I’m currently sitting in an airport in Montreal, Quebec, Canada waiting for my flight to Boston to run my first BM! I’m so excited. I feel like a little kid on the night before Christmas. Races are back!
Chicago!!! 70 degrees on the starting line will make it tough, but tomorrow will be all about gratitude for the opportunity to lace up alongside 36,000 people for the first time in 2 years. Good luck to everyone heading out from Grant Park around this time tomorrow morning
Aw Chicago. I should be doing Chicago again - sooo close to home and my daughter lives there but Boston in 2018 was such a crappy experience (worse weather ever) i had to go back and have a day to actually enjoy it. Good luck in Chicago
Thanks Seth! I’m running the Big Brad Ultra - 50 Mile trail race (aka The Punisher) in Pownal, Maine on Sunday. Good luck to everyone running this weekend as well 🤘🙌🙏🌎☮️☯️
Running a 10 mile race tomorrow, watching some of these videos to get pumped. It'll be a flat road race, I'm aiming for 1h20m which would be a PB. I'm 90% confident I can make this time!
I have to agree with Dermott from today's comment of the day. I have found that if I have a number of consecutive weeks over 50 miles I get injured,so I generally keep the weekly mileage under 50, but every now and the will throw in a 50 mile week and once even a 60. For this reason I have kept my racing at 5k / 10k with an occasional 10 miler. You have to know thyself!
Mad scientist indeed! Seth is breaking all the traditional marathon training rules. Can’t wait to see the results. On the flip side, wouldn’t it be interesting to see him train for an early spring half marathon where he would go through the winter months on low volume but high intensity (2-3x/week) training?
Hi Seth! Good Morning from Argentina! Just wanted to tell u how much your vids and good energy help me to stay positive to tackle my runs. I've been wanting to test myself on a proper race for a while now, so last week I signed up for my first half marathon ever. Its on another state so it will be a proper new experience. Wanted to run the whole marathon but a few runners friends of mine advice me to take it slow so I dont burnout, im 20 yo so "you still have a lot of years and races to come" they said. So again, super excited! Wanted to shere it with you
QD: im not racing this weekend because I suffering from knee pain so I’m strengthen my body before going back to running. However, my best friend who I’ve been “coaching” is doing the Hartford Marathon in CT today and he’s going to attempt to run a Boston Qualifier!! Kevin, you got this!
It's going to be an easy 30min run today. Ran my marathon last week end, first race in 2 years, and first marathon since Paris 2003, with a time of 3:21:00, which I consider not too bad for a 52 years old guy! And a perfect time to set a sub 3:15:00 goal for next year!
I’ve had the O’yeet for about a year and absolutely love it. Got it on sale and with an Amazon coupon and for the price it cannot be beat imho. It does get hot to the touch but otherwise 0 issues. Keep up the good work sir!
This makes me miss running, been without it for 85 days know and it’s been tough. The injury did allow me to realize my future is in posting on RUclips and figure out my career path
You talked about losing form and getting loosey goosey when you are tired and worn down. That’s actually how I just got an SI joint injury! I’m a flexible guy, and when I ramped up my mileage I lost my form cause of being tired, and then injured my si joint. But I’m on the mend! Praise God!
:qod: Seth, today I started my day (4:00am) with this vlog. Then I ran a virtual Melbourne Marathon since restrictions won't allow an in-person event just yet. Today I ran a PB - 2:58.58. Previous PB of 3:15.14 (2012). Back into running after 7 years off, and a massive thank you to you (your vlogs) and DGR Worldwide (tips in the comment section) for helping me learn to run faster for longer, to ENJOY every session, to push through the challenges, and to push myself to achieve what I dared not dream possible even 9 months ago - a sub 3 hour marathon. Thank you DGR Worldwide!
Congratulations! That's an awesome accomplishment! And extra impressive that it was a virtual run, so no cheering fans or other competitors to push you. Way to go!!!!
QD: I've got my first ever half marathon road race tomorrow in London, The Royal Parks. Currently trying to settle my nerves and rest up the legs. Aiming for sub 83 minutes but we will see what happens! Fingers crossed!
