 32 years old. I’ve used it in my bakery in early 2000’s fora few years as well. Mostly a home use. BTW when I opened it up there was a little flour dust but no signs of leaking oil or oil stains
Thank you for this video--it was after cleaning the mixer per your guidance and starting to tune it that I realized my mixer's speed control plate has a crack in it, effectively keeping the bottom screw from being able to tighten or loosen at all. No wonder the speeds don't seem distinct! I've bought a replacement from you, and I will definitely refer to your video on installing a speed plate when it arrives! (I've also bought an Everdime from you. :) )
@@MrMixer316 Hi there! Just a quick followup to let you know that I've now received both my Everdime and speed plate, installed them both, and given my Kitchenaid the most thorough tune-up and calibration it's probably received since the factory. Thanks again!
Thank you. I was ready to buy a different mixer because it was to fast on low. It was what a 6 was. Flour everywhere every time. I turned it down low than what you recommended. I like a slow stir and have the option to speed it up if I want.
Great video, I was just considering buying a old used kitchen aid hoping I'd be able to just give it some servicing. These old style machines holds up forever just like VHS and tape recorders 😅
It's rare, but minor electric shocks can disrupt your heartbeat (cardiac arrhythmia) causing no symptoms initially, but weird symptoms and death hours or even days later. I suggest you buy an insulated screwdriver ($15 for a Harbor Freight set) considering how often you as a professional are adjusting mixer speeds with live voltage. You're risking it anytime you work on live equipment, but at least an insulated screwdriver set would reduce your daily exposure to the risk.
I finally got my mixer up and running again after a bit of headache! Your videos were extremely helpful during the process. My problem ended up being that plastic arm that pushes the speed control plate back and forth had partially melted after I overheated the mixer. I replaced that arm (after first trying to replace the phase control board and the speed control plate itself with no luck) and it finally works perfectly now. I wasn’t able to find any videos on this issue on your channel (or anywhere else online). Could be an idea for a future video! Because with that piece being plastic, and overheating the mixer likely being a common mistake, I’m sure there are others with the melted arm issue out there. Thanks for your help!
Just subscribed to this channel. I have a 1984 or thereabouts KitchenAid. I think it's 5.5 cups. It's a phenomena machine and has been for all this time, but I think it needs a serious servicing. I'll probably find a pro nearby, but at least I won't feel stupid when I discuss what needs to be done to it.
Just went down a very long rabbit hole of your videos! Loving them! & now I'm wondering if there's something I can do about the grease that works is way thru the attachment head? It mixes into the meat when I tried my grinder attachment😢
Wow Thanks I would have never thought of the screw on the speed control, being lose could stop unit from turning off. In faith I took apart found screw was a 1/2 turn lose. It fixed the problem. 27879 is the number from the inside of blender. Does this give production date?😂
Very useful video, thanks for the information that I would never have figured out on my own. Also watched your tear down, replace plastic gear and grease videos. I adjusted the height on my tilt head mixer which uses the glass bowl. No problem there, but now the head lock switch doesn't seem to fully engage as the back side of the lock lever hits the metal stand. Also, on the right side of the mixer is a tiny flat head set screw. What is this for?
In a sea of mixer videos yours are the best! Got the speeds dialed in but for some reason my mixer does not have sufficient power/torque and easily gets stuck when mixing butter or dough or anything causing resistance to the paddle. Any ideas? Thank you!!
Have you swapped any gears? It could be the worm gear If you have replaced it with one off of Amazon. If not, next would be the phase board and then potentially the field assembly
@@MrMixer316 you are a true mixer guru.. yes I replaced the worm gear with one from Amazon. Love your channel. Found it while researching why my 1989 K445sswh mixer purchased for $15 at a yard sale wouldn't turn off with the switch. Learned how to adjust the board so it works fine now. Do have a question though. I adjusted the accessory height so that the batter paddle works fine with the dime, and I have to order a shorter dough hook. The one that came with it is 1 1/8" too long. I have two wire wisps that are too long. Are there different height wisp accessories for these mixers? Thanks again and expect a donation immediately!

Great video!!! We have a new Kitchen Aid mixer and I was looking into grinding meat using an attachment. The problem I have heard is that the fluids (blood) can leak back into the housing of the mixer and really make a mess. Would you have any advice regarding how to prevent that happening. Specifically, I saw this was a problem when using the GVODE meat grinder attachment. Any assistance would be appreciated.
This was a great video. I will be doing this after I fix my current problem. My KitchenAid mixer lock lever is stuck in the middle and doesn't want to move either way. The head is locked in the downward position. Is there a simple fix for this? Thank you!

I have a K5SS from 84 that I was gifted a few months ago. I regreased and repainted it. Although, even after adjusting the screws, it seems to be at max speed after number 2. Any suggestions? I've been thinking about getting a new speed board, considering it's age....
