So, this might be a long post because it’s just a summary of Yoon’s life journey as you saw snippets of it in “IYAH”. He definitely DID NOT have an easy life because his father left when he was super young. His amazingly strong and intelligent mother raised him and he was the only son. She worked multiple jobs to provide for Yoon and he often left alone or have to stay with family after school. When he was in middle school he became friends with NOT SO GOOD KIDS aka the wrong group of friends. Eventually, they betrayed him and he really built up a wall so he wouldn’t get hurt again. After that he didn’t want to go to school anymore. However, he saw how hard his mom was working, how stressed, and at times saw or heard her cry because of all the bills. He decided to go back to school, but this time at the performing arts school. He met people who had the same interests in music/guitar like him and slowly let down his walls. He would sing at little events or performances for his school, but never really thought of auditioning for singing competition shows or record companies. One day his friend asked to accompany him to an audition for SUPERSTARK Season 2. He also tried to convince him to audition as well, Yoon refused at first… but well he ended up auditioning and passed it. His journey in SSK2 wasn’t the best though because at that time the panels/mentors/judges/producers felt that Yoon was not ready and should train/take more lessons. But there were others who felt that he had potential, so there was this mixed feelings about him. There was also rumors that said that Yoon seemed like a conceited or even cocky for his age. But it was proven not true obviously he gained more and more fans as the show went on. Yoon did mentioned that those rumors did hurt him because he was only 16/17 years old at that time. It was true he was not as experienced compared to other contestants. He had to be confident and tried his best with the commission/challenges on that show. So he may have seem unbothered or overconfident, but he really was just trying to find what makes himself stand out. But hey! He overcome that and made the top 4 and as you saw him deliver an epic performance with the song that just skyrocketed his popularity. “INSTINCTIVELY” is a song that will follow Yoon wherever he goes. He still sings that song in concerts and as someone said, it’s a great wedding song. He is a part-time wedding singer! 😂 So he’s fresh out of SSK2 2010 and he really became the newest fresh face along with other contestants of that show. They did commercials and funnily enough alongside OG YG FAMILY AKA YG ARTISTS. So Yoon had already met Big Bang, 2NE1, GUMMY, PSY, SE7EN, and etc. Yoon became endorser for multiple products like FANTA, LG tablet, clothing brands, gaming brands, and etc even landing magazine photo shoots at 16/17!! By the end of year during awards season..Yoon ended up winning best new artist aka rookie of the year for “INSTINCTIVELY”. YES… HE WON ROOKIE OF THE YEAR without being signed to a record label/company.. without really fully debuting as a soloist. Just for a song he covered on a singing competition.. INSANEEEE! 2011 rolls around and Yoon has been getting so many love calls from many record labels promising him instant fame/success. However, YGE CEO had such a unique and different offer that piqued Yoon’s interest. YGE CEO said that Yoon would start as a trainee (literally start from the bottom). Yoon really liked the idea of honing and building on his composing skills and he wanted to experiment with singing/composing different music genres. He really liked the whole developing your talent and he’s the type of person who always loves to improve as an artist. He doesn’t want to be put into one box or one genre, even though his bread and butter is ROCK ballad/rock pop. He is more than that and with that mindset he chose to sign with YGE. Which shocked a lot of people and music industry because Yoon is not the type of artist that would sign with YGE.. again his image was the tall, lanky, teenager who loves his guitar and has this deep husky voice. YGE was known for being a hip-hop influenced and in your face kind of company and artists. During this time Yoon not only was working on himself as an artist, he also started to do acting and was casted as a supporting character in HIGH KICK 3. This cast had a lot of veteran actors and familiar faces in the idol world like former f(x) member KRYSTAL and a young and rising actor LEE JONG SUK. There was cameos by other idols as well as popular actors/actresses too. It was a family sitcom and Yoon really did well as the quirky and weird friend of LEE JONG SUK. During this time he also was training with a team in YGE and they were called Team A, but through this year a lot of trainees either got dropped, left, or switched interests in YGE from idols to YGE dancers or producers/behind the scenes. Yoon met with Jinwoo (who was a trainee since 2010 and was discovered by BIG BANG’s Seungri when he saw Jinwoo at his dance academy) as well as Taehyun (the original maknae/main vocalist/part of composer line of WINNER) who auditioned and signed with YGE in 2011. 