There was probably some color editing done to the film but this is still a beautiful art study of evolution & genetics at play. The pigment of bison fur, the color of the vegetation in the light in this latitude in a bison habitat; the vegetation is dependent of bison & the bison dependant of the vegetation. The third player would be the predator’s eye. These beautiful scenes have co-evolved for hundreds of thousands of years in a dance of random DNA miscodings & prey-predator relationship, and the forest/half open woodland - herbivore ecology even longer. It makes me full of awe just to think about it ❤ I wish people understood how these species, ecosystems and landscapes came to be. How slow, hard, delicate and coincidental it has been. These are more precious masterpieces than anything human-made.
Gorgeous footage. As a Canadian, I did not even know of their existence. Discernably different in appearance from the North American Bison. Something in these remind of the worshipped cattle of India. I wonder how that similarity happens to be, or is simple coincidence.

The only thing missing was the busloads of Japanese tourists taking selfies and trying to pet them
