- Hi all.
This is very popular fish not only for sushi but soup or just served by baked. My dictionary says that this fish is called "sea bream" in English. (Is it right word?) We call ta-i in Japanese.
Sea bream is catered for the celebrating moment. You might see the news photo that the sumo wrestler holds up the big tai and smiles when he victories the tournament. Me-de-ta-i, Japanese word for celebration, consists of "ta-i".
Anyway, here's tips for drawing.
Tips:
1. Outline fin
Sea bream has very strong outline of fins. This is the most impressive part of this fish.
Your brush is lying 45 degree then push strong and slide like rocky craggy taste.
(Wash brush)
2. Eye
The eye is large.
Draw the thin line brush.
(Wash brush)
3. Mouth
Make the brush for thin line drawing.
Load black ink.
Two strokes for mouth.
Draw the line thick little bit.
To get thick, you put the brush harder.
(Wash brush)
4. Outline, tale fin, and upper fins
Load black ink.
Outline and fins are depicted with thick lines here.
Use the same technique as the tree branch drawing.
For upper fins, just draw like throwing off the brush hair.
5. Center line and eye line
Load very bright ink.
Use thin line drawing technique.
Underline the eye

I love your carefully calculated strokes. Beautiful.
Awesome, like the free, loose style, thanks.
Thank you
very good!!
*Impressed* :) How did you learn the technique to use the brush in this way? Was it from a book, someone you knew, or just playing around?
