the problem with Russell is not how he plays its how he treats people. Rob plays cut throat, got to the end twice like Russell, won once and lost by one vote on the other. Then you have Tony, plays cut throat like Russell, played 3 times and won twice. Russells strategy and implementation could win him the game, but no one wants to give him the money because he is cocky and rubs sault in peoples wounds something that rob dint do in the season he won and something tony never did. Tony plays like Russell the difference is he is likable
Rob had great cards to start with, and Russel had none. However, the way Rob played his was FLAWLESS. Thats not easy to do. Rob deserved the win, and in my opinion the title of "best player to play Survivor"

A good excercise is just after every tribal council where a member of the jury is voted out trying to put yourself in their shoes and see which are their pick for a winner, this is curious because somehow when Sandra and Tony win the second time they mirror the first time they win
What season did you watch for Rob kick his ass? Head-to-head Russell always win. Rob would have lost if Russell‘s tribe did not throw the challenge. If Rob was on Russell’s tribe and Russell was on robs tribe Russell would’ve won that season.

I'm not sure.I do know that they are on separate teams just like they did on season 11. It will be interesting because season 21 was kind of dull and boring but also interesting as well. Hopefully these people can make the show more interesting and with Russell and Rob back it will definitely get on to a good start, but yeah I would definitely like to see them voted off before the merge though to give the new generation of Survivors a chance to make multiple appearances on future seasons.
Rob is the small man. Why would you not shake the hand of the guy that beat you in the game fair and square. Rob only shook russel's hand when he came out on top, a weak individual .
Strategy wise, his game was brilliant and fascinating to watch. However, as someone mentioned at final tribal council (I think if I'm not mistaken it was JT), getting to final tribal is only half the game. As much of a strategic player he is, he does not grasp the idea that he is supposed to try to win the people he blindsided and voted out on his side during the final tribal council.
Season 22 wasn't Rob vs Russell they weren't on the same tribe to begin with and if a tribe is prepared to destroy itself "to take Russell out" than not much you can do.
Well if you think about Rob has won a bunch of times. First with Amber, then he won it a year after this season and now he has 4 beautiful daughters, so define win.

On the other hand, Russell was one of the final 2 in his first season. That says a lot. Russell's problem is that he's a very agressive player.

If they did he JT never would have given him the idol and Jerri and coach never would have sided with him, also Tyson wouldnt have been so stupid by not splitting the votes. Russel is great and in season 19 he played in my opinion one of the best seasons ever(behind Rob on all stars), But he dosnt have the charisma or charm like Rob to win over people who have seen him play before.
Rob is a good player. And he is better than Russell. But even if Russell is not a winner I still think he is a good player. I would rather watch Russell than watch rob but both of them are legends
@ben1ben2ben1 I just watched season 19 again recently. Russell ran that place from day 1. At the merge it was 4 to 9 (or something like that) and Russ orchestrated the greatest comeback game of all time, until it was 3 to 1. Then he one the last challenge. He surley doesnt make any friends but he played the game so hard it was amazing. Like he said, it should be called "The Social Game". Who knows what he would have done if he didnt get ejected so quickly?
If u really watch that season closly. It was nataly that broke the other tribe. I agree that russle had an amazing season. But the biggest singale move that season belong to nataly when it was 8 to 4. She convensed the other tribe to vote out one of thier own allowing the cascade. Smilar to hvv biggest move of the season belonged to tyson. There are always many moves in a season but mostly there is 1 defining move that u can point to that changes the corse of the game.

He didnt play the ussual way of making everybody like him, he played to make people respect him, and realize that they could get further with him than in a diffeent alliance. Unfortunatly, the jury didnt care much about (in my opinion) his superior gameplay.

Russell is the most overated player ever. He had the huge advantage of no one seeing him play before when he was on heroes vs villains. Tyson would have never changed his vote and JT would have never gave him the immunity idol. He would have been gone very early just like in redemption island if not for the players watching him before. His social game is bad and he can never adapt. He would never win survivor..

@clbaumer Well im a big Rob fan so i love watching him play. But he is playing so good right now that everything up until final 6 is very predictable. So ya its a little boring knowing who is going every week. Once Julie, Ralf and steve are gone it should get good though (but its still 3 predictable weeks away), we will get to see Rob possibly blindside someone with the idol, the Redemption island returnee, and robs group turning on each other.

@clbaumer Well im a big Rob fan so i love watching him play. But he is playing so good right now that everything up until final 6 is very predictable. So ya its a little boring knowing who is going every week.
Once Julie, Ralf and steve are gone it should get good though (but its still 3 predictable weeks away), we will get to see Rob possibly blindside someone with the idol, the Redemption island returnee, and robs group turning on each other.

@HawkmanDude well the fact that rob was never down 4 to 8 tells us he had indeed played a better game, right from the very beginning. maybe the reason russ was down 4 to 8 was because he sucked and he couldnt lead his tribe to victory like rob. in my opinion rob is a better leader than russ, russ is just very could at lying and decieving, not a great formula to win the game.
they almost have the same rivalry like rafeal nadal against roger federer, only more villainous.

I disagree, RI was great because redemption island blew back into Jeffs face when the the guy who was there almost the entire game came back and won the entire freakin game.
Sorry I know this was 5 years ago but I have to ask what you're talking about, that never happened and no other event that could be mistaken for that has ever happened in any version of Survivor, I literally am at such a loss I have zero clue where your head was at

@ben1ben2ben1 Yes I do agree. Once people knew how he ran his game they got rid of him quickly. But isnt this season kind of boring now? Its not a lot of fun to watch when we already know exactly whats going to happen at council. The switchup and idol play with Tyson in s20 was pretty epic. That was agreat moment in Survivor history,

Russell IS the best survivor player.Hell, the teams who make survivor changed the games layour and rules because of him.Rob has done nothing that other survivors havnt.He just a guy who is a good team player, that is all.Russel on the other hand found so many immunity idols during his seasons without any clues.Not to mention hes never had numbers(unlike rob) yet still manages to triumph.Hell, he beat rob with only 3 people(including himself).Rob has nothing on Russell
