Its actually a great idea in and of itself. There is nothing wrong with that for a story line. Per usual you all over react
So funny story. I got out of the comic game for a whole after a year or 2 into new 52. I've been back full time for a few years now. I jsut recently now found out New 52 Kid Flash and Superboy weren't Conner and Bart. I read that series foe like a year. And the new 52 superboy series.
I can imagine Bar Torr appearing in like a team of villains Thawne puts together for his own reverse flash family

I think that might be the case cuz in a art panel of the upcoming “Finish line” Interia is shown to be part of the Reverse Flash Family, especially when he had brown hair

I really liked New 52 Superboy as towards his dead on Krypton I felt his development from ultimate weapon to " a kid who tried to do something good " + he has a nice suit

Yeah they introduced that Bar Tor guy as the New 52 placeholder for Bart Allen or something. Why didn't they just bring Bart Allen back proper? This guy didn't even have a familial connection to Barry which was essential to Bart Allen.

All it did was piss off old fans and confuse the new fans they were trying to attract.
I liked the 52 superboy. He was more super human than kryptonian. And his powers made him more “scout” than “tank”. Also he was a bit more devious than other versions. Kind of cool that krypton hated clones.
The thing I like about DC comics, is that due to the multiverse, All Reboots, good and bad, are still continuing in other universes. This allows fans of each reboot to have a chance at seeing their favorite iteration of their characters return.
Yah bro like I’m a huge fan of a lot of new 52 stuff since they introduced me to comics so all those stories have a special place in my heart and the character designs were a1 so it’s cool there’s literally a universe that’s just new 52

What? I enjoyed the New 52 Superboy. I thought it was cool how they expanded upon Supermans alleged telekinesis and made his powers were fully telekinetic instead of just being a younger version of Superman. I guess it was only me but I was a fan. Also no that Supergirl storyline was resolved and his actual last appearance was in the next Teen Titans run.

Disagree, I actually really liked “Kon-El” he was a very interesting take on Superboy. Especially his Powers, delving deeper into his Telekinesis instead of just the standard Kryptonian ones

I liked the beginning of the new 52 run for superboy and teen titans but after a point like around the He'l on Earth arc it I lost interest.
nah I prefer the regular kryptonian powers but his energy blasts are cool and I would like if post crisis superboy could also do that

When I was finally at a point where I forgot these versions of my favorite characters. This video had to re-open the wound.

You can tell how successful a reboot is by how many of the changes made endure. By that measure, New 52 was an epic failure.
Some of the best stuff wasnt even rebooted like Batman and Green Lantern. Also some of the good stuff was super niche and only lasted like 8 issues.
People liked the court of owls, the 1st lantern, and etc.
@@SuperboyLilly those may have been during the New 52 era, but they weren't a result of it. They could have still happened without the reboot.
Not really, they changed it all because old school fans don't like change and cried. A lot of the books are good including this Teen Titans series

Hey Benny, I don't know why everyone hates them so much, but I loved both of these characters a lot.
I actually loved most of the New 52 run.
Bar Tor's origin was a little disappointing but remember that Jay Garrick got his speed from some kind if vapor and Stan Lee's version of the Flash got her powers from humming bird's DNA. So if those make sense I'm pretty sure that Bar's ain't that bad. We can assume that the space probe he was in was powered by the negative Speed Force or something like that that's how he got his powers. But I personally think that their characters and personalities were amazing.

DC sales were really struggling at the time so the idea behind a company wide hard reboot made sense....in reality the whole Doomsday Clock Story almost made the New 52 swing and miss worth it in retrospect

Red Beast Boy definitely was awesome and in my opinion looked better than the green and made a lot more sense being that he got his powers from The Red rather than he suffered from an illness and then magically recovered with animal powers.