@@MrMixer316 Appriciate it! I'll definetly have to look into it some more, but I bought a new speed governor so I'll get that board replaced soon, thanks!
Hi Mr Mixer, if I had already replaced the speed control board, the governor, the speed control plate (and adjusted the screws accordingly) but the stir speed to speed 4 are all on the same fast speed (speed 6-10 is where the speed starts to increase). what else could be the problem?
quick question, bought a brand new KA Artisan 325 watt mixer about a year ago and it slows down and noticeably loses power under a load, esp like bread dough. (my daughter is a pastry chef so she KNOWS her mixers and what they are supposed to do) Contacted kitchenaid under the warranty and they simply sent a new one and didnt want the original one back. But I'd like to try and repair the first one, any thoughts on what I should look for ?
Mr Mixer, please help! I have a Professional 6qt lift model. I have adjusted the height screw as far as I can, but when I put my whisk attachment in it is hitting the bottom of my bowl, to the point that I have a permanent circle scraped in the bottom of my mixing bowl and I had to throw out a huge batch of whipped cream because it got metal bits in it! My whisk is the only one that hits the bottom. I even bought a new whisk thinking there was something wrong with it. The height screw is turned as far as it can go. What can I do?
You have it turned clockwise all the way correct? Unfortunately there isn't much than can be done. You could try and turn it over and loosen the little nut that you'll see up in the neck. Just loosen it a little bit and it may allow for it to sit a little lower but otherwise not much else can be done
Hi, not sure if you are inclined to answer questions that are not related to the video, but I guess asking does not hurt. I am in Europe. I have in front of me a US Kitchen Aid that is almost new, and an incomplete 230V Kitchen Aid that I have used for parts. So naturally, I will take out the motor from the latter and put it into the former, so I can run it without a transformer. Mechanically that's easy, but since I don't know that much about motors I wonder if I need to change the stator as well, or if all the differences are in the rotating part. Thank you in advance!
I have a professional series mixer that is loud and the rpm’s are slower than 60 per minute. Is there a way to tune this machine? It looks nothing like the artisan model with the cover off. Enjoy and learn from your videos. 👍🏻
Hey, appreciate your videos. I've been able to address most of the issues I've had with my mixer. Just wondering if you've got a solution for the metal bowl coming loose on the artisan mixer? I've tried a couple of "fixes" I've found on line, but no luck....
@@MrMixer316 We actually got a replacement mixer from KA. When we reported the same problem, they sent us a ceramic bowl instead. I think it may be a problem with the ridges on the metal bowl?

Another great video! As gross as the grease spill marks were, I can't get over how gorgeous that metallic mid-blue color is! It is obviously a limited edition blue shade by KitchenAid but the company should really offer that as a standard color choice. Would you know what the exact color is called by KitchenAid? Another question is: can the mixer speed also be calibrated in the bowl-lift KitchenAid mixers, particular the pro 600 series mixers? (and if so, did you make a video of it?) THANKS!!!
@@rgruenhaus No, that's not cobalt blue. I have the same 6 qt pro 600 mixer you have in cobalt blue. This limited edition blue color featured is metallic and lighter than cobalt blue - like an electric blue shade but I am not aware of its official KA name. Another limited shade that KA makes in that series is called "Seaglass" which is a more metallic aquamarine blue
I tried everything with the screws but first stir speed is too fast ... Almost equals to soeed 4 or 6 (120rpm) There's a difference between all speed ( except the first 2 or 3 can't differenciate them ) So don't know where's my issue coming from :/

99% the phase board needs replaced. It's also potentially an issue with your governor
@@MrMixer316 Appriciate it! I'll definetly have to look into it some more, but I bought a new speed governor so I'll get that board replaced soon, thanks!
Hey, so I have a question. how would i do this for a bowl lift model? i have the KPM26M1XER. i cant find any videos on it. Thanks!
Go to my page and look at the series I have, we have a whole regrease and repair tutorial on the pro 600.
The phase board may be acting funny, it may just need tuned! We make a speed tune tutorial
Do you have any video/guide for a commerical mixer?
I do not but I need to get one done!
Where can I buy the washer that you used? My head of the unit wobbles a tad when it’s on
The everdime is available on our website mrmixer.store
Can you use Tub O Towels on the gears?
I can't find parts for my Artesian Mixer....they're all on backorder! Any suggestions?
What do you need?
My kenwood stand mixer is making funny noises and i saw a bit of oil when I changed the attachment. What can i do please?
Thank you!
I have a professional series mixer that is loud and the rpm’s are slower than 60 per minute. Is there a way to tune this machine? It looks nothing like the artisan model with the cover off. Enjoy and learn from your videos. 👍🏻
I have some tutorials on the professional models, the speed is wholly determined by the speed board, you can't adjust it
Thanks
Thank you
Hi Mr. mixer, are you going to do any new videos anytime soon and any giveaways? I have a few friends who are following you now as well.
