Caleb’s vocal range always snatches my wig. Now forgive my terminology because I don’t know what it’s called, but hearing in songs how he can go from soft and soothing to the growl-like intensity in things like the chorus of this song. Not to mention those high notes, like the chills I still get from “this life is mine”, the Weiss song. Caleb’s insanely talented.

Your voice is perfect for this but in a completely different way to Poor Man's Poison, and I love it. Poor Man's Poison voice sounds almost like an outside observer. Someone telling the story of what's happening, in a way that doesn't make it any less horrific. Your take on it sounds almost like someone who's in the story, someone who's suffering from the dystopian world of this song (and what reality is swiftly becoming). Honestly your take feels more raw and emotional than the original.
I do agree, but I would like to bring up the idea that it sounds like: Poor Man's Poison: Someone in the middle of it, but not too involved. Like, a rando civilian. Caleb: Someone in the middle of it, fed up with it, and wanting to actively do something about it. Like, they're both in the middle of it, but different perspectives of it.

Amazing cover of an equally amazing song. The vocals in this and the original are almost toe to toe, which is a huge praise considering how great the original is. The advantage of this one is that it feels way more sinister and dark compared to the original, which does have those elements, but this one just amps it up to the maximum.
The original feels like a two-faced salesman or politician teasing and making fun of the people he's exploiting. This cover feels like the head of some organization making a speech at a very fancy ball or party trying to convince people that they're still on top of things and there's no way the people's revolt could ever oust them. All in all? Amazing cover! I will probably be listening to it on loop for the next week.
