tip in singing rock.., dont use your chest voice, use you mix voice and make it sound heavy. make your voice a bit nasal.. making your voice whiny can make you easily connect to you head voice in case you need to scream high notes.. for distortions, it is actually advance.. same principle applies based on what you learned in singing.. the only difference is that, you need to apply vocal fry in your normal voice.. TIP- when it hurts, you are 100% doing it wrong

If i want to create a sound like a powerful belt, i use a covering. I use my mix voice and make it sound like a belt, but in reality, it feels effortless. I dont know how others approach this stuffs, i think it really depends on each of the singer's comfort zone and style

Dr Dan, Is it true that a rock singer like Jon Bon Jovi employs a technique where the sound resonates in the nasopharynx? That is, going by exercises on You Tube, developed by the 'bratty' nay exercise/sound.
Great channel and video Dr. Dan. I bet you could do a terrific cover of any song by the band Rush or Triumph. I think both of the singers for those bands were tenors as well and when I hear your voice and singing it reminds me of both Geddy Lee and Rick Emmett.