Scrap the time! You're first one is about the experience. You will have many more! Plan a strategy for the race, but don't beat yourself up during the race. Enjoy each step! Btw... early congrats... You finish and it's a PR!!! Go get it!!!
QD: my peak race for 2021 is tomorrow (Sunday Oct. 10th) the Boilermaker 15k road race here in Utica NY. Starting in the sub elite corral so a bit nervous about that, but LETS GO LETS GO LETS GOOOOO!!!!!!!
You got this! I know what you mean about front corrals!!! I always get into corral one behind the Elites in the Bellin 10K in GB Wisconsin. Think of it as an honor! Now, GO GET IT and HAVE FUN!!!!
@@runningmama4793 Went out to fast (was too excited to be towing the line with so many good runners)and paid the price later in the race when I blew up lol……I was just happy to be there for some live racing with the thousands of other runners🤘🏻
Catching up on vlogs as was travelling to Bromont, QC this past week end for my first 50 miler! Was a great race, a lot of vertical (3500 m), very well organized. Ended up completing in just over 12hrs. That was a doozy as Seth would say!!
: Not racing today, in the middle of training block for NYC Marathon (Virtual) driving to meet up with some friends to run a 50K trail ultra route today, 2,000M of vertical, should be a beastly good time.
QD: Long Beach Half Marathon tomorrow (Sunday) - first race since coming back from injury earlier this year. Excited to cross that finish line! Good luck and have fun to all those racing this weekend.
QD : Racing the Half Marathon in Eindhoven 2 hours from now!! My boys ran the Mile (6 and 8 years old) and my youngest daughter ran the 5K! A family running weekend!! Proud of them! Now I hope I do well....
You're sure not out of ideas for videos but I would ove to learn about how you deal with nutrition pre during and post training/race. Gels, salts, when do you taken them, how often..I feel it is such an important part of performance and yet it seems difficult to find objective content on the topic..would love to hear your thoughts and experience! Keep inspiring us!
QD. Running my first half marathon race! Royal Victoria in BC, Canada! Been training all year and am ready to go! Going for a PR sub 1:30. Thanks for the great training insights and motivation!
QD: Going to run my first marathon on Sunday in Essen, Germany. Very excited! First time for me to go the full distance with my full effort. Until 2 weeks back I didn’t even knew whether it was going to take place or not (because of Covid). Let‘s see how it goes 😂
No racing yet, still recovering from a knee injury and rebuilding my form, hoping to be ready for trail series that starts in 2 weeks. Then it is racing every 2nd Sunday until December! 💯
I'd really like a vlog just on CF plate stiffness. I've been doing my Thursday Tempo runs for Naples around my goal pace 5:55-6 in the Endorphin Pro V1 and even at that pace the plate doesn't even seem to bend. Had a lot less rigidity in the Nike OG 4% and the Fly Flyknits (great shoe). I know you cover plates in the Matrix, but I'd love to see a Vlog just on ranking the Super Shoes plate bendy-ness.
I have the vapor flys 2 and endorphin pro 1, and I agree the endorphin pro is stiffer. I'm a bit bigger at 80kg and I feel like the endorphin pros give me quite a bit more energy return than the vapor flys. I also have a longer stride with a lower cadence ~173-175 so I definitely prefer the stiffer plate
@@dallinsiddoway5119 thanks for the info. That's my concern, I'm only about 135, so it's like the plate doesn't bend and I get little compression from the Powerrun PB pellets. I'm not saying I don't like the shoes. I think the Speeds nylon plate just isn't springy either
QD: Silverstone Half Marathon 🇬🇧 this weekend, aiming for a PR if the legs hold up after last weekends Chester Marathon, with the GoPro ofcourse let's see ! And a great video Seth as always ! Wish me much DGR

Just got back from an 8k race at Penn State with Club Running at Pitt. Turns out, you can’t expect to race well when you’ve been knocked out sick for a week and then ran short for 3 days before the race. 😅🤣 Still beat Penn State though so who’s really losing…
