Lets also just keep it 100 even dudes on practice squads in the nfl are better than 98.4% of college football players and thats fact backed up by numbers. Travis Hunter is Going to Be A Solid Player Like Clowney Was. But That won’t Make Him A Bust

    • @BlueMax717
      @BlueMax717 5 дней назад

      Bro what? I actually just made another comment comparing him to clowney. Unfortunately, Clowney was a massive bust IMO. Spurriers own words were he didn't waste time developing clowney because we was just naturally better than everyone and he could coach other players that needed it. Then he got to the NFL and his defensive coordinator was flabbergasted clowney didn't even know how to use his hips. Hes a number 1 draft pick, linebacker with less than 300 solo tackles and 58 sacks in 11 years. And hes played for 6 teams. It's a miracle he even made it out of Cleveland and we wont even talk about Tenn. Travis Hunter about to have the same issue because if you really watch him, hes athletic but not refined. His technique is actually doo doo, just like clowney.

Unfortunately I think we will see another top tier talent get wasted in a similar way to what we saw with Clowney back in 2014. Both had insane athleticism but were never developed for that next level because they were so dominate. He'll get in to the NFL and spend a few years with the same team as they try to get him to the NFL caliber and then he'll just get passed around the league. He wasn’t above #3 in ANY stat this year when he won heisman. And was #3 only in 1 stat, then like 5, 7, 15, etc. how’s he top 3 for either?
      Personally id rather take Tetairoa McMillan,Matthew Golden, emeka egbuka, over Hunter as WR. And defensively his size WILL be an issue. Him trying to stop Derrick Henry when he’s moving is just brutal for him to even attempt. Henry has 80 pounds on him. Big receivers like Dk Metcalf will man handle him off the line if he ever presses, he’s not covering Jamaar Chase or Justin Jefferson in man… idk man. Evaluation seems real optimistic. He’ll most likely go to New England pick #4, join the likes of the other 2 way college player Jabrill Peppers, but we’ll see.

    I think Dan's hesitancy with his size is warranted. We've seen his size be great at wr ie Devonta Smith just very recently and much more. But at CB it's rare to be that slender and hold up. Sauce Gardner is one of the more slender cbs that's elite right now and he's got 20-30 lbs on Travis. Can you imagine Travis being helpful at all in a game against the Ravens, Washington, Eagles, Chiefs, Bills, and much more of the elite teams when they're just going to run toward him and dare him to try to make plays consistently on 220+ lb rbs and wrs and try to shed blocks from 250lb te's? He stands a much better chance of being an elite wr that stays healthy in my opinion. Not saying that he couldn't be an elite coverage cb, but I do think Dan's right that health is a long term issue at cb unless he bulks up substantially and then who knows if he's the same guy

    Regular season we'll probably see him do both, but in packages and key situations on offense as a decoy. Then primary read on plays later in the season. If his team makes the playoffs early in his career, I think those two-way numbers drop & he plays a majority on D.

    He has to play WR to have a chance, as a DB he'd be bullied by so many recievers that are bigger, stronger, faster, heavier. Imagine Hunter covering Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb, AJ Brown, Nico Collins, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Marvin Harrison Jr, DK Metcalf, Drake London, George Pickens, Michael Pittman Jr. or Puka Nacua. Just to name a few "larger" wideouts. There are ofc plenty of same size or smaller wingers that can beat him on skill and speed alone. Like Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson

      If he fails, it hurts the team. He's in great shape, but you don't think any NFL coach is going to send whoever he covers on a deep post every snap and then play him press on the line to beat him down? You can't have someone on the field dragging their ass around because they are out of gas. No one can play a full game both ways, even with PEDs.
