Mavs had a good run but the Celtics looked like a bad matchup all season long. When the Dallas role players don’t have exceptional games there was never a chance for them. Sweep is tough but they should keep their head up. They defeated the entire western conference competitors.
I've been singing Luka's praises about his defensive improvement all season and through most of the playoffs. But his defense and overall effort in this series is unacceptable and indefensible. He was the weak link that caused everything to fall apart. I know he's injured and I know he carries an enormous load on offense, but this is the Finals. Game 3 was completely balanced (runs on both sides) until the refs decided to call every little contact by Luka (the last foul was correct, some of the previous one's were not) which ended up deciding the game. The series without KP would be/ will be a very competitive series. Dallas just has no answer for KP.

What most people don’t understand is that essentially 2-4 guys counting lively and gafford took them this far... if Dallas had even 1 more decent bench player they’d be up. Hopefully they make the right moves in the off-season.
No they wouldn’t the celtics didn’t have KP this game and Kyrie played amazing yet the celtics still murdered them, they’re just the far better team it’s as simple as that. Luka didn’t show up hard enough when the lights were the brightest and that’s all there is to it.
@@denzel8827 don't think I've seen a worse assessment of this series so far than yours congrats. Here's the skinny: Celtics with KP murdered the Mavs in game 1 and 2 and were the far superior team. Game 3 was completely balanced (runs on both sides) until the refs decided to call every little contact by Luka (the last foul was correct, some of the previous one's were not) which ended up deciding the game. The series without KP would be/ will be a very competitive series. Dallas just has no answer for KP.

Stop making excuses for luka, he played subpar in game 1, and he played godawful this game, yet all the blame gets shifted towards his teammates just because he had one good game. Before these finals, everyone thought they had the best team, and they had the best record post trade deadline. The celtics without KP were winning this regardless, Luka had kyrie helping carry the offensive load this game yet he STILL showed no energy on the defensive end and got frustrated resulting in constant bad fouls from him because there was no other way he could affect the game on that side of the floor. Then he proceeds to complain constantly and show 0 leadership. Jayson Tatum played awful for the first 2 games of this series and they didn’t have KP this game yet they still got outmatched. The only reason it even got close was because tatum burnt out like usual because he’s wildly inconsistent, but so did Luka in quite literally the biggest quarter of his life. He took off every defensive play and made it so that even when his team was shooting and defending well, tatum or anyone else could just abuse his lack of effort to start a collapse on defense and either get a free drive from tatum or brown or a easy go ahead bucket from deep. And don’t say he’s “injured” either, because it’s not effecting his gameplay at all, he’s always been this way. Luka didn’t show up, it’s as simple as that.
