What a wonderful refreshing entertainer. His self awareness is so attractive. His integrity is so solid. What a delicious experience. A concert to be mimiced. A great entertainer. Webb Wilder and his band the BeatNecks. I loved him before I knew him. DGiba; Westmont IL. 5/15/2023
That blonde Mesa Mark IIb amp on the left side of the stage, I bought from Webb via consignment at Corner Music in Nashville. I used it for several years, then sold it to a friend of mine. That was great amp. STOOPID loud, it was the 60/100 watt version and had an EV speaker in it, if it wasn't enough that it was 100 watts....
This was always my fav. Webb Lineup.....cant go wrong with the Twangler on Guitar....love lesters drums doesn't miss a beat....And the man himself Webb!! saw him 6 times always a good show
I'm so glad this concert is posted! Webb with this lineup used to play regularly here in Lexington, KY. I was a fan back then in the 80's and am Still a Fan! "It Came From Nashville" is one of those 'desert island' records that should be in everyone's collection.
Great to see this posted. This is the line up that I was introduced to Webb with and is still my favorite. Donny just killed on guitar. Loved this band from the first time I saw them. Great to have some of Webb's raps on record too.
I owned this actual Mesa Boogie Mark II amp that he is using in this show... he had it on consignment at Corner Music in Nashville, and I bought it from him there. 100 watts with an ElectroVoice speaker in it... it would get INSANELY loud.
So many fun nights at The 8x10 with these guys. I have this show on VHS somewhere too. Thanks for posting it here! Webb posted the link on his FB wall too.
me too guys! & the 930 club, I once autographed & gave my riding helmet away to a member of Steve Earle s band after a show at the 8x10 lol . and I took it out from the trunk of my 73 baby blue duster!!
I recorded this off of PBS in 1989 and enjoyed it for years. I spilled a Diet Coke in the VHS tape and that was that. Thanks for posting! If you know where I can get a high resolution version, let me know.
The correct title is Revenooer Man. George Jones recorded the original version, and several bands have covered it. The Beat Farmers have a particularly raucous version in record.

I finally get Webb Wilder after all these years..

Probably
Webb is a seriously righteous dude.

As a Nashville teen in the 80s I saw these guys all the time at 12th & Porter. Great band, great times.
man, I bet, I used to go see him at the 930 club in DC in the 80's & 90's once the kids came, well, not so many shows...
Love the Twangler!
Band was: @ 55:15
Webb Wilder- vocals, guitar
Donny Roberts- Guitar
Dennis Blakley- Bass
Jimmy Lester - Drums
Yes indeed it is the Twangler!
He is the one who caught my attention first. I still would like to think he is just waiting to rejoin...damn

Yep, the "swampadelic" sound definitely lost a little something without Donny "the Twangler" Roberts.
Jimmy's one of the best drummers in the biz.
great music,
This TV episode was my introduction to this band. At first, "Who is this guy called the Twangler? Damn!" Glad to see this again.
Man, the Beatnecks are rocking on this one! Thanks for sharing!

Great to see this, thank you for posting. Very interesting to hear the early version of Hoodoo Witch.
i caught these guys when they hit THE CAT CLUB in NYC in '88, and they hit it hard! It goes down in my head as in the top ten sets i ever enjoyed...
Great to see this posted. This is the same line up as my first Webb show. Still listen to him weekly!
Love it!!! Thanks so much for posting this (have never before seen it).
sing it webb
Oh Yeah, Let's pay tribute to Mark Twain in this historical record.
Mississippi Moderne reference in the soliloquy starting around 41:00. That long predates the album!

gregorysguitars I was lucky enough to catch them at the 8x10 a few times as well and they were always kick-a**! Such a great live band....

Damn this band was good. Still is, but Donnie (The Twangler) Roberts on guitar was just the cherry on top, man. He is bad ass.
Big ups for The Twangler!
I have this on DVD......but you knew that!
Kdrew, what is the name of the DVD that this is on?
Mark Roberts
My own.......
Those were the days, folks....With a demolishing Donnie taking no prisoners...Gooseflesh all the way.
last of the full grown men...

+yann bojon Right on. :-)
@39:30, we's gettin' the evil eye from Webb's bandana in his pocket.
Haha. Nice!
Cletus!
the keys of R flat and D molished
First song is Revenue Man not Rebel New Man.
"Revenooer Man," actually. A cover of the George Jones original.
No sound ???
the sound is rotten!
yea, it is, & still worth a listen!
Which album is this from cos I haven't got it ? Please- Revenue Man?
only in concert, not on an album
wow good thing they recorded it when they did.
There is a brand new Webb Wilder album called Powerful Stuff. It is all outtakes from back in this era.
Original studio workups, great album!