2012 comes by and Yoon just finished HIGH KICK 3 and still a YGE trainee. A lot of people are wondering if Yoon will have a solo debut or if he’s going to debut in a group. This is the year the both Hoony and Mino entered in YGE as trainees. Hoony was discovered in KPOPSTAR Season 1 and signed with YGE after his top 4 exit in that show. Isn’t it funny how Hoony also made it to top4 like Yoon did in SSK2? FATE NUMBER 4 has always followed WINNER before they even met and debuted. LOL! For Mino, the YGE audition was his last chance to make it in the industry. But of course with his insane rapping abilities, genius composing, and hard to decipher lyrics and wordplay. There was no way in hell YGE would not sign him right away. He’s just TOO GOOD!!! The new Team A is formed with Jinwoo, Yoon, Taehyun, Hoony, and Mino. 2013 YGE CEO announces that he will have another survival show called YG WIN: WHO IS NEXT. It has been 8 years since YGE debuted a new boy group…it was only BIG BANG at that time and 2NE1 who also made a name for YGE and paved the way not only for their label mates for other idols or those who dreamt in becoming idols. Anyways, there was a group of YGE male trainees that were the best of the best. YGE CEO called them Team A (WINNER) and Team B (IKON), they basically had battles against each other and one who won by the fan vote aka general public will become the WINNER and will get to debut. At the same time this was filming, YGE CEO also announced that Yoon will have his solo debut and supposed album. Yoon released 3 songs, the first title track and official solo debut song is “IT RAINS” and the song topped all 9 music charts! Yes there was 9 music charts back then and Yoon got #1!! The song does not have a MV though, but it’s such a great sentimental song. Then they gave us a bit of rocker playful Yoon in “WILD AND YOUNG” and there’s a MV for it. This is the song that he promoted on music shows for his solo debut. They also released balladeer boyfriend Yoon with the song and MV “STEALER”. So he already be giving us different sides of himself and his vocal prowess since 2013!! Unfortunately, Yoon decided to prioritize Team A and competing in WIN over his solo activities. He also became leader and he really had to focus and steer the team on the right direction. That switch in leader really made a difference because they started finding out what their sound and uniqueness aka COLOR/IDENTITY as WINNER or at that time Team A. I mean no offense to me Mino who originally appointed the leader during the early stages of WIN. But even though he also has some leader qualities, for the most part he really is such a BRIGHT and soft person. Mino actually was grateful that Yoon became the leader because it is such a huge responsibility. He couldn’t really handle all of that and it literally gave him a dark cloud over his head. He doesn’t like that feeling and like I said..he is such a BRIGHT person. Yoon has such a positive and strong mindset and perspective. He’s good at observing and talking to people, even though he has his cute maknae moments. It is true he is very WISE for his age and is such an eloquent speaker. So with Yoon as the new leader, Team A overcame their hardships throughout the show and became WINNER. The rest became HISTORY!!! Yoon may not seem to have the “LEADER” aura as some would say, but again.. his demeanor and he naturally just LEADS the other members shows A LOT. Of course the members also tease and give him a hard time because he’s also maknae. But when it comes to work/behind the scenes, they listen to Yoon well and they respect him. He is very hard working, UNSELFISH, and such a WORKAHOLIC..and not in the healthy way too So ICs always try to tell him that he needs to slow down and just live in the present. It’s understandable that he’s always thinking about the future and what they should do next or for him as a soloist. But you know ENJOY THE MOMENT MORE. Also, he is NOT alone.. he shouldn’t be burden in shouldering so much..the members tell him he could rely on them to help carry the load when it becomes too much. I think the reason why WINNER is so bright and at times youthful is because Yoon and like I said his mindset/leadership. He is not the type to overpower the other members, he subtly guides them, listens to them, gives them advice/constructive criticisms, and vice versa. THIS IS WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT WINNER! THEY ARE FAMILY! BROTHERS FOR LIFE! ICs have a saying… NOBODY LOVES WINNER THE WAY WINNER LOVES EACH OTHER. Even though they tease each other A LOT, there’s so much love and respect. 😭
Thank you for reacting to Yoon. There are a lot of singers out there, but there is only Yoon, a storyteller who connects to your emotions and give you goosebumps when he sings. I agree with you 100% that he knows how to control his voice... He is a genius composer, lyricist, arranger, and producer.
I finally found a reactor whom i can relate to. 🤣 Yoon was the one who lured me into WINNER HOLE. I never cared about kpop before him. I thought kpop was nothing but a pretty face. But Yoon proved me wrong, now I am happily enjoying here. I don't even listen to other artists anymore. It's not exaggeration to say that WINNER is my favorite group, and YOON is my favorite artist, the best singer for me. I feel very deeply connected to him. Thank you for this Sis. Air, we were, for, have a good day, movie star, raining, and mino solo, turn off the lights, are especially my fav cause I love Winner chill and moody vibe. Most song are produced by yoon, except for 3 that are made by mino and hoon. Yoon also made all the lyrics except for the rap parts, so you should also see the lyrics translation as you listen.
About the song 'Born to love you', as I remember, this is the 1st time he ever sang a title song that not composed by himself. And about his American accent, because we as inter-fan can't understand most of things they say at their concert so Yoon tried his best to learn English to communicate with us easier ❤