I'm trying to get freed up to make more videos, we got really busy so I haven't had time due to having a large work load!
Hi there, my kitchen aid machine blowing green light from the side where the speed increase or decrease can you please help me what happens with it.?
That's normal, that is just the arc from the brushes running along the motor armature
Hey, appreciate your videos. I've been able to address most of the issues I've had with my mixer. Just wondering if you've got a solution for the metal bowl coming loose on the artisan mixer? I've tried a couple of "fixes" I've found on line, but no luck....
Have you replaced the base plate?
@@MrMixer316 We actually got a replacement mixer from KA. When we reported the same problem, they sent us a ceramic bowl instead. I think it may be a problem with the ridges on the metal bowl?
@@JB11381 oh yes I've seen that a few times!!
when should you change you brushs? its a k5ss older machine!
Hello, I have seen your videos and I see that you know about these machines, let's see if you can help me, I have an artisan but after changing the plastic pinion, it has no power to beat bread dough, the strange thing is that it works perfectly in empty but after having dough it becomes weak
Do you have a website we can order parts from? I need to order an everdimeb hopefully this will solve my problem. Also do you happen to know of any KitchenAid mixer repair centers in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area? Thank you!
We do! Mrmixer.store and we offer a super easy process to send your machine to us as well!
@@MrMixer316 thank you I just placed my order!
My piece with the spring that holds the attachments on is gross. Is there not a way to get it off to clean it?
I need a switch for my pro600. Where can I get it
We have then available on our website Mrmixer.store
What about replacing the front gear for attachments. Mine won't turn...what's wrong?
It's as simple as disassemble and popping the old gear out and sliding the new one in! Either the bevel gear or the hub gear is broken! We have a bunch of tutorials for diy or send it in to us for repair!
@@MrMixer316 ok thanks...used socket drive to get it to turn and loosen up. Did not seem to be broken. May have got heated during use.
I just replaced the speed control board on my KitchenAid and now at high speeds the governor seems to be sparking. Is that normal??
@@cathybusch9826 the governor shouldn't spark, it must be contacting wires or something fishy is going on
What do I need to do to be in for the mixer drawings?
Unfortunately that was ceased, it ended up being too much to do with our current work load!
Can I purchase the Everdime (sp) rubber washer for my mixer from you?
Absolutely! It's available on our website Mrmixer.store
Donde tiene su negocio
I have a question I have a proline and it’s 35 to 40 years old and I can’t find serial number can you help me with that
Hello, I have a question .My device did not turn on after changing gears. would you please tell me the reason?
Is it a professional 600/pro 5 plus? If so the issue almosf certainly lies with the speed board
Thank you for response.
The model of my device is Artisan 5KSM-125 EAG
@@arezoomohaseb3838 did you mess with the carbon motor brushes under the plastic circle screws on the sides of the machine? They only go in one particular way! That's the most likely issue! We have a brush install guide
Thank you for your explanation.
With your good explanation, my device was fixed. Thank you very much for providing me with your information. Good day
Do you know what may be the cause of a sputtering motor sound at low speeds?
Likely a speed control plate issue
@@MrMixer316 I saw one of your videos about calibrating it. I'll recheck that video. I hope I don't have to buy a new speed control plate. btw, thanks for the reply!
You should have a video on fixing the oil leak as it`s just going to leak more and more down the road. The grease needs to be replaced as it gets older it separates just like the sour cream in your fridge.
We do have a full regrease tutorial detailing just that
Another great video!
Cobalt blue! I have the kitchenaid 6 qt pro 600 lift stand mixer
Cant get the screw back in, why?
I tried everything with the screws but first stir speed is too fast ... Almost equals to soeed 4 or 6 (120rpm)
There's a difference between all speed ( except the first 2 or 3 can't differenciate them )
So don't know where's my issue coming from :/
Shoot us an email at mrmixer316@gmail.com with your issue and we can help you out!
How did the mess with your house turn out?
I have a full length video with a walkthrough of the house and discussing that that I need to post, as well as an update. Our house is totaled, we are in a rental looking for a new place
Heyyyyy!!!!
Long time no see!! Im really trying to produce more content here =( Hopefully in the next couple months ill have another hand in the shop freeing me up to produce long format content!!
Is there a business where i can just take mine in for them to clean? Cus i might mess it up and lose a piece. Haha
There aren't many places that do this. We do accept shipments and offer a 50$ flat rate label. We cover return shipping. Check out the shipping tab on our website Mrmixer.store
Nothing about gear grease?
In your opinion, what is the best stand mixer? I would like to get one but do not know what to get.
You do good but this video shows what garbage whirlpool made out of the hobert machines when they were bought out I think in the 80’s I can never buy any kitchen aide mixer primarily because users have complained of oil going into their batter!!
Did you get your thyroid taken out?
