Thank you Corey, thank you for what you have done for basketball in Australia. You have been a massive part of the rise and popularity of this great sport amongst casual fans, kids and old school fans. Your playing career was wonderful to watch and then your second career as a commentator/promoter/fan of the game has helped the NBL reached never before seen heights and also pushed it globally into now being reconised as one of the best leagues outside the NBA. I believe that life is made up of many small moments good, bad and indifferent. The moments i have in mind show you taking two moments with myself at Melbourne airport(2019 you were on your way to the blitz in tassie) and also with my children at the taipans vs breakers game at the silverdome in Launceston a couple of years ago. You kindly agreed to give your time to take a pic with some fans of the game and of yourself. These small moments would’ve meant not much to you at the time but meant everything to us. My kids(now huge jackies fans) always listen out for you on the commentary team and are disappointed if you are not on the broadcast that game. You need to know these moments you took for us made our day and also helped push our love for the NBL even further. My thoughts are with you and your family and I truly hope you continue to have many good moments moving forward with your family, friends and fans. Thank you Corey for who you are you, stay strong. The basketball community is behind you mate
Corey was just special. His passion and care for the game transcended to levels not even imaginable. As a fan I loved his energy and personality, he helped grow my love for watching basketball games here at home. It's a shame we won't get to see him back where he belongs in the commentating booth. What a great great man. Absolute legend. Although saddened by his passing, he leaves a huge legacy behind that will no doubt fill many with love and positivity for years to come. Thoughts and prayers with his family. Rip Homicide.
My grandfathers succumbed to cancer. My dad is fighting through bowel and liver cancer. I fear it may get me one day. But Corey, you have really just given me the motivation I need to not live with the fear. Thank you! You are an honorary national treasure!
All the best Corey you are a champion on and off the court and I look forward to you being back behind the Mic and entertaining and educating us with your commentary.
RIP Corey. Thank you for everything you did for the game of basketball. You were loud, controversial at times, but you always had the goal of making basketball better, and you did that.
Incredibly sad, I was really rooting for Corey to beat this. True heartbreaking times as well as the loss of another Melbourne basketball legend Adam McKay
My friend, my brother, my mentor. I will miss you a lot but especially all those moments in the summer when you would return to the Bronx and we would sit in the park for hours and hours talking about everything. Rest well, may the clouds be your pillow and your sheet the hands of God. Block 173 & Monroe will always be your home 🙏🏻❤️
I watched either in person at Townsville or away games on Fox, Homicide's MVP season with the Crocs Best of luck and it hits hard seeing Homicide like this 😢
My prayers to the Williams family and i will pray for your soul today. G-d bless your soul and the Champion that you are. Wow ❤ i am speechless and hurt. I dont understand G-d at this moment, i really dont. Definitely praying tomight. Cory LIFE Williams 🙏
Corey, you said that cancer doesn't run in your family and yet you were suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. I'm not trying to be insensitive or spread fear however I am wondering did you have the Covid vaccines? Wishing you all the best with your recovery!
@@lht1523yes really! Where have you been, under a rock? Why so many young athletes dropping off suddenly, why so many with ❤problems, why so many excess d e a t h s lately, and why so many with c a n & e r s under the age of forty…………
"ill be back next season im not going no where" that really hits. rest in peace. NBL needs a support cancer round

Really?

@@lht1523yes really, have you not heard about excess deaths in this country? Or the increase in cancer rates in people at age 40? Wake up Australia
He also said his mother died from cancer. Almost everyone had the vaccine. Jesus Christ.