Here’s the thing, I actually liked Bar-Tor BEFORE it was revealed he was Bar-Tor. In other words, I liked him when he was Bart Allen, I thought he was fun and seemed like a slightly aged up Bart, I didn’t mind it at all, I even cosplayed him with his first appearance costume (the one with goggles and knee pads), but things got real funky when he became Bar-Tor.
This sounds like bad fanfiction.
So they tried something new but need to run it through the dryer a couple more times to get the kinks out.
I blame the Hunger Games craze for the Harvest storyline.

Apart from a few things new 52 Superboy is one of my favourites from new 52 and apart from a few things with the character I thought it went alright. the rest I didn't really like with very few exceptions. But all around it was not very good. I mean for example seen as we are on the subject I liked the more adult titans although there where definitely things about titans that I didn't like such as a few character choices and a few other things. Things outside me talking about superboy and titans, I found red hood and the outlaws was a good story amongst few others.

How were they forgotten if they are still roaming around in the DC universe? I’m just really confused about the whole time-travel thing from “Bart” because I think it would be fairly obvious for his enemies from the future to know that Bartor from the future had something to do with Bart from the past, especially since he popped out of nowhere.
I like the design for superboy and I didn't think his story was bad either.
As for Bar Torr I liked his design too but his story was confusing based on what I heard. Primarily the only thing that I really care about is learning where his powers come from exactly. Other than that I'm more than okay with him not being related to Barry. That whole, "they're related to blah so they can do blah" is really overused. I like new characters that are their own people.
Actually, that is one reason why I didn't like the sequel Star Wars movies.

These heroes were removed from canon and continuity.

I actually quite liked the New52 Superboy. His version of Tactile Telekinesis was pretty neat how to was more visible like light streams.
Like what if this Superboy becomes the embodiment of the creator’s first iteration of the Super-Man only not evil and not bald?

Superboy had a 30+ issue series with constant Superman crossovers and a spot with the Titans. If you were around during the New 52 you knew about him. He himself wasn't that bad a character. but all the crap they changed about his setting and origin was awful.

It bisected with Dial H for hero, Naomi, Sideways, Wondertwins. But the latest chapter had Impulse revealing that the crisis happened to everyone and its impact on superboy[explaining thats why he was forgotten]. Last page was Superboy confronting impulse and asking what happened to him, after all the other heroes left.

I honestly kinda like the idea of Jon Lane Kent. It’s like a potential evil future version of Rebirth’s Jonathan Kent. Also, Kryptonians like Supergirl seeing Jon as an abomination for being a clone has a lot of potential.
i personally didn't because I found Jon lane kent to be a monster and super confusing that he made no sense whatsoever at least in my opinion. :)
@@TevyaSmolka I never read the comic myself, so I don't know how bad the story is. Judging by what this video says, yeah the storyline seems like a complete mess. I just think the character had the potential to be interesting, but it seems like that definitely was not the case.

I hated the New 52; it ruined my favourite superheroes-Power Girl and the JSA-and created needlessly contrived and edgy stories in the process, the only good things to come out of it were a handful of Batman stories.
Adult versions of New 52 Superboy and Kid Flash appeared when Jonathan Kent couldn’t control his powers and their Tim Drake was trying to kill him.
This frustrates me since Scott Lobdell is a good writer. I think he wanted to make the new52 versions way different since he was told things were completely new. But I do like the lore that Krypton hated clones due to them being a slave race that rebelled.

Just read that, the whole saga was so weird, it began okay-ish but everyone is so unlikable, red beast boy, Wonder Girl being with everyone, getting rid of Solstice just because, Superboy and Bar Torr, Raven with a trash costume(I guess it was okay, but you can't change Raven THAT much), and Miguel, who was okay I guess. Also, it was such a shame because it was related to Forever Evil and Death in the family, comics that I actually like