YESS!! YOON IS MY FAVORITE SINGER!! I know a lot of good-voiced, high-voiced male kpop idols, but Yoon is different! not typical idol group vocals, and I think His voice sounds very expensive.. and His voice always touches my heart.. I really fallin love with his voice! Like Im in another world!
About the Instinctively, when the original singer released it, it wasnt popular. Yoon made it a hit. If i am not mistaken the royalty made the original singer be able to buy a house. Yoon often sing this in weddings. He is quite a wedding singer too 😂
Thank you so much for this!! I found him during my lowest moment after a health problem right during covid lockdown. The isolation was soo heavy but then I come across him singing in KOMS. All I can remember is crying. And then healing as I couldnt get stop listening to his voice. He is truly one of a kind and he is really a good kid too. P.S. we found out today he bought his mum a new car and he himself have been driving his mom's old car around. With the royalties he is receiving, he could be showing off a car collection but he truly remain so grounded. Amazing character.

i’m gonna keep mentioning this. i went to winner’s concert and i got goosebumps during yoon’s solo. i’m so amazed that his voice is so similar to the recorded version and even better live. its like listening to taeyang from big bang. their live is sooooo much better than studio version. wish i can witness daesung’s live to get the same experience 🥺

Yoon is the one who brought me to TeamA (WINNER). I used to be YG stan and blackjack before Inner Circle, so I always anticipated every new YG artist debut. Around 2013 I heard KSY would make a debut but dunno anything about him. Yet I was blown away when I first listen to his debut song then saw his face and age. Like How could that voice coming out from 19yo boy.. I thought he was older than me, maybe 25-30yo bcs his voice is so mature and manly... In WIN : Who Is Next, the first half of the show I haven't decide who i support to WIN but I always having an eye for him bcs his solo project and BI bcs YG said his the next genius, but Team A (Winner) slowly grown in me because their personality, maturity and talent. Beside i feel like they hadn't found their balance and style yet as a group. After they change the leader position from Mino to Yoon and perform KSY's song . I decide to fully support them and become their fans till now
Yoon’s range is mind blowing. He’s recently been dubbed a dolphin fir reaching crazy high notes in front of Sumi Jo, a legendary Korean soprano. But as you said, he doesn’t feel the need to go hard or to show off his vocal prowess all the time. He really pays attention to the feelings involved with each song. One more thing to note, after Yoon found fame after singing Instinctively sooooo many labels wanted to sign him promising a lot of money and success. He said no to them and ultimately signed with the agency he’s in now cause he knew he had much more to learn and he wanted to train some more. From that alone you know he’s in this career not just for the fame and money, but for the music. TLDR he’s the best 🥹

BORN TO LOVE YOU is the first solo song Yoon didn't produce and compose. It was done by his YG little brother/junior/labelmate TREASURE's Yedam. It was given to Yoon as a thank you gift because Yoon produce and composed Yedam's solo debut song WAYO.

I really enjoyed watching you react to Yoon. You understood his vocals so well, like you connected with his voice, the way he portrays emotions when he sings and the different layers and aspects to his vocal range, you dissected and carefully observed and studied and grasped every little detail his vocals carries and as his fan this makes me immensely happy watching someone else appreciating his vocals like how I do, your comments in between were so relatable because I feel you 😂 This man makes you wanna cry makes you wanna pull out your hair in frustration because he is just too good but his voice also soothes you, it comforts you and heals your soul. According to me Kang Seungyoon is the best male vocalist in the South Korea, yes technically speaking he isn't perfect he has his short comings but no one, i repeat no one will make you feel, the way he makes you feel the emotions of the song when he sings and that is a mark of legendary singer for me. Coming to his English pronunciation, yes he is pretty good in English, like back in 2018 WINNER did their first world tour and Yoon wanted to communicate with overseas fans well so he learnt English, he went to classes and all, he even corrected his accent during that time, he understands English well and during fansign events and all he communicates very well in English with international fans that's why his english enunciation is so good and you were correct about him understanding each and every word when he sings. Also please react to his first solo album which came out last year it's called PAGE, he wrote and composed all of the songs in that album and it's a masterpiece you have to do a album reaction to it, please i really insist. You’re so right, he gives you everything, he gives you the powerful, the vulnerable, the controlled, the raw, the soft, the pure, the emotion, the soul, the heart wrenching, the sweet. Sometimes all in one song. There are other talented and gifted singers but just nobody else that has such an interesting, unique and satisfying voice.

I think he also got to sing “BLUE WHALE” With the original band/singer too. Yoon was living his best life getting sing with legendary musicians/singers of SKOREA. So the performance that you are missing from that KOMS compilation was “SHORT HAIR”, “WHO ARE YOU”, “BOUNCE”, “BLUE WHALE”, and “LONELY NIGHT”.

The first song Yoon sang is actually by a legendy singer in Korea called Lee Juck and I'm leaving a suggestion here that you check him out, I think he has the exact type of voice you love! that lower deep husk but powerful too. I recommend "Lie, Lie, Lie" (that Yoon did), It's Fortunate and Don't Worry!! just make sure you watch the live stages he's unreal.

Oh yes! We want to see Yoon's face while singing in Mask Singer but as a long time Inseo and watching hundreds of clips of Yoon, I can confidently say that I can imagine how he looks under that mask while singing. Yoon delivers every emotion, may it be seen or not. That voice resonates through every race, language, etc. I still believe that the 4 of them belong together. Very skilled at their roles because they worked REALLY hard for it. YG can be a crappy company but I am happy that they let Yoon do his solo. (And we quickly knew it was Yoon even at that first note haha!)
Yeah ICs instantly knew it was Yoon behind the mask..it wasn’t just his voice, but also his mannerisms on stage. LOL! That gave it away BIG TIME!! Yoon even said he tried to restrain himself for doing any kind of movement because ppl will figure out it was him. BUT it was so hard for him to do that because he did do some well known YOON mannerisms in some of the performances. Like his little kick and bend down when he sings the climax of a song and even the way he holds his microphone. Yes… ICs saw all of that in his round 1 battle and it was validated in the round 3 performance when he became KING with that little kick hahaha. We were like OH YEAH.. it’s definitely Yoon.. the vocals and now the little mannerisms screams YOON. 😂😂
I also want to add on, that A LOT of the songs Yoon performed on KOMS were songs he deeply related to and if you noticed the song titles..it’s a lot of family or lost love or feeling stuck/lost. There were songs that related to how he felt about WINNER and others that he felt about his broken relationship with his father who passed away a couple years ago. So that yearning and heartbreak was coming from his personal experience. I recommend that you react to his live performance of “365” in the same channel that he performed “IYAH” with the live band. That song is dedicated to his late father and you should read the lyrics…UGHH HITS YOUR HEART! I personally relate to it because I lost touch with my father years ago when I was still in high school. 😩