did you cover that issue of superman that some how had nuclearman (from superman IV) in the phantom zone? he was a character considered to be "the worst" by many people.
I liked new 52 Bart Allen’s costume but that’s about it…the rest was way too confusing. I liked the teen titans run and even the cross overs with superboy in superman comics
That wasn't Bart Allen. He was actually a murderous psychopath with his memories erased and given false positive memories like believing barry Allen was his grandfather. He was tricked into thinking he was Bart Allen. The funny thing is he's not even connected to the speed force like the other speedsters. He's actually connected to a source of energy that hasn't yet been addressed either that or his speed comes from some metagene. So yea his story is quite sad because he actually believed he was an Allen and grandson of one of the greatest heroes that ever lived then being reminded that he was a murderous meta human after having his memories restored.
only good things to come out of that run on titans was the cool red robin costume and bunker

The worst version has to be the Khalid Nassour DR. FATE. I have the first 18 issues and read them many times, but given the characters past it seems like it was a bad version that just depowered the character and added no real depth.
I wish that the big reveal with Bar Torr was that he WAS related to Barry but somehow lost his memories. People might have actually liked him more
The last time a saw them were in the DCYOU teen titans era. Kon left in volume 2 after talking to Harvest. And Bartor was captured in volume 3 by the durlans.
Strange enough - somehow the New 52 Superman came back to life in Sideways volume 2. So we may see hom brought back as well.

Anybody else having trouble with sound when trying to play videos straight from the inbox tab of the Android RUclips app? I tried to play this video three times and heard nothing until I clicked on it in my subscription feed. Just thought that was sort of weird.

New52 Kid Flash the most bc wasn’t even named Bart Allen but real Bar Torr and just called himself Bart Allen when he lost his memories after transferring himself to the 21th century. And not to mention he’s not the grandson of Barry Allen and his powers didn’t come from the speed force, but instead just happened to have super speed in a galactic war.
New52 Superboy will a half Kryptonian half human clone, he wasn’t a clone of Superman and Lex Luther, but instead a clone of a future son of New52 Superman and New52 Lois Lane name Jonathan Lane Kent, who was evil and a henchman of the villain Harvest and his organization called N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
I recently read a few of the Superboy New 52 comics. They weren't all bad, but as I've never read the OG Superboy stuff I can't really compare. It might be nice if they reintroduced this Superboy somewhere down the line.

Everything about the New 52 was terrible. And the few things they did right were soon destroyed. I can't even buy DC stuff anymore. They treated their characters and their fans with such total disregard that I refuse to support them. It's a shame, because I grew up loving the DC universe, and there were some genuinely good characters who were destroyed by DC's editorial decisions.

I never really got into the new 52 all I ever had was volume 1 of red hood and the outlaws, Teen titans and nightwing would you recommend I pick up one of those series?
Wait. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I do remember during a Titans Rebirth storyline about an alternate future Donna Troy or Tim Drake, that Cassie Sandsmark Con El and Bar Torr were seen observing one of these situations. Correct me?
It was but those versions were the Pre New 52 Titans of Tomorrow so that Superman and Flash were Kon El and Bart Allen from pre new 52

I actually disagree. I think the origin of n52 SuperBoy is pretty awesome. The stories he was involved in were not that good, but his origin, and therefore his potential, is excellent. He is cloned from a "future Trunks" version of Jon Kent. You need to read SuperBoy vol5 "paradox" which is the last story of his solo title. Its surprising good AND it redeems Evil Jon. My biggest wish is that we woulda got a comic of Future Jon and Kon working together. They're essentially the Nightwing and Red Hood of the superman mythos. You could give one a red suit and one a blue suit, for obvious Superman homage nostalgia.

Everyone seem to have forgotten Scott Lobdell's potential and nobody actually guided him during the New 52 first stage

Here's a scary question for you... is the Conner Lane Kent that Kon-El was cloned from really an alternate future version of Superman and Lois's son? Because Superman and Lois do have a son in the current continuity. Something to think about.
I actually loved N52. Sure some characters got a little fucked over. But others had loads of dope things going on. plus their designs were far superior to what we have now.