Your minds just like what I thought about KangSeungYoon for a long time ago. I’m following him since his young age and he’s the first reason for me to stay longer in KPop after various skeptics I have about KPop singer who are most of them singing only on one dimension and looks like getting forced to sing but so serious when have to dance. For International listener like me, obviously KangSeungYoon’s voice is such a thing that I’m getting used to hear, including his pronunciation and accent. Also his singing is so singing. I means I listen to a lot of idol singers but mostly aren’t singing. They’re sounds like just performing the songs, not the essentials. And imho not much we can found an idol singer like him from a bunch of them these days. Btw, I like every youtuber who did a reaction but also gives the reason, like it or not and why didn’t like it or what aspects that makes you feels that you love it or just enjoy it or even maybe makes you wanna to rooting for their career. So, this might be a long post because it’s just a summary of Yoon’s life journey as you saw snippets of it in “IYAH”.
He definitely DID NOT have an easy life because his father left when he was super young. His amazingly strong and intelligent mother raised him and he was the only son. She worked multiple jobs to provide for Yoon and he often left alone or have to stay with family after school. When he was in middle school he became friends with NOT SO GOOD KIDS aka the wrong group of friends. Eventually, they betrayed him and he really built up a wall so he wouldn’t get hurt again. After that he didn’t want to go to school anymore. However, he saw how hard his mom was working, how stressed, and at times saw or heard her cry because of all the bills. He decided to go back to school, but this time at the performing arts school. He met people who had the same interests in music/guitar like him and slowly let down his walls. He would sing at little events or performances for his school, but never really thought of auditioning for singing competition shows or record companies. One day his friend asked to accompany him to an audition for SUPERSTARK Season 2. He also tried to convince him to audition as well, Yoon refused at first… but well he ended up auditioning and passed it. His journey in SSK2 wasn’t the best though because at that time the panels/mentors/judges/producers felt that Yoon was not ready and should train/take more lessons. But there were others who felt that he had potential, so there was this mixed feelings about him. There was also rumors that said that Yoon seemed like a conceited or even cocky for his age. But it was proven not true obviously he gained more and more fans as the show went on. Yoon did mentioned that those rumors did hurt him because he was only 16/17 years old at that time. It was true he was not as experienced compared to other contestants. He had to be confident and tried his best with the commission/challenges on that show. So he may have seem unbothered or overconfident, but he really was just trying to find what makes himself stand out. But hey! He overcome that and made the top 4 and as you saw him deliver an epic performance with the song that just skyrocketed his popularity. “INSTINCTIVELY” is a song that will follow Yoon wherever he goes. He still sings that song in concerts and as someone said, it’s a great wedding song. He is a part-time wedding singer! 😂
So he’s fresh out of SSK2 2010 and he really became the newest fresh face along with other contestants of that show. They did commercials and funnily enough alongside OG YG FAMILY AKA YG ARTISTS. So Yoon had already met Big Bang, 2NE1, GUMMY, PSY, SE7EN, and etc. Yoon became endorser for multiple products like FANTA, LG tablet, clothing brands, gaming brands, and etc even landing magazine photo shoots at 16/17!! By the end of year during awards season..Yoon ended up winning best new artist aka rookie of the year for “INSTINCTIVELY”. YES… HE WON ROOKIE OF THE YEAR without being signed to a record label/company.. without really fully debuting as a soloist. Just for a song he covered on a singing competition.. INSANEEEE!
2011 rolls around and Yoon has been getting so many love calls from many record labels promising him instant fame/success. However, YGE CEO had such a unique and different offer that piqued Yoon’s interest. YGE CEO said that Yoon would start as a trainee (literally start from the bottom). Yoon really liked the idea of honing and building on his composing skills and he wanted to experiment with singing/composing different music genres. He really liked the whole developing your talent and he’s the type of person who always loves to improve as an artist. He doesn’t want to be put into one box or one genre, even though his bread and butter is ROCK ballad/rock pop. He is more than that and with that mindset he chose to sign with YGE. Which shocked a lot of people and music industry because Yoon is not the type of artist that would sign with YGE.. again his image was the tall, lanky, teenager who loves his guitar and has this deep husky voice. YGE was known for being a hip-hop influenced and in your face kind of company and artists. During this time Yoon not only was working on himself as an artist, he also started to do acting and was casted as a supporting character in HIGH KICK 3. This cast had a lot of veteran actors and familiar faces in the idol world like former f(x) member KRYSTAL and a young and rising actor LEE JONG SUK. There was cameos by other idols as well as popular actors/actresses too. It was a family sitcom and Yoon really did well as the quirky and weird friend of LEE JONG SUK. During this time he also was training with a team in YGE and they were called Team A, but through this year a lot of trainees either got dropped, left, or switched interests in YGE from idols to YGE dancers or producers/behind the scenes. Yoon met with Jinwoo (who was a trainee since 2010 and was discovered by BIG BANG’s Seungri when he saw Jinwoo at his dance academy) as well as Taehyun (the original maknae/main vocalist/part of composer line of WINNER) who auditioned and signed with YGE in 2011.
2012 comes by and Yoon just finished HIGH KICK 3 and still a YGE trainee. A lot of people are wondering if Yoon will have a solo debut or if he’s going to debut in a group. This is the year the both Hoony and Mino entered in YGE as trainees. Hoony was discovered in KPOPSTAR Season 1 and signed with YGE after his top 4 exit in that show. Isn’t it funny how Hoony also made it to top4 like Yoon did in SSK2? FATE NUMBER 4 has always followed WINNER before they even met and debuted. LOL! For Mino, the YGE audition was his last chance to make it in the industry. But of course with his insane rapping abilities, genius composing, and hard to decipher lyrics and wordplay. There was no way in hell YGE would not sign him right away. He’s just TOO GOOD!!! The new Team A is formed with Jinwoo, Yoon, Taehyun, Hoony, and Mino.
2013 YGE CEO announces that he will have another survival show called YG WIN: WHO IS NEXT. It has been 8 years since YGE debuted a new boy group…it was only BIG BANG at that time and 2NE1 who also made a name for YGE and paved the way not only for their label mates for other idols or those who dreamt in becoming idols. Anyways, there was a group of YGE male trainees that were the best of the best. YGE CEO called them Team A (WINNER) and Team B (IKON), they basically had battles against each other and one who won by the fan vote aka general public will become the WINNER and will get to debut. At the same time this was filming, YGE CEO also announced that Yoon will have his solo debut and supposed album. Yoon released 3 songs, the first title track and official solo debut song is “IT RAINS” and the song topped all 9 music charts! Yes there was 9 music charts back then and Yoon got #1!! The song does not have a MV though, but it’s such a great sentimental song. Then they gave us a bit of rocker playful Yoon in “WILD AND YOUNG” and there’s a MV for it. This is the song that he promoted on music shows for his solo debut. They also released balladeer boyfriend Yoon with the song and MV “STEALER”. So he already be giving us different sides of himself and his vocal prowess since 2013!! Unfortunately, Yoon decided to prioritize Team A and competing in WIN over his solo activities. He also became leader and he really had to focus and steer the team on the right direction. That switch in leader really made a difference because they started finding out what their sound and uniqueness aka COLOR/IDENTITY as WINNER or at that time Team A. I mean no offense to me Mino who originally appointed the leader during the early stages of WIN. But even though he also has some leader qualities, for the most part he really is such a BRIGHT and soft person. Mino actually was grateful that Yoon became the leader because it is such a huge responsibility. He couldn’t really handle all of that and it literally gave him a dark cloud over his head. He doesn’t like that feeling and like I said..he is such a BRIGHT person. Yoon has such a positive and strong mindset and perspective. He’s good at observing and talking to people, even though he has his cute maknae moments. It is true he is very WISE for his age and is such an eloquent speaker. So with Yoon as the new leader, Team A overcame their hardships throughout the show and became WINNER. The rest became HISTORY!!!
Yoon may not seem to have the “LEADER” aura as some would say, but again.. his demeanor and he naturally just LEADS the other members shows A LOT. Of course the members also tease and give him a hard time because he’s also maknae. But when it comes to work/behind the scenes, they listen to Yoon well and they respect him. He is very hard working, UNSELFISH, and such a WORKAHOLIC..and not in the healthy way too So ICs always try to tell him that he needs to slow down and just live in the present. It’s understandable that he’s always thinking about the future and what they should do next or for him as a soloist. But you know ENJOY THE MOMENT MORE. Also, he is NOT alone.. he shouldn’t be burden in shouldering so much..the members tell him he could rely on them to help carry the load when it becomes too much. I think the reason why WINNER is so bright and at times youthful is because Yoon and like I said his mindset/leadership. He is not the type to overpower the other members, he subtly guides them, listens to them, gives them advice/constructive criticisms, and vice versa.
THIS IS WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT WINNER! THEY ARE FAMILY! BROTHERS FOR LIFE! ICs have a saying… NOBODY LOVES WINNER THE WAY WINNER LOVES EACH OTHER. Even though they tease each other A LOT, there’s so much love and respect. 😭

Air, we were, for, have a good day, movie star, raining, and mino solo, turn off the lights, are especially my fav cause I love Winner chill and moody vibe. Most song are produced by yoon, except for 3 that are made by mino and hoon. Yoon also made all the lyrics except for the rap parts, so you should also see the lyrics translation as you listen.

Thank you so much for this!! I found him during my lowest moment after a health problem right during covid lockdown. The isolation was soo heavy but then I come across him singing in KOMS. All I can remember is crying. And then healing as I couldnt get stop listening to his voice. He is truly one of a kind and he is really a good kid too.
P.S. we found out today he bought his mum a new car and he himself have been driving his mom's old car around. With the royalties he is receiving, he could be showing off a car collection but he truly remain so grounded. Amazing character.

I used to be YG stan and blackjack before Inner Circle, so I always anticipated every new YG artist debut. Around 2013 I heard KSY would make a debut but dunno anything about him. Yet I was blown away when I first listen to his debut song then saw his face and age. Like How could that voice coming out from 19yo boy.. I thought he was older than me, maybe 25-30yo bcs his voice is so mature and manly...
In WIN : Who Is Next, the first half of the show I haven't decide who i support to WIN but I always having an eye for him bcs his solo project and BI bcs YG said his the next genius, but Team A (Winner) slowly grown in me because their personality, maturity and talent. Beside i feel like they hadn't found their balance and style yet as a group. After they change the leader position from Mino to Yoon and perform KSY's song . I decide to fully support them and become their fans till now
Yoon’s range is mind blowing. He’s recently been dubbed a dolphin fir reaching crazy high notes in front of Sumi Jo, a legendary Korean soprano. But as you said, he doesn’t feel the need to go hard or to show off his vocal prowess all the time. He really pays attention to the feelings involved with each song.
One more thing to note, after Yoon found fame after singing Instinctively sooooo many labels wanted to sign him promising a lot of money and success. He said no to them and ultimately signed with the agency he’s in now cause he knew he had much more to learn and he wanted to train some more. From that alone you know he’s in this career not just for the fame and money, but for the music.

I also really love his voice. He can sing as Solo, duet and in group. He can sing all genres. Even old folk korean song, he can sing it it too. For me, i never found idol that have wide range of voice like him

I really enjoyed watching you react to Yoon. You understood his vocals so well, like you connected with his voice, the way he portrays emotions when he sings and the different layers and aspects to his vocal range, you dissected and carefully observed and studied and grasped every little detail his vocals carries and as his fan this makes me immensely happy watching someone else appreciating his vocals like how I do, your comments in between were so relatable because I feel you 😂 This man makes you wanna cry makes you wanna pull out your hair in frustration because he is just too good but his voice also soothes you, it comforts you and heals your soul. According to me Kang Seungyoon is the best male vocalist in the South Korea, yes technically speaking he isn't perfect he has his short comings but no one, i repeat no one will make you feel, the way he makes you feel the emotions of the song when he sings and that is a mark of legendary singer for me.
Coming to his English pronunciation, yes he is pretty good in English, like back in 2018 WINNER did their first world tour and Yoon wanted to communicate with overseas fans well so he learnt English, he went to classes and all, he even corrected his accent during that time, he understands English well and during fansign events and all he communicates very well in English with international fans that's why his english enunciation is so good and you were correct about him understanding each and every word when he sings.
Also please react to his first solo album which came out last year it's called PAGE, he wrote and composed all of the songs in that album and it's a masterpiece you have to do a album reaction to it, please i really insist. The theory was Yoon could have continued being KING for as long as he wanted to, but he also was preparing for a drama. So, he had to let go of the KOMS crown.. but he really left with a ROCK CONCERT performance. Honestly..he could have kept being KING..he was that captivating and amazing on that show.
Oh and you said you wished you saw performances on him without the mask on? He came back to the show and sung “BOUNCE” and on the year end shows he performed “TWENTY FIVE, TWENTY ONE” with the original singer. IT WAS HEAVENLY! I think he also got to sing “BLUE WHALE” With the original band/singer too. Yoon was living his best life getting sing with legendary musicians/singers of SKOREA.
So the performance that you are missing from that KOMS compilation was “SHORT HAIR”, “WHO ARE YOU”, “BOUNCE”, “BLUE WHALE”, and “LONELY NIGHT”.

Yoon is very special artist tbh!! He doesn’t just sing a song, HE TELLS THE STORY, EMOTION, AND MESSAGE OF THE SONG beautifully and sometimes painfully. He is amazing STORY TELLER through his gorgeous voice! It’s like you said the little things he does when he’s singing..the soft moments, the little runs, the adlibs, the power, the falsettos, the growl, the gritty, and everything in between. He expresses each word with precision, very much like Mino when he raps..he expresses each word and the meaning of it. This is why these two are my co-biases in WINNER! They are just tied for me because they’re just AMAZING ARTISTS… and of course Jinwoo and Hoony are huge BIAS WRECKERS!!

The first song Yoon sang is actually by a legendy singer in Korea called Lee Juck and I'm leaving a suggestion here that you check him out, I think he has the exact type of voice you love! that lower deep husk but powerful too. I recommend "Lie, Lie, Lie" (that Yoon did), It's Fortunate and Don't Worry!! just make sure you watch the live stages he's unreal.

Oh yes! We want to see Yoon's face while singing in Mask Singer but as a long time Inseo and watching hundreds of clips of Yoon, I can confidently say that I can imagine how he looks under that mask while singing.
Yoon delivers every emotion, may it be seen or not. That voice resonates through every race, language, etc.
I still believe that the 4 of them belong together. Very skilled at their roles because they worked REALLY hard for it. YG can be a crappy company but I am happy that they let Yoon do his solo. (And we quickly knew it was Yoon even at that first note haha!)
Yeah ICs instantly knew it was Yoon behind the mask..it wasn’t just his voice, but also his mannerisms on stage. LOL! That gave it away BIG TIME!! Yoon even said he tried to restrain himself for doing any kind of movement because ppl will figure out it was him. BUT it was so hard for him to do that because he did do some well known YOON mannerisms in some of the performances. Like his little kick and bend down when he sings the climax of a song and even the way he holds his microphone. Yes… ICs saw all of that in his round 1 battle and it was validated in the round 3 performance when he became KING with that little kick hahaha. We were like OH YEAH.. it’s definitely Yoon.. the vocals and now the little mannerisms screams YOON. 😂😂
You should watch 365 live too. It's so good, you could feel his emotions especially since its a very personal song for him. :)
I also want to add on, that A LOT of the songs Yoon performed on KOMS were songs he deeply related to and if you noticed the song titles..it’s a lot of family or lost love or feeling stuck/lost. There were songs that related to how he felt about WINNER and others that he felt about his broken relationship with his father who passed away a couple years ago. So that yearning and heartbreak was coming from his personal experience.
I recommend that you react to his live performance of “365” in the same channel that he performed “IYAH” with the live band. That song is dedicated to his late father and you should read the lyrics…UGHH HITS YOUR HEART! I personally relate to it because I lost touch with my father years ago when I was still in high school. 😩

Though the Song Born to Love You wasnt made by him but from a junior/younger bro of WINNER, TREASURE Yedam. It is a gift for him since he also gave a song WAYO to yedam when he debut. Yoon gave justice to the song being the best story teller as he is through his voice.

Up up up. Can I also add that for Around 30, he was absolutely exhausted and sick. He had been working non stop for 2 days. He had filming schedule and festivals. He had a cold and hasnt slept for more than 24hrs. A lot of us were emotional watching this knowing how hard he pushed himself.

Your minds just like what I thought about KangSeungYoon for a long time ago. I’m following him since his young age and he’s the first reason for me to stay longer in KPop after various skeptics I have about KPop singer who are most of them singing only on one dimension and looks like getting forced to sing but so serious when have to dance. For International listener like me, obviously KangSeungYoon’s voice is such a thing that I’m getting used to hear, including his pronunciation and accent. Also his singing is so singing. I means I listen to a lot of idol singers but mostly aren’t singing. They’re sounds like just performing the songs, not the essentials. And imho not much we can found an idol singer like him from a bunch of them these days.
Btw, I like every youtuber who did a reaction but also gives the reason, like it or not and why didn’t like it or what aspects that makes you feels that you love it or just enjoy it or even maybe makes you wanna to rooting for their career. These kind of reaction like you have a lot more efforts and deserve a full respect than just having fun by your own purposely for the hype and attracting the viewers.
